I just want to start off by saying that in my opinion doom and Bloomers was more exciting Moving on to the topic at hand, we're not really talking about specifically whether or not tariffs will wind up being a good thing. We were actually talking about the fed rate and inflation. Tariffs may turn out to be a wonderful thing. Let's assume that they are for the sake of this discussion. But even if the long-term net benefit is good one thing that is 100% undeniable is that tariffs will have an upward pressure on inflation. And as I mentioned it's not the only thing, the current level of government spending will also have a strong upwards pressure on inflation. You cannot spend that much and not have an upward pressure on inflation, I can explain that in detail but at the end of the day it's the way it is. So that's two major pressures on inflation. And let's assume the economy starts actually heating up as you postulate. As I'm sure you're aware a thriving economy also puts upward pressure on inflation. If the fed were to lower its rates that would also put a great deal of upward pressure on inflation. We're talking big time, interest rates are one of the primary methods of controlling inflation. So the point is lowering the fed rate now could very easily be like striking a match to the powder keg of inflation that the country is already sitting on. That's why they're reluctant to do so
-
Well First off it takes a solid six months for that to show up fully as inflation. So those inflation pressures are going to be going up anyway. In addition a number of suppliers admitted that they were eating the tariff essentially initially but have stopped doing so so there is going to be increases. And in fact it's worth nothing that inflationary pressures right now are above target and are a concern. Which is why the bank he's reluctant. Inflation isn't rampant like it was under Biden but it is high and unfortunately that inflation is occurring on those already inflated prices from Biden. So people are struggling.

Common Sense Voting Laws?
CdnFox replied to Nationalist's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
And here's the thing. It's not like the laws being proposed aren't in use in other countries including Canada. And there's this strange idea that somehow nobody should ever have to expend any energy whatsoever in order to vote. With making you get personal I D It is so discouraging to these people that they couldn't possibly imagine doing it in order to vote then I've seriously questioned whether they should be voting in the first place. If they were genuinely concerned they would be out there forming groups to make it easy for people to get any ID they need. The fact is the Democrats see this I was being away to weed out illegals and illegals have always benefited them -
Common Sense Voting Laws?
CdnFox replied to Nationalist's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
I think they are probably saying that and they're probably not wrong. So what's your point? Fair an free elections? Well.... sort of i guess. Isn't it supposed to be a left wing thing as well? -
FBI Raids Fulton County Elections
CdnFox replied to gatomontes99's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Something I've said here a million times. If the left doesn't like the law, then they should have changed the law and should be aiming for change now. That is how things are done. Obama should have changed the law, or biden should have. IF you want these people to be legal. And whenever that is brought up the left wing posters here run and hide. They are well aware americans by and large do NOT want the law changed. So they don't want to bring it up. They just want to leave the laws in place BUT ignore them. "NOBODY IS ABOVE THE LAW! Except people we like" - the left -
FBI Raids Fulton County Elections

Bit of a lie. Just like people on your side of the fence insisted that he claimed there would be blood in the streets if he lost but that's not really what was said -
The UN is largely about grift and optics. I mean seriously when was the last time it did something actually extremely useful and productive? It's basically become the Facebook of Nations Those who are not getting sufficient grift from it are uninterested in spending their country's money on it and currently that includes America. I doubt the grift is going to stop anytime soon so I suspect magically they'll find a way to continue

Why Are We Doing This U.S. Vs. Canada Thing?
CdnFox replied to Zeitgeist's topic in Canada / United States Relations
But that's trump. And to be blunt his tendency to go outside of diplomatic norms is one of the things that got him elected especially the first time. It's to be expected, it's baked into the cake- 223 replies

If they lower interest rates it will drive inflation pressures up substantially. That's why they're resistant. The massive amounts of government spending happening right now already put a lot of upward pressure on inflation, and whether you agree with them or not the tariffs also put a certain pressure on inflation and that's just starting to have a serious impact now because it takes a while for that to show up in the supply chain If they lower interest rates I think you would see inflation becoming extremely serious and that's not good for America or Trump

Why do I always have to explain things to you like your five when you get emotional? Did you not have the brains to graduate elementary school? It's insulting to ask questions that are this stupid I was very clear, the problem I have with it is that when harper was forced to do it he created a plan back to balance budgets with year after year goals and he actually did exactly that. I delivered us back to balance Budget on time and hit the targets every year. That is a fiscally responsible thing to do. It gives business the confidence to invest, and it shows the public that you're doing the right thing, and it actually produces very real results Connie has no such plan and is in fact accelerating spending. That is the issue which was mentioned earlier. And no, Prior to harper the law said Ontario could not collect Equalization payments!!! Harper changed that and for the first time in history Ontario got equalization payments!!! COST ontario?!?! He was the one who GAVE it to them!! You're such a liar! You lie about everything and then you turn around and demand to know where you lied. Honest to god I don't know how you can live with yourself. If I was as dishonest as you I honestly wouldn't be able to hold my head up in public. "harper took equalization away from ontaro".... FFS!!!!! They only got their first ever equalization payment in 2009, YEARS after harper was first elected. The problem with Canadians today is they don't have a sense of honor or self-respect. Nobody could lie like you do if they did

No, that's not what that word means. You heard that word and at some point you decided that that word is a really bad word and that it's really wrong for people to do that so like many on the left you know run around using it without understanding what it means thinking that if you say it somehow it makes what the other person said wrong without you having to actually address the argument You're currently operating at a 14-year-old mentality. See if you can bump it up a few years, it's depressing to watch you like this Not at all. I never claimed that harper never ran deficits. But harper was forced into a deficit by circumstance, which is what you claim is happening now. And I pointed out that when harper was forced into deficit he actually had a plan and lead us back to balanced budgets successfully while keeping up and increasing federal transfers. So when you claimed that the conservatives couldn't do it I pointed out the conservatives did do it NOOOOWWWWW you're trying to claim that what i said was that conservatives never ran a deficit You want me to forget what i actually said and get confused and think you're right about what i said when it's a lie And THAT kiddo is what gas lighting actually is Well done! And i'm about 40 IQ points too smart for that.

Carney Articulates The New World Order In Davos
CdnFox replied to Zeitgeist's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I am sorry brother but we need to face the fact that your last statement there is probably not true. I don't think you appreciate how badly trudeau damaged the country. Economically and in may other ways. The 'other ways' might possibly heal over time but the economic damage is foundational. And carney is making it worse. The amount of money being borrowed is going to permanently cripple us very quickly. Within a few years we literally will be unable to recover from the kind of debt that he's talking about shy of literally declaring bankruptcy and starting again and accepting a much lower standard of life Business is not going to invest here. And I don't honestly believe he's even trying I think he's out there selling his own brand right now and not trying to boost the fortunes of Canada. I don't believe that you and many other Canadians realize how bad this is. People look at the projected 1% GDP growth and think that's really bad but it's not the end of the world but you don't see what's underneath those numbers. I'm afraid all that we've achieved has probably already been thrown away. At least for the next two generations. If we get rid of Carney in the immediate future and I do mean immediate and start doing all of the right things then maybe we can keep that to one generation But that's not likely. I'm afraid Canada might very well be a lost cause and I see very little to give me hope otherwise -
Uhhh we were talking about bqtteries kiddo LOLOLOL Did you get confused again? Quick - Is it rabbit season or duck season? LOL And as usual you're wrong. canada import food how much - Google Search Canada imports approximately CAD $52 billion to $65 billion worth of food and seafood annually, representing about 30% of the food and beverages consumed in the country. All the links are there to prove that data. 30% is a lot but no, we don't import 68% of our food that we eat here. BATTERIES!!!! YES you remembered!!!! IS that because you went back and looked it up and realized we weren't talking about food??!?! And you're STILL wrong!!! LOLLOL I never said anything about whether or not they're still producing, i said the liberal gov't (carney included) invested billions into it to attract EV Manufacturing here and now that's all up in smoke!! OOOOPSIEEE!!! You're wrong again kiddo and it's all because you can't read and comprehend simple english Were you done looing like a twat for the day or did you have something else you wanted to be wrong about? I DO love the entertainment, feel free to continue
-
Always do. You just have serious reading comprehension problems. It's among the many lies that carney told and then backtracked on later. Remember when he guaranteed to get a deal done by July with trump? Although in fairness I don't recall him saying July which year but it was kind of implied it might have been that year Your problem is that your entire personalities tied to carney. You see yourself as a failure and you see him as a winner so you believe that if you tie your self to him but somehow you'll magically be a winner too Then when he fails it absolutely destroys you. Not only tied to a failure, but you're the failure who picked the failure in the first place This is why you're such a mess. We can only hope that you grow out of it eventually
-
Then you're talking about yourself. What you said wasn't a little bit untrue. It was a blatant falsehood. He said we shouldn't be accepting as many Refugees. And you said we accepted tons of American refugees when we never actually accepted american refugees. That is absolutely not pedantic, you absolutely said something completely and substantially untrue and now you're mad that you've been caught at it and rather than just simply accept the correction and admit that you were wrong you've gone on like a baby filling his diapers whining about it and now insist that it's my fault that you lied. So if you want to talk about pedantic quibbling look in the mirror
-
I literally proved what you were saying is wrong. And I used your own link. You could have posted proof of your allegation the moment I asked, I asked nicely and everything I didn't call you names Then you went on arguing for three posts before finally posting an article that proved I was right. And you're claiming I'm arguing for the sake of arguing? There is something wrong with you So some guy claims that somebody else said something and you're offering this is proof. Yet he hasn't provided any sources from the Israelis either And the source you provided says the Israelis agreed that with the numbers approximately the whole way along based on their estimates. But question whether or not Hamas was being accurate. You literally have just picked someone else to lie instead of you. Not helpful
-
Oh you mean the one that you posted after my last reply, when you avoided posting anything for several times? That's pretty dishonest of you The article does not support your position. I take it you didn't actually read it you just did a quick search and posted the first article that sounded like it supported your position The article says that in the past it 'cast doubt' on the numbers. Not said they were wrong. Don't means that it's unreliable. In addition it specifically says this about what they previously claimed: " Israel has always disputed the Hamas figures and said before last year's ceasefire it had killed 1,600 fighters since 7 October 2023 and another 22,000 combatants in the war. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) previously said it believed two or three civilians had been killed for every dead militant." So. I know math can be challenging but 22,000 + 1600 Is 23,600. That's how many fighters they say they killed. Not total people but fighters And for every one of those there were two civilian deaths, possibly three. So even if we go with their low end we take 23600 and multiply it by 2 and add that to the total That's 70,800 total casualties. Remind me what the Hamas number was again? As I suspected, I caught you lying once again. The BBC is trying to spin it to make it sound like Israel has said these numbers were wrong but their own article proves that what they were saying was that Hamas was probably fairly accurate but it was questionable and the precise number was in doubt That is a far cry from claiming they disputed these numbers all these years. I greatly appreciate you posting the proof you're a lying sack. Next time maybe try with the truth
-
You mean the truth and the facts. Your claim is that we admitted american refugees during that time by the hundreds of thousands therefore we shouldn't be reacting to admitting american refugees now. But.... we didn't admit american refugees as you claimed. So you completely lied to try and make a point and now you're mad at me for pointing out that what you said was false Own your own stupidity kid Now you'll try to deflect to something else because you're so embarrassed at having been shown to be wrong yet again ROFLMAO!!! And right on cue WHEEE LOOK AT HIM GO!!!

Don Lemon going to be charged under KKK Act!
CdnFox replied to User's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
He's not even an activist, he's more like a media populist -
Then why is it you can't point to a single example. Sounds more like you're making it up and lying. First off The war started at the end of 2023. So it's really only been 2 years. So your claim that they've been disputing these numbers for years and years now is obviously dishonest on the face of it And you would have no issue showing that Israel disputed these numbers if in fact it was as ubiquitous as you claim If you have to be dishonest to make your point you don't have a good point
-
No and that totally wouldn't apply here as a term. Don't make me explain English to you again During the worst world wide economic downturn in history since the great depression. And with the liberals threatening to join with the NDP and take over the government if they didn't But harper's leadership meant that canada had one of the best responses in the entire world, the papers were full of international praise, and he laid out a 5 year plan to recovery with set goals each and every year. And he hit them every single year and finished with a balanced budget And he kept up medical transfers and services the whole time. THAT is what a conservative can do. trudeau on the other hand literally doubled our entire national debt and now carney is saying "hold my beer' and trying to one up him. Covid was a much smaller financial disaster, it had 'built in recovery' with people rushing out to spend the moment it was over, and the liberals are STILL borrowing more money than EVERY OTHER PRIME MINISTER COMBINED about once every 5 years at the current rate. Beaver - you're a liar. And you should be ashamed.
-
If by years ago you mean 2025, sure. And you remember all those deals that your liberal masters did to bring battery plants here? ooopsie! That's money wasted And it's going to impact ICE manufacturing as well. You DID say something otherwise. You said the exact opposite. I was the one who said ford isn't happy with this and is putting on a brave face for Carney, YOU said "even ford recognizes it's a great idea". No he doesn't and you were wrong yet again
