  1. I’ll say that I’m on record as not trusting him or his motives. Some of the tech he’s into is appalling.
  2. I just went over an analysis on Telegram about this, maybe Musk IS trying to destroy Twitter. What I want to know is, did CNN destroy itself?
  3. Earlier than that, going off the gold standard and switching to fiat currencies enabled the current mess.
  4. https://www.cnbc.com/2022/07/12/founders-of-bankrupt-crypto-hedge-fund-three-arrows-go-missing.html “The co-founders of failed crypto hedge fund Three Arrows Capitalappear to be on the run from creditors, according to court documents recently filed in New York. Lawyers representing the creditors say the physical whereabouts of Zhu Su and Kyle Davies, who started Three Arrows in 2012, are “currently unknown,”“
  5. Haha, then there’s only one thing a ‘conservative’ like yourself can do, right? Vote for Trudeau. You’re so transparent.
  6. Ah, more trolling since that’s not close to what I said. Report yourself to Charles and go stand in the corner until he decides what to do with you.
  7. Apparently Abe had rejected some vaccine shipments, distributed Ivermectin and wouldn’t mandate vaccines. Also wasn’t a stooge of the WEF. Watch out Donald Trump.
  8. Yeah, the silence is speaking volumes though.
  9. Read and learn, all you scoffers.
  10. And yet another domino... https://www.cnbc.com/2022/07/11/how-the-fall-of-three-arrows-or-3ac-dragged-down-crypto-investors.html “As recently as March, Three Arrows Capital managed about $10 billion in assets, making it one of the most prominent crypto hedge funds in the world. Now the firm, also known as 3AC, is headed to bankruptcy court after the plunge in cryptocurrency prices and a particularly risky trading.”
  11. Okay, that’s weird. Poilieuvre didn’t do anything for me when he first announced. I thought he was trying too hard, wanted it too badly, and the CPC disqualified a few people from even applying for the leadership race, which looks bad on them. But I just watched the video above, and feel a lot better about him now. I don’t get a “rented” vibe at all. The video had some obvious marketing of a politician in it, but he comes across as a lot more genuine than say, Trudeau. What you see in that video is a real person, not some polished politician that acts the part of one. And The essence of what he’s saying, I agree with.
  12. Would a very rich shrewd person step into a completely different industry that he has no connection to, simply to destroy an organization? I don’t see it that way, but I suppose anything is possible.
  13. At this point all we can do is duck, me thinks.
  14. What Trump did was no different than every other president, democrat or republican, that had a pick to make for Scotus. The difference was he had 3 picks, since Ginsburg didn’t retire under Obama which would have been the safe thing to do. Stupidly, she wanted to retire during Hilary’s first term, which never happened. She made that decision at 82 or so, long past the age that she should have. That’s not Trump’s fault. I would also point out that the thread title makes a silly assumption. “…the president demands that the justices be controlled by him and a party…” It’s actually impossible for Trump, or any other president to make such a demand. Many past Justices, including Roberts(whenever it suits his fancy), have switched sides after getting on the bench. It’s actually a long held tradition, a contest for “sleeper” justices to appear one way in their career in hopes of getting a high court in which they can surprise the other side of the aisle with liberal or conservative philosophy. Edit: And no, I’m not saying it’s commonplace. It takes a devious mind on a level that puts its agenda ahead of ethics or anything else.
  15. So, 2 weeks later and mostly sideways performance out of the DOW, but definitely not strong performance. Maybe a typical summer? We’ll see what another interest rate increase does, later this week? I’m still waiting for China to sign a major oil deal with the ME. Then things will probably react in a big way.
  16. Blaming the little folks? Definitely trolling. I take it you are not ducking. Watch the movie. Good afternoon.
  17. I believe you are attempting to explain how it happened. To you and me, the little people faced with spiking inflation and the medical, tech, media and government sectors all full of the same kind of ethical collapse, it doesn’t matter how it happened. We are ducking to avoid the blow right now. Just like in the movie, The Big Short, the how comes after, it’s just the way of things. Also, it’s funny that you call yourself a conservative with links like that at your fingertips. You are either trolling or you’re a socialist/conservative who doesn’t like Trudeau. I wish I was making this up.
  18. It was an eye opening movie, you really should watch it if you haven’t. The financial system, to allow that kind of greed and risky investing labeled “AAA”, is morally bankrupt. And if the movie tale is correct, nothing has changed. And it’s on both sides of the isle. Bush was a disaster as was Obama.
  19. He’s back right now, he never went anywhere. Giving rallies and backing certain people in elections, apparently his picks have won over 90% of the time. As for Trump throwing his hat in the ring for 2024, no idea on that one. I’m hoping this has earned me a smiley face!
  20. Germany, Ukraine and Canada. I’m surprised Trudeau hasn’t stepped into the middle of this with demands and decrees.
  21. dialamah, read the above again. Surely you made your comment having not read my comment highlighted above. Because as far as I know, people don’t get hassled for the mild content above these days. I got disciplined for it in Jan ‘21. Like I said, they probably just changed the application of the rules again, they’ve done that a few times since 2005. I’d been gone for a while and hadn’t noticed...
  22. The Democrats held a fake hearing to investigate a fake insurrection to cover up a fake election.

I made a parody post of a typical Trumper response and then realized that you guys are serious. Holy crap. Amazing all this stupid could be in one forum.

And then you quickly deleted it.  If you can’t stand behind your posts, whatever your intention, you won’t be taken seriously.

      Donald Trump is classically Republican

a Yankee from New York City

as it was they who brought the Democrat Party plantations to heel

of course Canadians might be opposed to it

since Canada allied itself with the slave holders of the Confederacy at the time

just like the Liberals align themselves with the Globalist elites now

Canada feared & loathed Hiram Ulysses Grant too

even tho it was General Grant who saved Canada, by having the Fenians arrested in Buffalo

plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose

      MAGA

  23. President Biden has repeatedly called himself Vice President. He uses cue cards and can’t even get that right... BTW, Trump isn’t coming back in 2024. He’ll be back long before then, I can promise you that.(for the uninitiated, “I can promise you that”, is a Trumpism)
  24. Now that you mention it, insults do seem to be allowed. But I direct you to my quote above, which was relatively tame. I posted that, and some other similar posts, Jan’21, and was given repeated warnings and points. This is while I was being absolutely attacked by one of the other long time members around here, who went way over the line. What I see around here now is like open season. If they decided to change the rules(how many times have they done this since 2005? Bush league) yet once again, I suppose it would be par for the course.
