For sake of comparison.. NV's version of a "Stop the Steal" march was 12 people on a sidewalk in Carson City. With no opposition, they finally got bored and disbanded by 12 pm. In other cities out West, they had far larger crowds and far more contentious situations. Yes, the folks that live along Interstate 80 are fairly Conservative but not all that active in politics.

True. I find that these outspoken types get more purchase in the anonymous online setting. In real life, they stand out. Also, most online forums have a dedicated relative few that inhabit it. Yes, you can ignore on most forums. In real life, there are a myriad of things to do and so one preoccupy oneself with legit, practical life tasks and therefore ignore the outspoken types. I guess that is the primary reason that I will never leave Nevada. The outspoken, adamant political types here are relatively rare.

Of course, folks are going to say "greatest job growth in the history of the us". Factually, they are correct. Calcuate month over month or year over rates and do a sort of those calculated columns and the highest m-o-m and y-o-y values will be in 2021. The better litmus test is if you use 2019 q4 as your base not 2020 q1 or 2020 q2. If you really want to look smart then use QCEW not CES. CES (the jobs number that comes out monthly) is an estimate of future job growth. If you look at August CES data.. what you are reading is what they project jobs to be in August 2024. QCEW takes a more bit data skills to use though and has quite the lag hence why it is not the lead story.

You are correct. None of the impassioned diatribes on here ever have any demonstrable impact. No actual lawmakers read this. However, one only comes to a forum because they are quite outspoken, passionate, adamant, etc. The majority of voters are not nearly as passionate hence the disconnect. We held a town hall meeting yesterday. Not the most highly attended (35 from the public with 10 state employees). The lack of passion about politics was on full display.

I am not convinced that much changes if we have someone else in office. Most of the policies that really affected folks were done at the state level. Yes, there was the $300 federal unemployment bonus but the states ended paying that back. Before you blast away ( and I know that your diehard partisan bias keeps you from being rational).. I do not like Trump one bit. Was his verbal diarrhea counterproductive when the Covid pandemic first came about? Yes.

Folks spin topics all the time. Half-truths, omissions, etc are simply part of the political arena. Now was the economy starting to slacken in the months before Covid? yes. Had covid not occurred ,the unemployment rate probably creeps up a bit in the first half of 2020 to something close to 5%. The jobs number probably while positive sees month to month growth of .05% (+50k jobs). This probably gets Trump re-elected.

then explain how before mail in ballots.. the most urban counties out West were resoundingly Democratic. Now, show some true analytical chops and give us some actual data not subjective opinions. -
Donald loves the poorly educated

It makes sense that if someone is poorly educated or uneducated that they will buy into something without scrutinizing it much. However, saying that Trump's voter base is uneducated is hard to prove. -

Just because you show the ID does not mean that the ballot has the name, address, SSN, etc of the voter on it. Just because you have a volunteer check off a box is not enough for 100% accuracy.
