  1. I suppose your evidence of that is in the same place as the evidence that proves the cpc purposely corrupted the last election.
  2. Yea, the average salary of $83,000 with holidays and the summers off is obscenely low.
  3. It's my belief that you're the one filled with hate, i use the above post as evidence. What an utterly ridiculous thing to say, how ignorant could you possibly have to be to think the way you do?
  4. Canada would be in a recession except for the oil that happens to be on the Alberta side of an arbitrary line drawn on a map. Your fooling yourself if you think that Albertans have anything to do with it, in fact a lot of those hard working oil field people come from the east. I could say that Albertans are too busy jacking up their trucks, doing crack, and basically being stupid to provide enough workers for the job market, but that would be as stupid as calling easterners lazy, neither is true.
  5. This is a ridiculous comment, not surprising coming form the likes of you. Sad, pathetic, idiotic, ridiculous. You're a small person.
  6. Of course that would have nothing to do with the fact that it is almost impossible to use a gun in Canada for self defense without being arrested for it, and in places where that isn't a concern firearms are used regularly for self defence so your statement would require some actual statistics to be considered.
  7. Well lets see, i have been taught, i did my time in university, and as part of my job i sometimes teach people to do a job one on one for months at a time, a job more difficult and demanding than any teachers job, one that will result in peoples deaths if not done properly. So while im not a teacher i have enough experience to understand that most of what they do I could do right now, without any training, i have had enough incompetent ones to know that, im sure they were getting paid and I promise you I could do at least as well as they did. In fact i have no doubt that i could do better, you may feel differently about your abilities and that's fine, but from my point of view teachers aren't special, it requires a basic education and basic teaching specific training. Having the right aptitude for the job is in my opinion much more important than the schooling, unfortunately it seems many teachers teach because of the pay scale rather than their enjoyment of teaching, like most people they just want a decent job, they aren't special, it isn't a calling.
  8. How quickly some people turn these discussions into an attack on itellectualism speaks volumes to me about the system they are desperate to protect. We can't even discuss the issue, why? Well because, thats why.
  9. O now, look at what you did, now someone is going to come along and tell you that even though your province puts more into the feds than it gets back that it really isnt your money anymore after the feds get it and therefore it really isn't coming from you and going to someone else. Tsk Tsk.
  10. So the NDP clearly hid illegal donations in advertising costs but they weren't illegal donations? Ok then. I suppose they are repaying this for no reason, how good of them.
  11. I wouldnt say all, but they do tend to take care of their own, there is some racism in that for sure, but its more of an us vs them attitude in my experience, it's something that white aglo's couldn't get away with nearly as much.
  12. Just like the protesting students in Quebec, this isn't about what the real world is, it's about what they want to change in into, by force if required, the rest is just window dressing.
  13. Yes, clearly the lesson being learned in Quebec is that the world needs more humanities students who have no concept of the real world beyond their desire to change it into whatever Marxist utopia their profs rant about everyday. A zero is a number, it means nothing more than any other number, it has a value ascribed to it, if the student deserved a 5% would they be given a 5% or is that also not allowed, what lower limit of numbers can a student be given, which 'researcher' has determined the lower limit of allowable percentages that one is allowed to give? Is it now that we give students who deserve a zero a slightly higher failing grade, in effect making that higher grade the new zero? What idiot believes that will make the students feel better about their progress, please raise your hands and be counted, don't be confused if the counting starts at 10, im just concerned for your well being.
  14. Im so pleased that my children will be out of the school system before possibly being subjected to your 'wisdom'. There are all types of jobs out there, one for any sort of individual, that doesn't change the fact that most people don't have the luxury of the relatively high pay, excellent benefits, and summers off. Many people work harder than teachers while getting paid less, teachers are not that special, any almost average person could teach any high school subject, it is far from rocket science. The responsibilities teachers have pale to those in many other professions, do nurses get all holidays, a 8 to 4 schedule and summers off? Don't think so. Over paid and under worked. Now i could be more reasonable about it, it is an important job, like many others are, but some in the profession obviously couldn't care less about reality, or the welfare of the kids who miss school when there is a strike, so why should we care about them? Cut their pay, starve em out.
  15. I have nothing against teachers, it is an important responsibility, however, there are people who have much more responsibility, who in fact have peoples lives in their hands who aren't paid more or treated as well as teachers, teachers are doing just fine thanks. No btw, im not jealous of teachers, I already make a lot more than them. Though the summer mostly off would be nice.
  16. Another issue right out of the far left playbook, you do know that most of us have heard this before, and many times at that, we also understand the underlying desire to force everyone to the same level under the guise of other things.
  17. From the point of view of coverage for live events this is terrible. The current coverage is the best i have seen.
  18. A great show to be sure. There is a military base in my town, of course unless you work on the base you would hardly know it, but no doubt the change is happening silently all around me, soon i won't be able to see the forest for the militarism. My god, they might put up a flag.
  19. Im sorry i don't have the inclination to accommodate your lack of comprehension, perhaps you re-read the whole thread, others have said exactly what i did in different way, maybe that will help you. Or maybe you are just a partisan troll who in reality cares not for truth or honesty, either way the internet is full of people like you and your two minutes are up. But just to give you a hint, think chicken and egg, don't hurt yourself with that one.
  20. By god you are boring. Maybe you need a hobby, perhaps if you had other interest you wouldn't read so much minutiae into everything. Clearly you have incredibly powerful evidence (in your imagination) that Canada is becoming more militaristic, so much that we need to be concerned about the future of our nation. This kind of anti military, anti nationalistic rhetoric belongs at babble, they really love this trash.
  21. Yes because throughout history no one has ever been killed by an edged weapon. You want to save lives don't you? Or do you only want to save the lives of people who happen to be shot at the same time in one place? Should we ban fertilizer too? Where does it end. You and others seem to think that people won't be killed if we don't have the guns, im telling you that more people are stabbed now then shot, you seem to think that is irrelevant, and that more people won't be stabbed or beaten with fewer guns, i disagree. I also disagree that shooting victims are special, or that groups of people being shot are even more special, every victim deserves the same consideration. I didn't start this game of false equivalencies, the people who think that a shooting is worthy of massive discussion when multiple people are shot did that, the fixation on firearms is the issue. You want to save lives? Lobby for alcohol prohibition, it's been done, but you never know the second time might be the charm. The gun registry focused on about 2% of all homicides, was useless, and we told you so, o but there were fewer firearm suicides, but not fewer suicides, more people just hung themselves, what a victory. But of course if you ban hand guns more people won't be shot with long guns, and if you ban long guns more people won't be stabbed, or beaten, no of course not. I don't want anyone to be shot, if i truly believed that taking guns out of the hands of us legitimate owners would really save lives i would have to consider it and weigh it against the freedom we would lose. But that thought isn't required because it simply isn't going to prevent the vast majority of gun crime which is already committed by people who WILL NOT ABIDE BY ANY LAW. It hasn't worked in the UK and it won't work here even sitting next to our anti gun neighbors to the south..
  22. Not to belittle the impacts of the 10-15% but what is that in real numbers and without a gun stolen from a legal Canadian owner how many of those murders would occur with a different weapon or with a handgun from other sources, or then a long gun? These arguments go nowhere, it is the same as saying having a gun in the home means you're more likely to be accidentally shot without considering if the gun in the home provides some protection as well. So this becomes a gun registry argument where we target a small fraction of guns used in crime and then actually prevent none all the while telling the most law abiding group of people in the country that the numbers don't count, we have to ban this and restrict that just to make people feel better. I think our gun laws are just about right, examples of changes i could see making include making it more difficult to get a license, more stringent testing, at the same time i think restrictions upon using a firearm for home defense should be virtually none, i don't see the need to carry a hand gun, perhaps if there were psych test or intensive training programs it would be acceptable in general. But it doesn't matter what we as gun owners do or are willing to accept, there will always be people who lose their minds every time someone is shot no matter how many other people are killed by other means. Some people are simply afraid of guns period, some of us ask ourselves why the government sells us liquor when it kills lots of innocent people every year, and some of us know that bans don't work in a free society. Nor would it make illegal guns any more illegal.
  23. Read what i wrote again, you can do it!
  24. Then do left wingers like to spray water where fires don't exist and have no chance of starting? That probably doesn't make sense, but then look at what it is in reply to.
  25. Some of the posts in this thread have a "troops in the streets" feel to them, we have a military history and a modest military at present, The idea that Canada is becoming militaristic because the current government sees more value in supporting the present and remembering the past a little more than previous governments is absolutely ludicrous. Only a true extremist would worry about Canada becoming too militaristic, it is a non issue for the vast majority of us, and anyone reasonable.
