Yes and some have banned gay rights too. Should we follow suit just cause.

I assume that you are a qualified teacher. If you were financially able to home school your child(ren) would you do a better job than the public system?
-
I'm qualified. Most parents aren't.

We need nationalized daycare NOW. "The education of all children, from the moment that they can get along without a mother's care, shall be in state institutions at state expense." - Karl Marx

Kids don't need MOTHERS ever, they need somebody to feed and change them right from birth. So, its kids taken right from the delivery room into state facilities. What could go wrong?
-
Argus, the NDP and Liberals are pushing for much needed national daycare. Marx had some excellent ideas and some of our current politicians realize that. But you think it's trolling. Good grief.

It amazes me that so many here don't understand the importance of teaching students to collaborate. Collaboration is probably the most important aspect of public education. Kids sit in groups and collaborate, sharing ideas, respecting diversity. It is the 21st century, people.

You're right Capt. Now there is a more concerted push.

Aha, maybe that's why 21st is such a successful real estate company.

All the simple minded can do is make inane jokes.

No Capt. Canada. The public education system promotes collaboration to teach kids to think critically. It's the 4 Cs of 21st Century Skills. Try reading up on it.

Personally, I could care less what anyone believes about me.

Beware sharkman overthere and Mighty AC! Your attempt to ridicule another posters understanding of the English language has exposed your own frailty of comprehending linguistics!

Neoliberalism is like a cancer of communities. It encourages individuals to pursue their own interests while ignoring the consequences.

Plenty of other lightweights around here do the same thing.

Simply, yes. Let wing governments have compassion and care about the little guy.
-
And with left wing governments, we'll all be the little guy.

Funding public education is too important to depend upon donations.

I choose social justice, compassion, and inclusiveness.

It's easier, and harder, to just choose love.

Choose Life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose an effn' big television, choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol, and dental insurance. Choose fixed interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisurewear and matching luggage...

I choose organic.

Changing the world to be more inclusive and to celebrate diversity should become the main goal of public education.

The role is certainly not to steer the youngster towards a personal or political philosophy.
-
Why not?

They're not your kids to play with. Have your own, if you can find anyone willing to breed with a fictitious character.

Remember to include both blonde AND brunette, Sharkman.

I'm disappointed that Kimmy is excluding readheads. That doesn't seem very inclsive.

Hey, it's going to be an INCLUSIVE drawing, have no fear

Get back to us with your predictions for the 2016 election. I hear you're seldom wrong.
-
Sex thread required!

That's all I'm going to talk about now by the way

I am predicting that the democrats will continue to have a majority in the senate. My political predictions are rarely wrong. (Ontario Election - I called it.)

It could be close, you never know.

I've been more accurate than polls.

Prove it based on more than one election.

Wow. I have 8 warning points for being an honest, no-holds barred commentator on this forum. Wow.

Ya I used to let those warning points bother me to. You get used to them eventually

This would never happen if Karl Marx ran this site

You ever get the feeling some days that you're just talking to yourself?

Canada's contribution to CO2 emission is so small that nothing any Canadian government does will have the slightest impact on world CO2 levels.

But the world needs Canada's leadership...and blankets.

You made it sound like they were planning on doing something about Climate change, they are just planning for whatever natural disaster strikes as a result of climate change...

Problem solved!

Mightn't that give you a clue as to how isolated the deniers are nowadays?

Norway is ridiculously expensive...

I was just in Scandinavia. They have a lower standard of living, generally speaking, than we do in Canada.
-
Australia is definitely more socialist than Canada. Wage intervention by the feds, the 'tall poppy' syndrome, 'fair go', living wage, etc. SSweden abandoned cradle-to-grave long ago, Denmark too and Norway can afford anything at all, anything

Socialism may be the only way to save the earth and reverse climate change.

The fight for public education in BC continues as teachers return to classrooms to still find schools still underfunded and understaffed.
