  1. Spend on stimulus, you didn't spend enough on stimulus, spend more on stimulus, OMG WHY DID YOU BORROW ALL OF THAT MONEY FOR THE STIMULUS! WHY IS OUR DEBT SO HUGE!!!? Brought to you by the opposition, or we could just say that they are all politicians playing the same game, we would have had this debt in some form, maybe more, maybe less, no matter who was in charge at the time.
  2. Legal firearms owners are as responsible for these events as farmers are for fertilizer bombs. Btw, the grenade argument is a laugh, we are already arguing over reasonable limits, firearms are already heavily controlled here, some of you want them controlled into non existence, which is a much more unreasonable view point than most gun owners who happily abide by our gun laws. They also happen to be more law abiding than non gun owners.
  3. Did you break all of your knives too? Maybe someday we can go back to the time before guns when there was no violence, or perhaps some of you are and will forever be to immature to think about this rationally.
  4. So you honestly, actually believe that this decision was made in a vacuum and has nothing to do with the perception of gun owners by and large created by the ban brigade and the media? Nahhh.. Btw the the decision was reversed, at least in part due to pressure from the 'Canadian gun lobby', those evil guys who don't believe in blaming athletes for the transgressions of scum drug dealers.
  5. For someone with so many opinions about guns you ought to know that we have a graduated license system for firearms in this country, with different levels of testing and different requirements for use and transport, look it up, educate yourself.
  6. Yea. it is ridiculous that we are so afraid of these people that we won't even ask to see their faces before we sell them a controlled substance. Whats worse is that it isn't even them we are afraid of, it's the 'progressives', those who tell us our culture, our way of doing things, needs to take a back seat to other cultures in our country lest we offend. When you defend practices like these that is exactly what you are doing.
  7. You commenting on intelligence is similar to me commenting on labor pains.
  8. As i said, you aren't worth the bother, i have spent a lot of time looking at the statistics, if you want details, feel free to look for yourself, you seem at least capable of that.
  9. Yea, see this is the part of the argument that is inevitably reached when discussing firearms with people who don't know much about firearms. A shotgun could have done more damage in these recent shootings than either a handgun or assault rifle. Anyway, unless you live in a few of the more violent suburbs of Toronto or a few other cities you have a better chance of being struck by lightning than shot. We are very fortunate that most of these people don't know what they are doing. Then again if they did they could build a bomb out of household materials and kill more people, not doubt we would have to ban nails or lengths of pipe if that happened.
  10. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1223193/Culture-violence-Gun-crime-goes-89-decade.html I know, i know, the source is bad, the numbers are wrong, the numbers are being twisted, it has to work because you say it will, the uk has a more violent culture, etc etc etc. Doesn't work, never will, you can't put this genie back into the bottle. And as terrible as it all is, crime rates, and homicide rates are down, except for some of our more culturally vibrant enclaves in our largest city and a few other areas, it's funny how hand gun violence isn't such a big deal in rural areas where there are a lot more hunting and shooting enthusiasts. Ever hear of a party being shot up in a rural area with 25 people injured? It isnt the guns no matter how badly you want it to be.
  11. Irrelevant to the topic at hand, go lobby the government for stiffer penalties for gun use and less for pot use, i will support you. Btw a couple of weeks ago a judge refused to give someone the minimum sentence for a gun offense calling it unconstitutional.
  12. I was only going to reply to the first part of your message, simply because i don't want to waste my time, but there are more STABBINGS then SHOOTINGS in Canada, which is exactly what i said, i didn't say knife homicides. Btw a couple of years ago there were actually more knife homicides than gun homicides, so get off your high horse, you don't want to get into an argument over numbers, ill bury you in them. How about the fact that of all gun homicides we spent a billion or so focusing on about 2% of them with the long gun registry. Anyway, if you can't manage to actually read what i wrote before responding and attacking an argument i didn't make with an all of 0.5% difference in percentages you really aren't worth the bother. Btw you numbers of knife owners vs gun owners is more bullshit, unless you are silly enough to believe that the presence of a weapon somehow forces a person to use that weapon, here we go again with the mystical powers of inanimate objects. Also there are other countries where the homicide rate is lower with more guns and higher with less, and one more thing, the governments gun ownership numbers aren't close, it is much higher. The vast majority of those being long guns, which aren't used very often at all in homicides and the vast majority of those forearms that are are illegally obtained, mostly via smuggling, though no one really knows that true numbers. But you can be sure that new laws will not make illegal guns anymore illegal.
  13. We are aware that people shoot each other, the availability of any weapon surely allows more use of that weapon, but it doesn't really mean that there wouldn't be violence by some other means in the first place, nor does it mean that many people aren't protected from violence by the presence of firearms. So in the end that study means nothing, the ban wagon leads nowhere. If i dont have a gun i cant shoot someone, but i could stab them, which happens more often than shootings anyway, but once again some are only concerned about killing when it happens to several people at once, or when it happens to women, or etc etc etc. At that point it becomes sensational, it becomes a cause, over and over we here how low our crime rate is, how we shouldn't concern ourselves with crime perpetuated by certain segments of society because the statistics simply don't add up, but when it's about guns it's emotion first, numbers later. The gun registry was the perfect example of that, and it doesn't matter how many time we say it, you simply won't listen, so i fully expect that handguns will be banned at some point and the registry will be back. What will you blame after that proves to have been a fruitless exercise, and it will be, it's inevitable.
  14. I believe you are allowed to carry there unless the establishment asks you not to, but despite what you hear most people don't carry a gun even when they can, and even if someone had it's no guarantee of a better outcome. Personally i would prefer to have the choice.
  15. If that's where the majority of this crime is coming from isn't it time we pull our heads out of the sand and do something about it? It is not our responsibility to fix everyone from every shit hole in the world.
  16. Its working then? Good to know, how hip deep would we be in murderers if it wasn't for basketball? It's funny, i didn't know that gang members don't play.
  17. So you're saying that those knives got up and stabbed someone all on their own? Or was it that people used them to stab someone? Which again proves that people are the problem, not the weapons.
  18. I don't think he said anything terribly wrong by that, it will be used against him of course, but the point seems to be that the system you operate in has allowed you to be successful and therefore you have some responsibility to that system. Then again if you are changing the system by taking more money from people and spending it on new things or on more of them the system becomes something different.
  19. And yet MORE people are stabbed then shot in this country, and a couple of years ago MORE people were killed with a knife then a gun, doesn't really help the theory that were safer if they only use knives.
  20. Bullshit it isn't, go down the line and look at the vast majority of people and or groups that want to heavily restrict or outright ban firearms ownership and then tell me honestly that the vast majority of those people aren't left leaning, you're simply wrong on that one. The left is far too emotional and irrational when it comes to this issue, it has to be the guns, it couldnt be the failed polices of the left that has built these inner city communities where gun violence thrives, no never, couldn't be, blame the inanimate object. Easier that then reconsidering you're ideology. No doubt we need to build more basketball courts and pay single mothers even more to keep having children without fathers.
  21. No, it moves air around the home, this distributes the air more evenly keeping the whole home at a similar temp, so you aren't turning up the heat because its cold upstairs while its too warm downstairs, plus if you have a newer high efficiency furnace the fan uses very little energy.
  22. Careful, don't want to hurt those gang members feelings. It's funny how quickly you would say attack the government for fixing an election without evidence but then come to the defense of all the gang members who perhaps none of committed this crime, perhaps that sort of attitude is part of the problem. Stop worrying about how these 'poor' people came to be in gangs, and what the rest of us did wrong to make them that way, this is a great country with opportunity for anyone, if you can't make it here you can't make it anywhere, lets worry about what we can do to rid us of these vermin. Gangs or not.
  23. This is ridiculous, if you had s shred of honesty you would be saying the same thing of every left wing politician who cried for more useless gun control law every time someone was hurt or on every anniversary of some shooting, every year, just as Adam Vaughn was doing today, along with any number of other members of the ban brigade. Dancing on the graves of victims, some of them have made a living out of it, so please spare us.
