Kirk Cameron and drag queen story hour
impartialobserver replied to Eli45's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
If I owned a bookstore.. I would not agree to have him speak. I would want my book store to be a place of business and not politics. -
Have the Feds lost their minds completely
impartialobserver replied to blackbird's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Where this pursuit of getting it right is really on display is hiring. Recently was promoted to a supervisory role. Words can't describe the mess that is recruiting someone, interviewing them, etc. The underlying idea is that we want to find the perfect candidate and so the proverbial hoops are our way of refining our search. Well, what a waste of time. I just started the process of hiring someone in October 2023... If all goes well, I will interview them in first week of October 2023. -
Ron DeSantis Flaming Out Already
impartialobserver replied to robosmith's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
When it comes to subjective opinions and predictions.. there is no gold standard. Therefore, all one can do is read a lot of them and try to synthesize something from them. My subjective opinion is that DeSantis has the money and gravitas to undertake a serious presidential campaign. As for if he will win.. no way of knowing -
to cut off the inevitable assumption of WCM.. I got vaccinated simply to avoid having to get tested every week and do a bunch of paperwork. Did I feel some sort of civic duty? No. Was it because I read stuff on CNN/CBC/Facebook? No again The policy at the office was that if you did not get vaccinated by July 2021 then you had to submit to testing every friday at 2 pm at a location in downtown. I chose to get the shots simply to avoid this hassle. Nothing all that complex.

Yes, it is a cop out. "programming" is what types you use instead of asking any questions or doing anything other than your standard binary logic (1 = completely agrees with me and therefore smart and good, 0 = does not align with me perfectly and therefore IQ of 20 and worthless). Besides, you assume like I am trying to prove you wrong and that I am actively seeking this information. If you must know, at the moment, I am downloading a data set that has 6 million rows and 144 columns and trying to figure out how to parse it.

"programming" This is the cop out that types like you use. If I do not align with you. then by default.. I am programmed. This is why I have zero respect for internet forum posters like yourself. You want affirmation above all else.. pretty weak stuff, honestly. I do not need your approval/affirmation nor that of anyone else on here or any forum. You do. Do you know where I get my dismissive attitudes about conspiratorial thinking? Hint.. it predates COVID by about 20 years...

Well, I gave you a chance. You could not answer a simple, straight forward question. You have zero evidence to back up this assertion. I was hoping that you would be not the usual internet forum poster who hides behind anonymity. I was wrong.. it happens. "for no other reason than "it conflicts with CNN/CBC's approved narratives" is the first sign of MSM victimhood. "

Hmmm.. and the population is about 100. One crime in a given year is going to appear major. If you do not understand the difference in crime stats between a place of population 100 and that of population 600K (just an example) then you are clueless. Your source has some issues. There are no neighborhoods in Bruneau. There is only 3 block section that has any housing of any kind. There is no east/west part of town..

Have the Feds lost their minds completely
impartialobserver replied to blackbird's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
do not know about Canadian Government but I work for a state government in the US and the issue is usually that they care so much about efficiency that they are paralyzed. You have to get it right and even if that demands that you take six extra months to do so.. its fine. The bureaucracy is supposedly a way to filtering out unnecessary stuff and getting a refined, efficient result... Well, it mostly does not work. -
I post because I like to discuss society as a whole. Simple enough? As for COVID, I find it amusing that when I make it clear that i am not passionate about it (and therefore brutally honest).. folks on forums go apoplectic. It must be because I am brainwashed.. there can be no other explanation. That tells me all I need to know about them.

Are Americans not as smart as Arabs?
impartialobserver replied to Eli45's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
Or is it that Americans do not care about speaking French? I have never taken any French and know next to nothing about it. Spanish... I used to be fluent but that was 20 years ago.
