  1. The fact that this took place on a weekday at a time when most of us are working or sleeping to be ready for work should say a lot. But that won't matter, someone will try to go after the guns, it's always the tools fault and not the tools that use them.
  2. When the world gets together and decides to share the same values these problems will disappear...until then they can cry all they want, as i said before the vast majority of us don't decide to not work on Sunday for religious reasons, it is our custom to have Sunday off, at least for some.
  3. So if someone offers an opinion, whatever that might be, and you respond over and over with a one word response is it really the poster you're responding to or in fact yourself that is trolling? In any case i don't see why it matters, and having been to most of the big cities in Canada i would say that Calgary is nothing special, but then none of them are.
  4. Maybe there are a lot of things you don't see.
  5. Thats a good point, sort of. But as someone who is technically a christian, i don't care if christian terrorists are executed on easter. The fact that our holidays and our work week is set in part due to christian values isn't really the point since most people no longer view Sunday as the lords day.
  6. I don't know if there is a hidden agenda, i doubt they have one any more than the conservatives do, but in their supporters as in the conservative's supporters, there is a portion of that support that feels they aren't anywhere nearly extreme enough in their views or policies. I wonder if the NDP would be more likely to move further to the left than the conservatives have to the right after winning an election, i tend to think they would.
  7. The politically left whines non stop about the need for more gun control, when it is easy to prove that the average long gun owner contributes virtually nothing to crime. The majority of firearms crimes are perpetrated in cities, no doubt you could break it down even further, by race, or economic standing. But we can't do that, we can't be honest about the realities, but as soon as we want to get tougher on crime, or allow people easier access to weapons for self defense, we need to take a step back and look at the numbers..that's inconsistent thinking. Crime is generally low, unless of course you look at some enclaves within our larger cities, crime there isn't low at all, in any case every individual has the right to self defense, if you choose to push someone of their bicycle, you have chosen reciprocation.
  8. If the f35 works and only costs what it was originally supposed to would you be happy that we were spending those billions on it or are you just against military spending? What are you really arguing against, because if you are demanding that military hardware have no cost increases and be perfect before you will purchase then you will never purchase. Your arguments seem to be a back door attack on military spending more so than a concern that we get a good deal.
  9. You're pretty tiresome, the point is, the eventually spent a whole bunch of money to counter the recession and that increased our debt, you're arguments are terribly dishonest.
  10. It's amazing that as impressive as it is the saturn 5 booster makes it look anemic 50 years ago.
  11. So we finally get rid of her and now your inventing hypothetical situations whereby you may have an opportunity to complain about her in the future, so sad.
  12. Right, you just want the controls that your beliefs deem necessary and what could be wrong with that, you being you after all.
  13. Its strange that you can say that when you folks continually support the desire of police to have everything they think is a good idea, just who is it that wants that police state now? But then if history is a guide it isn't always the political right, it isn't so much a dirty little secret as it is one were just supposed to ignore.
  14. Well at least your one of the few to make your agenda clear. Speaking for myself, I actually just think that we need a military and equipment for them to use, your hatred for the military seems to have some sort of sexual aspect, strange, anyway perhaps you should question pilots of USAF aircraft that have been flown in combat for the last couple of decades to see if they thought their aircraft are impractical or illogical. The efficiency record they hold would seem to say otherwise, its alarming how often ideologues think they should decide for the military just what equipment they need when they themselves generally know nothing about the military and it's realities while wishing we had no military at all. It sort of makes your opinion completely irrelevant.
  15. Maybe your Canada deserves to be destroyed, meanwhile my Canada is virtually the same as it was last year, or ten years ago, mostly in the middle ignoring the rants of extremists.
  16. Name one person in Canada that can't breathe or eat because our environment. It's a recurring theme here, some of you have no ability to debate honestly.
  17. It is also true that some of the people who argue against this aircraft argue from an idological position of wanting no aircraft of any kind, that sort of dishonesty makes it impossible to have a reasonable discussion on the subject, i dont know if this aircraft will ever work for us, but i do believe we need new aircraft. It seems that some of you are arguing against more than just this particular aircraft.
  18. Well praise the lord! What would we do without your wisdom.. I agree with the ruling btw. Ps. i actually saw this, gasp, in the news before you posted it, thanks tho, really.
  19. No, there is no comparison between suggesting we give everyone guns and ammunition and suggesting we ban bullets in Toronto to prevent shootings. The first is ridiculous, and has never been suggested, the second has been suggested, is impossible and couldn't possibly have any impact on crime. One is unreality, the other while inane is in fact being suggested, equally stupid, but only one of those is actually being considered. In this case the truth, or reality, is stranger than the fiction, because the fiction you suggested will not ever happen, you're creating a fallacy while deflecting away from the reality that some idiot Councillor in Toronto thinks its possible to remove bullets from the city. He is ridiculously wrong, i hope you can see that.
  20. Imprecise or casual language used to describe or institutions doesn't necessarily mean a lack of understanding of the finer points, nor does it mean the arguments made by those persons are invalid, i think you know that, and i somehow doubt your sole desire is to correct these minor imperfections in order to protect our institutions.
  21. Of course no one has ever proposed that, that would be the difference between the reality of the banning-wrap everyone in bubble wrap and it will be all ok crowd, and the unreality of red herrings such as the one you proposed above.
  22. I agree with you, if everyone refused to accept some things from employers they would have no option, but that isn't reality. I too have a code of conduct to abide by, i don't like it sometimes but i can choose to work elsewhere, im sure I feel just like most of the people at parks Canada my job is too good to walk away from.
