  1. Why do you continually feel the need to make these nit picking and irrelevant remarks? They add nothing but frustration, is trolling ok?
  2. It is an ethnic slur, the fact that nothing has been done about it reflects badly upon those in charge, but then letting the nuts run the show and then attacking those who get tired of it is a common forum problem.
  3. Which majority government in recent memory hasn't passed the legislation they wanted to pass simply because the opposition was against it? You may not like the process, but it isn't illegal, and this is just the way it is, i don't know if the liberals passed any omnibus bills, but i do know that if they wanted to pass a bill without modification they would have done so. While you seem to feel this is an affront to our democracy i would bet large that most Canadians don't care and those that do would care a lot less if it were not for it being the conservatives in power. There is a pretty large gap between your indignation and the concerns of most of us, pass it all at once, or pass them one at a time, maybe the problem is you don't like that the 'conservative agenda' is being implemented quickly as a result of this bill, perhaps that's why it bothers you so much. I know you realize that majority governments pass their bills without modification all of the time, maybe they shouldn't but it isn't abnormal.
  4. Can we all have a say or are those decision to be made buy the students alone? We were all students once, all young once, i don't remember having all of the answers or the most realistic viewpoints, luckily some of us grow up.
  5. Sometimes people like to over complicate things, if we send money to europe, are we not sending money to europe? If that is money we don't have will we not have to borrow it? I dont understand why we should pay to help countries that have better benefits than we do. It could be argued that we should have better benefits too, but that isn't the current reality.
  6. I prefer to think they are supporting freedom, people should have the freedom to dislike each other for whatever reason, it's up to the rest of us to do what is right, but we don't need thought or belief police in this country.
  7. Has there been some sort of decision made about the circumstances of the robocalls? Some of you make it sound like it has been decided who was responsible.
  8. I wonder if it has always been the case that art is determined to be art by a small group of people or if some art like the Sistine Chapel is art for all people simply because it is truly art. It seems like the former is more the norm today. Watching http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0912592/ only reinforced my beliefs that much of the modern art is simply decided to be art and the sort of people who buy it are simpletons.
  9. Supposing we agree that the accused was only charged with sexual assault but is guilty of the shooting, why does it matter so much that he wasn't convicted? Ok, he was under house arrest, and has a drug conviction, accused of sexual assault, we don't know anymore details, but he has a history, and now he's shot some people, i think the likely hood of some violent tendencies being visible before the shooting is fairly high. The idea of him being asked to work with children is insane in my mind. You seem to have a personal stake in this process, i know you're only attacking the wording of another poster, but as inflammatory as that might have been you're need to somehow defend this person or the system that put him under house arrest and allowed him to work with children instead of staying behind bars to await trial seems to be overzealous. The system isnt perfect, but i think its fair to say that it was pretty imperfect in this situation, 7 people have been shot as a result, and this guy was working with kids? Im not OK with that, regardless of how i feel about the justice system, that was indefensible before this shooting.
  10. Most forums aren't interested in allowing people to call a spade a spade. Personally i think that people who make ridiculous comments as those above do a lot more to take away from reasonable discussion then they do to add to it, but if you somehow attribute the stupidity of the comment, or many comments, to the intellect or lack thereof of the individual, you have crossed some sort of civility line. It seems to be a common problem in modern society that some feel the need to protect people from the reality of themselves, it sort of enforces the type of arguing we see in parliament, which everyone claims to dislike. Imagine a discussion forum where moderators called people on making obviously ridiculous statements, im sure there would be less frustration on the part of more sensible posters, and likely fewer insults.
  11. So you do believe that only silver spooners can be conservative? Its not true.
  12. There is no need to insult peoples imagined eating habits, but what if expecting people to pay their own way is good for the country, do you discount the possibility that there is value in working hard to get ahead? Is there no room in your beliefs for that? Is competition or getting ahead just dirty words to you? You do know that every living thing on the earth has to work for its own survival, why should any of us be any different.
  13. You're trolling right? You don't really believe that tax payers should support you indefinitely? Seriously, are you playing with people here?
  14. Can you provide a survey tha indicates 99% of Canadians think education should be free? Are these the same 99% that think the middle class is rich?
  15. So in a previous post you said that it was just someones opinion, the above is just your opinion, so why does it have to be believed or respected.
  16. Im concerned about people who have depended on the system their whole lives and are now at an age where moving or retraining, or traveling long distances to find work inst reasonable.
  17. That's a pretty big problem with the socialist mindset, do you actually believe anyone who is wealthy, or even comfortable and has conservative leanings was born with a silver spoon? That isn't fair. Oh, and i don't like some of the new EI rules either.
