Nope. It was originally explored by the conservatives as a potentially good idea. It sounds good on paper after all, But pretty quickly they realized it was a failure of an idea and the dropped it. And no the 'majority' didn't particularly think it was a good idea and pointed out the flaws. The gov't CLAIMED the 'majority' liked it but in reality the only ones who did were either working for the gov't or 'environmental' orgs directly or in directly. It's failure is on you. Conservatives and the same people knew long before it was introduced but it could not work due to problems with the elasticity of energy spending. And the liberals didn't even bother to make an estimate as to how effective it would be or put anything in place to track it. They knew it would be a failure day one.

Is The Trump Cult Fascist?
CdnFox replied to robosmith's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Cool! now do flat earthers -
Well no it isn't. Donald hasn't passed any new laws to restrict Kimmel. He hasn't even suggested that he should be prosecuted under existing laws. And I certainly haven't and I'm the one you were replying to So what's happened yet again is that you've realized you said something stupid, I have rubbed your nose in that and you feel completely stupid and angry and you're desperately trying to rewrite your argument so that it doesn't sound as amazingly stupid as it did. You cannot. This has absolutely nothing to do with first amendment rights. It says everything to do with a comedic person going too far and suggesting that the president should be killed or dead. But I really do honestly appreciate you stopping by and making you laugh
-
Let me know when you get there and we'll find out And yet I'm right and you're wrong. So what does that say about you? Also, 'stupid' isn't a restricted word here. They wanted you to feel included.

It is a hoax and a scam as we have demonstrated many times. "we can TAX the climate problem away, honest!" Yeah no. But that is not the same as claiming that if we do something productive about climate change that it will destroy the economy. It only points out that you and your friends make false statements in suggest fake solutions that achieve nothing harm the economy and line their pockets for no results. Which is pretty much the definition of a scam That's why so few people nowadays have climate changes their number one priority having seen the effect of left-wing climate policy to date and recognizing it for what it is

LOL you're too stupid to be able to actually explain your point because even YOU don't understand it and somehow it's my fault πππππ the problem here seems to be that even you don't understand it. And it's hilarious that you would try and pass off the idea that you don't think it's worth posting because I wouldn't understand it yet you actually did make two posts where you couldn't explain it which presumably you did because you thought I would understand it Utterly irrelevant. It is long been established that this in no way shape or form gives people the right to call for the violation of the rights of others. You cannot stand up and say we should kill the blacks and the jews. That would be advocating violence and a crime. However, you've managed to be double irrelevant. Nobody here has actually said that a law should be changed or that congress should take any action. I haven't seen anybody propose a 'kimmel' law or the like. So not only were you wrong to begin with, but you managed to be double wrong because you're talking about something nobody has even suggested You have somehow managed to condense stupidity into a more pure form Well done You still crossed the line and you're still defending it

Those are not the risks presented to the general public by the media or the politicians of the day. Our own prime minister said those who are vaccine hesitant are usually Misogynists and bigots and waste of space and will have to decide if we are going to tolerate them. There is no doubt that the vaccines were presented as being so close to being perfectly safe as to make no difference. People don't read the government web pages they listen to the reporters and the politicians when they speak So the government said it was safe and nobody should be hesitant to take it. That is the thing that happened here in Canada for sure. People who felt differently were mocked and ostracized. I think just from personal discussions and exposure to people's their thoughts that a lot of people were very afraid that in the event that turned out to be a problem even though the government had suggested it would be there for people that they wouldn't be. Read the article. The government hasn't even been able to process the claims yet. So what I can say with absolute certainty is that there were people who suffered ill effects which financially devastated them who have not received any compensation or help. I literally posted an article on it. The precise number is irrelevant because the point is this is what people feared would happen and it has happened Examples weren't honest about the risk. If anything they severely downplayed the risk. They suggested that the big risk is you might have a little bit of a irritation same as any other vaccine. But this isn't every other vaccine. So when they claim that the risk level is the same as any other vaccine that you would normally take that is not an accurate statement. That is actually extremely misleading. mNRA vaccines are nothing like existing vaccines. And when concerns were raised our gov't came back with "no no, safe and effective no cause for concerns" Trudeau, Tam say all vaccines are safe and effective after NACI guidance causes confusion | CBC News The language, the tone the manner and the repetition all sent the constant message that there's practically no chance of any risk We now know that's not true and the risks were higher than originally thought. . And fair enough, things change, knowledge becomes available But at the time many had fears the gov't was wrong about how safe it was (which turned out to be treu) But WORSE a lot of people were concerned if it turned out the gov't was wrong they'd leave affected people to fend for themsevles. And that has now turned out to be true as well.

Is The Trump Cult Fascist?
CdnFox replied to robosmith's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
No, obviously. The left really doesn't understand what fascism or Nazism or any of these things are. They just know that the word is bad and everybody thinks that the word is bad so they use it because they want to express an emotional state rather than accurately describe a circumstance. And we see this all the time. If the left doesn't like something then they call it a genocide or the like because everybody knows genocides are bad so if you call something a genocide it must really be bad. Here they constantly call people on the right fascists and Nazis because everybody knows fascists and Nazis are bad It's cheap and lazy thinking and perfect for a group that has abandoned facts and science quite some time ago unless they think it helps their argument at that moment. LOL i'm sure Robo thought it was highly intelligent and clever tho ROFLMAO! -
I'm saying that the public's distrust (and trust alternatively) was not JUST predicated on concerns over the vaccine but also concerns that the gov't wouldn't be there for people if it tunred out the concerns were valid (or, on the other side, had strong beliefs the gov't would be there if they were wrong, which have now proven false). Obviously this is somewhat Canada specific, but I think a big part of the problem was that the government was unwilling to admit that there was a possible risk in any meaningful way and absolutely did not Inspire confidence in a lot of people that if there was a risk or the risk was higher or some people unfortunately were affected that the government would care for them and they'd be left on their own. This is an important lesson. If we ever go through this again one thing the government could do to significantly encourage people to participate in vaccinations is to be honest That there may be risk and to provide convincing steps to show people that if they suffered as a result unexpectedly that the government would be there for them It may be separate things but there is a direct connection

Nobody anywhere has ever said anything remotely close to that. What we have pointed out is that you are damaging and crashing the economy without actually doing anything about climate change and that's a problem. The carbon tax did nothing and yet seriously impacted Canada's economy and now we have to deal with trump in a weekend state that you left us in. We can do to address climate change without destroying the economy. Everyone acknowledges that. This includes remediation and adoption as well. But nobody anywhere has ever said that if we do something about climate change it will destroy our economy, the problem is your solutions never work and that makes destroying the economy kind of pointless

B.C. man suffering reaction to COVID-19 vaccine still trying to get compensation | Globalnews.ca Just sayin'. I think for a lot of the people part of the problem was that they didn't trust the drug but even more so they knew but if a problem appeared with the drug and they suffered harm the government would dodge responsibility as long as humanly possible, preferably until they die
-
You got that backwards, you're the ones who keep claiming that our world and economy will collapse due to climate change, not us
-
Why would that be a problem? The report was extremely clear that the police are not the problem nor is there any indication whatsoever that the police have been infiltrated or are in sync with the white nationalists. It was simply a report that non police may co-opt or misinterpret some of these ads and to just be aware of it. There isn't even a call to action, it's just literally an awareness document so that when they're crafting their ads where possible they can lean away from known white supremacist imagery So there's really no problem here at all. This is simply "hey, white nationalists also use the same sort of appeal to patriotism as ICE and other gov't recruiting, be mindful of that if you can".
-
Colorado law enforcement is also not actually warning that the ice recruitment could "incite" anything. But you LWNJ's always need to lie or twist the truth It's probably fantasy to suggest that if they don't these ads will suddenly make the supportive I would guess that white nationalists (be they supremists or otherwise) would tend to approve of any policy that removed unlawful immigrants. I would further speculate that they also probably like policies that lower inflation or create jobs. It would certainly make sense. But the claim here is that the ice ads are able to be twisted by the more violent members of these groups such that it makes them feel like ice is sympathetic and they may choose to infiltrate ice, so ice should be mindful of that and keep an eye out, and to be careful not to make it sound like the threat justifies vigilante actions And while it certainly isn't a bad idea to put that thought in people's minds so that they are aware and can watch for Bad actors at the same time I think it's pretty obvious that these groups are going to twist literally anything that is remotely anti illegal immigration towards their cause. Rationalism has always and forever been a component to recruiting for federal law enforcement or the military. The paper was quite clear saying that it is extremely obvious that ice is not attempting to appeal to white nationalists specifically and that their intent is to appeal to patriotism. It's good to remind them not to inadvertently make it easy for the nationalists but there's really not much of a story there.

This is absolutely new you lying sack of crap. An mou is not an official agreement. Neither side is bound to it.. And it absolutely makes a difference as to whether or not you can see the terms of the agreement. What if the terms were "RCMP agrees to ignore any reports of alleged election interference"? We would have absolutely no idea It's pathetic how desperate you are when you try and claim that a deal that we have absolutely no knowledge of is exactly the same as an agreement in principle that we can read word for word. And no they have said they're not going to release it

The Right Wants You To Forget They Are Racist
CdnFox replied to robosmith's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Actually what he said is true. I'm not a million percent sure that it's appropriate to tie it to a race rather than an ethnicity, I tend to think that's more of an ethnic badge of honor rather than racial, but what he said is absolutely true. Perhaps he's not the one with the educational problem If you dispute what he said make an argument. If all you can do is say something which Next slower makes you look slightly less educated than him then I wonder what's the point of speaking up in the first place? The only way he can win an argument is by arguing with himself. I mean you didn't think he was going to get anywhere arguing against what YOU say did you? leave the guy alone -
Which part of science is most important to you?
CdnFox replied to Deluge's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I'm not sure it's science that's driving that. -
building Chinese cars here in Canada....
CdnFox replied to Army Guy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Chinese cars are very heavily subsidized by the state. There's no "free market" there. Swing and a miss Well if you actually read what you posted he doesn't want Chinese cars. He wants american manufactured cars and he's open to china doing manufacturing in America. Not quite the same thing. If china wants to open a vehicle manufacturing plant and hire Americans to build cars for American consumption like Kia or toyota currently does then of course he's fine with it. Why wouldn't he be. we would be too. But he's been clear that you will not allow important vehicles les from china. -
One where we don't know the details? LIke. Who. Name one we have a SECRET arrangement with. And nowhere does it say they're secret or the details are kept from the public for any of those other 60. Why yes we do!!! Here it is, you can read every single word of the text and agreement! Nothing is hidden! We can all see clearly what was agreed to! View Treaty - Canada.ca Why yes it is! HERE'S THE TEXT View Treaty - Canada.ca So i can find the signed text of the German agreement, and the French agreement and every other agreement. So why is it ONLY CHINA that we need a super secret agreement with for the RCMP?!? As always, you're a dishonest, lying Dick. we don't have "Secret rcmp" agreements with other countries that I can see, all of the other ones you can look at the text and see what we've agreed to. Except china , But you tried to pretend that wasn't true. Why do we have a secret RCMP deal with china?
-
Means we should have at least as good as gear as their far weaker opponents. LOL nonsense. Both Korea and Vietnam had the us or allies up against china which was by no means whatsoever a 'weak' opponent How laughable! Yeash kid read a history book. We don't really have any of those. We're so short on ammo that the soldiers buy their own to practice, we have zero drone capacity or experience, and we MIGHT have guns but i'm not actually sure we have enough of those either, considering we just ran out of rucksacks ffs. well... that WOULD require us to get all of the bad guys to stand directly around the plant and that might be problematic, but it's as sound a plan as most of your other ones so sure

Greatest 4-D chess ever!
CdnFox replied to paxamericana's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
But they are. Given the proximity and nature of the deployment any such move could easily result in Poland and American forces directly contesting that or moving into ukraine or even belarus while Russian forces were tied down in those other countries. That would all be a disaster for the russians. Yikes. How did you not see that. Nobody expects you to play 4d chess but you're failing at 1 d checkers somehow -
What's good for the goose is what's good for the gander. Obama's weaponizing of the fBI to attack trump with absolute lies did not bother you in the slightest. You didn't say a damn thing. Hillary's manufacture of a fake dossier and weaponization of the FBI to attack trump was perfectly okay with you. Not a single thing said and Lefty's all over defended it. The fake Russian allegations that went on for 3 years which turned out to be absolutely bullshit, the FBI literally being charged with criminal charges and convicted for manufacturing false information to try and get trump all of that was fine with you The obviously and painfully ridiculous fake charges they tried to claim trump was a felon for. Not a single peep from you Now, after having ignored all of that you want to point the finger at trump and conservatives and say we're the ones that are ignoring this kind of weaponization Kid. You reap what you sow. All of this was perfectly fine with you and now the republicans who said again and again that you absolutely shouldn't do this because there will be payback one day have zero sympathy when you complain about it now If you steal and steal and steal from somebody Everyone to be okay with it you cannot be upset when they decide to steal from you and return because you have already insisted that theft is not a crime Biden was slimy as hell and nothing you can say about trump changes the fact that the democrats were first and thought it was just fine Zero. And Flynn is not trump.
-
Considering how befuddled he was, and considering we know there must have been puppeteers pulling his strings behind the scenes given his advanced mental health issues, I'm wondering if we can even call it the Biden Administration. We may never know who's administration it actually was. But either way you're right, they were slimy as hell "I know you are but what am I?" Wow. You've taken your comebacks up to a grade two level, nice to see you trying to achieve new heights
