  1. Accepting possibilities is a two way street, reducing pollution should be a goal, but unless you want us to turn off the lights or the China's and India's to give up modernizing or cut their population to reduce their emissions the future holds more co2 for all of us. So instead of constantly telling people what has to happen, tell us how it is to REALISTICALLY happen. You're all big on problems but not real solutions.
  2. I have no problem with taxes, so long as the money isn't being spent to support people who refuse to support themselves, or on fringe causes of any political stripe.
  3. He broke the rules, he should have known better, i just hope that for the sake of the city the Adam 'ladies frames' vaughn isn't the next mayor.
  4. If he wanted to use this to raise money he shouldn't have apologized for it, how can something be just negativity directed his way when he's admitted to it? Let me guess, the big bad conservatives made him, golly gee thats the kind of backbone we need in a pm, or not.
  5. Damn this slippery slope that nothing ever seems to slide down.
  6. They are doing nothing different than any other political party, sure some do it more than others, but in the end it is just variations of the same theme, and you know that, posting this only again shows how terribly dishonest you are, but then it's your nature, i shouldn't blame you.
  7. Yes thats what we want, not a reasoned response to facts.
  8. The numbers the liberals gave in the 90's were usually bs too, they just happen to be to the good after much deeper cuts than what the current government made, it's the same game all of the time, it's so small and petty the some need to make an issue of it, projections are always political.
  9. So...? Moving from the Liberals to the NDP in lieu of the CPC isn't the same as moving from the NDP to the Liberals, unless you assume that all of the NDP vote came from the liberals in the first place, so unless you have evidence of that beyond what you believe it might be your writing ability that is causing the confusion more so than the reading comprehension of others.
  10. You can choose to be offended or you can accept that there will always be racists in all races and not go into panic mode demanding that eveyone have their programming changed, i would imagine that forcing people to attend sensitivity training likely makes more 'racists' than it prevents. Btw, do you think the same people that are up in arms about this are the same people type of people who cared about the cenotaph? In my experience most of the ultra progressives like youself who get all wound up about what some asshole wrote on a bathroom wall aren't lets say the remeberance types, those people are just as likely to be against remeberance day for glorifying war or promoting imperialism or any other number of silly things.
  11. In the end all that matters is that someone is throwing rocks at your house, maybe you deserve it, maybe you don't, but you cannot allow someone to throw rocks at your house, and you have a stockpile of bigger rocks. Do you ignore the rocks (no), do respond by only throwing the same size of rocks back, or do you punish the people who threw the rocks by throwing more and bigger ones back at them (duh). Sure you don't have to discuss the history of the place, however in the here and now a fight between two parties isn't usually won but the smaller weaker one, stop throwing those little rocks, even if the other guy deserves them, he's gonna hurt you.
  12. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2217286/Global-warming-stopped-16-years-ago-reveals-Met-Office-report-quietly-released--chart-prove-it.html#ixzz29E78OR9H This article explains exactly what some of us have been saying, even some of the scientists who still believe in agw admit that there are some factors they did not anticipate, i will accept the possibility of agw when some of you admit in the possibility that science doen't have it all figured out, btw, i already believe in the possibility, most deniers are more scientific then most of the believers.
  13. Yea it's too fucking bad that you don't have rules against abject stupidity, instead you celebrate it by allowing the person in question insult everyone who disagrees with him, open your eyes, if he was a right wing poster he would have been banned already.
  14. My god your an arrogant bastard, i have two children in highschool, neother of whom use or are required to use any of the things you seem to think they need, they also happen to be near the top of their classes, one of them volunteers teaching children to swim at the YMCA and plays/practices football everyday after school. Neither of them uses or owns a cellphone and neither of them cares to own one, i've asked. They have laptops at home, they use them ocaisionally when they need to type an assignment, i was doing the same 20 years ago, so it seems you don't need all of that bull shit you mentioned to be successful in school, only an idiot would believe that.
  15. In my experience most people who rant about the party being over were never invited in the first place, jealousy is a powerful emotion.
  16. IM sure that there were child soldiers in the world wars. or Korea, when they shot at us we shot back. It's just far too simple for some of you to understand, not everything in the world is complicated, lots of people in the military sign up because they have no choice, it's that or starve, do they deserve to be treated like they are special? If you are old enough to fight you are old enough to refuse, he chose to kill someone (yes i know, you choose not to believe it, i dont have an answer for you), he could have taken the consequences of saying no, intead he choce to take someone else's life. For that we have to pity him? No. we don't, sorry lefties all of your thoughts on this issue is based on a broken belief system, the world will never be what you want, in the real world, killing people in war has ramifications.
  17. When science is still discorvering important things about climate, like the effects the deep oceans have on temperature, how can anyone say that we know for certain what is happening? If important things are still being discovered it is safe to assume others are yet to be investigated, in that case any attitude of certainty is one more based in beliefs then facts. I would like science to say we aren't sure a lot more often, but when you have a political motivation, a crusade to sell to the masses, one that just might be as important as they believe it to be, you must over reach, and when you do, you will be exposed. The road to hell and what not.
  18. So what i learned from this thread is that Canada is doing fairly well and it is all bad because we aren't doing well in the way some people think we should be. Is it, get a skill, get a job vs hold your hand out until the NDP gets elected? I dont see a lot of bread lines or terrible poverty in my city, i can't say that there aren't problems in the system, but then i don't pretend to have all of the answers either. There is job for almost anyone in this country who wants one, a lot of them pay well too, now you might have to accept working along side the corporate environemnt killers in Alberta, but I would say its better than waiting for the government to invent you a social justice job that should never have existed, ever.
  19. How many women are running companies in other countries where all of these wonderful new Canadians come from, that apparently our companies need to hire? Lot's of women running companies in China and India? Im sure.
  20. Just because you believe it has to be so does not make it a fact, btw, just because you would like to replace us doesn't mean we are going to let you.
  21. So your argument is that different must be better? All those old white guys you have disdain for built this country into a place that attracted all of those people from all of those other places. When women deserve to be in charge they can be and they do, i know this is impossible for you to understand, but men built the world we live in, for better or worse it makes sense that men generally perform better within the framework their predecessors built.
  22. His governemnt just agreed to $150 million in welfare for the paper mill in Port Hawkesbury, a place staffed via nepotism since forever and now once again propped up by the government to enable the few to keep reapng the benefits of under skilled and over paid jobs. It Seems no one else in that area could use some help...the guys who have been making $40 bucks an hour with no education becuse their daddy got them a job 20 years ago deserve to be taken care of..again.
  23. I can't wait until your gone, i hopefully won't have to hear more on the news about the league of communist Quebec students protesting in your streets. GTFO
  24. Yes it's enlightening that some left wing arts types believe that everything in our society is wrong and needs to be changed to suit their beliefs, it's terrbibly enlightening that you would also beleive this, your comments here would not have lead any of us to this conclusion. Terribly enlightening indeed. O yes, standardized tests are wrong, because they may show that someone isn't as smart as someone esle, and we can't have that, we can't allow any sort of seperation between people because we all need to be exactly the same. As soon as we are different we have inequalities, that isn't allowed, reality isn't allowed. It isn't social justicy enough.
  25. I just looked outside, the planet is not covered in a boiling lake of molten rock. Some point.
