How about if we allowed for you to renew your grants but with less funding? No need to scrap it altogether and start from square one each year. Year 1 = grant funding of $15 million. Year 2 we only need 10 million so in theory.. we write in 10 million and some other items and call it good. But as it stands, some folks can't be fired unless they bomb the building (joking but almost true). We could easily replace them with no one. Their jobs are not that difficult and could be automated away. as for the contracts, we have tried to back out and then they sue and win. That would save a ton of cash and free up funds for things that really matter such as building improvements, database improvements, etc or we could simply have less expenditures.. i know.. what a grand idea.

I do not have a problem with Michael. Do not agree on all things but fairly tame in all respects. as of yet, I have not seen him peddling conspiracy theories. -
Musk has other irons in the proverbial fire and so any government work that he does will largely be ceremonial or for show. Any work that he does actually do.. he will want to be paid and if you want efficiency err.... lower costs of operating, the last thing you need is more expenditures on staff. For example, at our office we have folks that are primarily paid through federal grants. The reason that we never downsize them (even when they prove themselves to be nonessential) is that it is known that once we lose the positions.. they never come back. It is written in the fine print so no speculation. It would seem that if we had less staffing on our end and therefore less grant funding (and less paperwork), you could have less staffing on their end. Another issue is the mandatory contracts. We have to pay these overly expensive software contracts due to legality. Even after it has been shown that we do not need software x.. we are the government and can't back out. The contract says 10 years and so we pay the contract for all 10 years even if no one uses software X.

conspiracy theories are for those who have no evidence to actually explain something. -

In-n-out is ok. I would not say it is awful but definitely worth the hour long wait for. -

I am just reporting factual data. I do not live there so they can be what they want to be. All i know is that ada county was solid red in the 80's. George H Bush received 83 % of the votes in the county. While Trump won in 2024.. he received 53.8 % while Harris 43.4%. the margin was even closer in 2020. The county is only going to continue to grow.. it has water, space, and health care. -

Boise... is going blue. Major league population growth and unlike the past.. it is not the old and retired. It is the younger generation that is coming. The old, sleepy farm town of the past is no longer. I will be there in 2 weeks. -

When I worked there (2005), the staff was roughly 95% white. This was in Boise, Idaho by the way. It was a "training" store. So if you were training to be a store manager in Fort Morgan, Colorado (just an example) then you came to this store and trained. This resulted in us having the store manager, 2 assistant managers, and 6 training managers on staff. So we were always under the microscope of someone. Without fail, they were always trying to flex their managerial muscle. Mostly it was for show. They had no idea how lucky they were. To unload 4000 pieces of loose freight in 4.5 hours.. you have to be moving at a very high rate. Yet they had to complain and give us "talks". -

Could be. I would think that Trump would want more bang for their buck. This forum has such a small number of contributors and has such little impact. -

My dislike of Wal-Mart comes back to my time working there. It was undoubtedly the worst job that I have ever had. That is saying alot considering I have worked in fast food, restaurants, and janitorial. It was fairly individual though and someone at another store in the same position (unloading trucks) may not have had the same terrible experience. -

I do so already. However, it is due to price and location not politics -
Forum Villain Thread

I assume forum villain would be someone that agitates/provokes the most responses. Robosmith or WCM are easily the two most inflammatory. -

No. Unlike others.. I do not care even one iota if you got the jab or the booster.
