  1. My guess is that if Trump loses (which I still do not see happening), that he will dump all of his stock and Truth Social will cease to exist by 2025.
  2. The story about Haitians eating pets is yet another reason I have such a complete lack of respect for politicos.
  3. it was merely a formality and so Swift endorsing Harris is not going to change much.
  4. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cj4x71znwxdo that is the current state of affairs. Still two months to go though
  5. Its always interesting how someone decides who wins a debate.
  6. It was only a matter of time until she did.
  7. Hence why I added the word, "shootings". Like it or not, folks view stabbings different from shootings. Shootings are inherently less personal. Walk into a room, not know any of them, but still open fire and kill some or all of them. It speaks to a lack of control. Where as a stabbing, you have to be at most 12 inches away and most times someone has to stab the victim multiple times. The victim may have little to no control over the outcome depending on the situation but they can only stab one person at a time.
  8. Banning all guns, in theory, would cut down on the number of school shootings. But we have the second amendment and zero chance of it going away. So then we have to find other ways.
  9. I have no dog in the fight so do not care who wins the debate. If there is going to be a winner, it will be Trump. Mainly due to experience. This is not his first time in front of a camera to say the least.
  10. Hence why I think folks sometimes need a reality check. They whine about how terrible it is in America in 2024. maybe not perfect but plenty that is great.
  11. not saying that you have to move there. Visit one day. Fishing may not be what you are used to but the wide open spaces, gun culture, and folks letting their hair down is nice
  12. not sure about what you wrote but still you should try out NE California one day. The state might be very blue.. this corner is not. My kids and I venture out this way 4 or 5 times per year for fishing, hunting, and assorted mayhem.
  13. Most states are one party honestly. Very few have any balance. Nevada is one of the few where the outcome of an election is not a simple formality.
  14. A lot of California is very Conservative. Travel north of the Bay area and it gets pretty rural and Conservative. Ever been to Alturas, CA?
  15. I remember watching Montana play with KC play in the 1993 afc championship game against Buffalo. I was rooting for him and KC. How cool would it have been to see Joe Montana take on DAL with Troy Aikman. Anyways, barring injury Tyreek Hill ends up in the pro football hall of fame. He is already #52 in all time receptions and plenty of games left for him to play.
  16. I have no one NFL team that I root for every year. As for MIA, my guess is that they make the playoffs but lose in the WC round or possibly the divisional round. If there is a team that I am rooting for.. it is DET. Never been to a super bowl and only twice in the NFC championship game. I figure the Red Sox and Cubs of MLB ended their championship droughts.. why not the Detroit Lions?
  17. Hill is arguably the top WR in the current NFL. My guess is that his legal team will have a field day. That being said, he is not a great guy off the field. On the field, he is one of a kind.
  18. On a side note.. Hill kind of got the last laugh. He scored the TD that started the rally which won them the game. Now only 1 game of 17. Going to need him at his best next week against Buffalo.
  19. Once i got pulled over for speeding through a school zone. To say I was displeased is the understatement of the year. I was 22 and so you can figure out the rest. I was far less civil than Tyreek Hill and no one pulled me out of my vehicle. In the meantime, I was barking out all sorts of obscenities to the cop. I laugh at it now but having my tantrum in the car.. I destroyed the dashboard.. oops. The point is that Hill was not being overly aggressive or overly noncompliant.
  20. in short, the cop was operating on a bit of a short fuse. This would have flown under the radar in 1980 but not today. Everyone has a smartphone with a camera. Do not need be in network for this.
  21. housing affordability is a crisis everywhere except the midwestern US.
  22. Yeah.. no. I have rolled up the window while they ran the plates and such and when they come back, I roll it back down, get my ticket, listen to the schpiel, and moved on. No, I did not refuse but there was never any instructions as to have it up or down.
  23. Every time that I have been pulled over.. there has never been a single syllable about the window being up or down. Sure, Tyreek Hill was not being perfectly cordial but most people when they are pulled over are not just brimming with joy.
  24. Those who live in a downtown of a mid to major size city know that parades and public events are part of life. To say that they are completely unaware is foolish. If you find the parades so distasteful.. plenty of options and in most cases, less expensive options. Apartments in downtown reno are typically $300 tp $400 more per month than comparable units in the suburbs.
  25. For once, I will agree with the OP. The cops in this situation are going to face repercussions. In the bigger picture, this is why in most precincts.. they are having a hard time recruiting new police officers.
