Maine has different laws; their law says that if someone challenges somebody’s eligibility to be on a ballot, it’s the Secretary of State who MUST decide. So she heard both sides, read the U.S. Constitution, saw that the little tub of shlt threw his rebellion and failed, so then she did her job, like she was supposed to. Now her decision goes to court, which the little tub of shlt is allowed to do, and we’ll see what his friends on the Supreme Court say. Most likely, they’ll agree that insurrection is just dandy if you’re one of their friends.

Are you an expert on Maine’s election laws? When Trump claimed that Obama’s birth certificate was fake, it was the Secretary of State of Hawaii who was the final authority on the subject. He issued a formal letter stating that he had visited the State Archives, that he personally inspected the original birth certificate, and that it was genuine. Secretary of State had the job of establishing Obama’s Constitutional eligibility to be President. Not Congress. Not the Supreme Court.

Their leader, Enrique Tarrio, has since been sentenced to 22 years in prison for Seditious Conspiracy.

Obviously, you cannot punish people for participating in an insurrection which succeeds. So, OBVIOUSLY, the prohibition of insurrection pertains ONLY to failed or attempted insurrections.

There were people who said Brown v Board of Education was the end. After all, here’s the Supreme Court telling Kansas and other states that their laws which segregated schools were not allowed, and then President Eisenhower enforced this court ruling with National Guard soldiers. That’s what you’re complaining about, right? The fact that democratically-elected legislatures cannot pass certain laws, because 5 of 9 judges say that a 230 year-old document says they cannot.

So you agree that the Constitution does not say that a conviction is required to disqualify an insurrectionist. And, there is a reason why the Constitution does not require a conviction: Civil War veterans were not tried for participating in the war, yet they were barred from being office holders, IF they had sworn an oath to defend the Constitution.

Question: If this entire crowd was Iranians who were trying to stop election certification to install a different person for President, would that be equally ok with you?

Do you think the West doesn’t spy on China as well? I have been strongly opposed to Chinese outsourcing for decades. In my career, I’ve steered our outsourcing to Mexico and Taiwan over China. And when I was required to use Chinese outsourcing, I instituted very strict and robust security protocols. I’ve refused to shop at Wal-Mart for decades, because I know they force American factories to shutter and outsource to China. Wal-Mart has been a massive massive cause of this. My point is that today, given the situation we put ourselves in, my opinion is that de-escalation is superior to escalation. Talking about China using the language of war will only lead to war, with horrific consequences for our nation. It is not the wise strategy. If we corner China and force them into a war, we will get a war. If we offer a way out which allows both nations to continue with our economic interdependence, we can grow our economies and live peacefully.
