Trump Plays the Birther Card on Nikki Haley
Rebound replied to Rebound's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Canada can have Ted Cruz back, but because Cruz was born to an American citizen mother, he was born a US citizen under US law. -
I think he is correct. If two people plot to kill someone and buy a gun with the purpose of committing the murder, the gun purchase is definitely evidence. For instance, if there’s a recorded conversation about planning the killing, and in the recording the one guy says, “I’ll go buy a gun tomorrow so we can kill him,” and the next day he buys a gun, that’s definitely evidence of conspiracy to murder.

Well so diddly-do-what? You are saying something truly nonsensical: That, since it is theoretically possible that a major, closely-watched, national election was somehow stolen, over 10,000’s of precincts without leaving a shred of evidence… then WHAT, exactly? Huh? Then it’s ok to violently attack the United States Congress? In the world of FACTS: 1) No evidence exists that the election was stolen. And when I mean “no evidence,” I mean, NOT ONE SINGLE PRECINCT has been overturned. NOT ONE. Can you get that through your thick skull? A precinct is only 1,000 to 1,500 people. Not one precinct was overturned. Not one county. Nowhere, in all of the elections across the nation, was widespread fraud detected. NOWHERE. 2)Trump admitted in advance of the election that he would not accept its results if he lost, he told the Proud Boys to “stand by,” and he stated before the election that he would not abide by the peaceful transfer of power, AND TRUMP DEFNITELY DID NOT ABIDE BY THE PEACEFUL TRANSFER OF POWER. THE TRANSFER OF PRESIDENTIAL POWER WAS ANYTHING BUT PEACEFUL. 3) It is FACT that Putin interfered with the 2016 election to Trump’s benefit, AND IT IS FACT THAT: Giuliani had advance knowledge of the release of hacked DNC records TRUMP asked Russia to release Hilary Clinton’s stolen emails, and TRUMP promised to reward Russia greatly if they released those emails, and Russia did, in fact, release those stolen emails shortly afterwards -
No blow is too low for Donald Trump, who this week began peddling the claim that Nikki Haley is Constitutionally ineligible to serve as President, because her immigrant parents were not yet citizens at the time of Haley’s 1972 birth in South Carolina. Trump, who is himself Constitutionally ineligible to serve as President, has also falsely claimed that Barack Obama and Ted Cruz were born overseas and Constitutionally ineligible to serve as President. Meantime, I await for the day when the MAGA wake the F up and realize that Donald Trump is a conman who’s been lying to them for years about practically everything. https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump/posts/111721484609384209

What is the proof you have provided? My proof is the quotation of Federal law. Without giving you a law school class, I’ll simply explain that seditious conspiracy covers a wide range of conduct and results. The 22 year sentence handed down to Tarrio, and I believe 17 years handed to Rhodes, demonstrates that their conduct was on the most severe end. As is true in any other form of warfare, the generals don’t do the actual shooting, but “I didn’t shoot anybody, I was just giving orders” doesn’t work any better than “I was only following orders” as a defense.
-
Of course they’re close. Duh. “Sedition is conduct or speech that incites individuals to violently rebel against the authority of the government. Insurrection includes the actual acts of violence and rebellion.” In US Federal Law, seditious conspiracy covers BOTH insurrection and sedition AND requires proof of conspiracy: ”If two or more persons in any State or Territory, or in any place subject to the jurisdiction of the United States, conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof.” QUESTION: How comes I keep quoting US Federal Law to you, and you never do? Your approach seems to be to deny that US Federal Law exists.

Hunter Biden is facing possible Contempt of Congress charges because he has refused to testify to Congress in secret. To be clear, Biden has agreed to testify publicly before Congress. He has refused to testify secretly because he believes that politicians will selectively leak to the media portions of his answers, taken out context. He therefore offers to testify in public, with all video cameras rolling and a full public record of his testimony. Of course, this is all for show, because the Congress’ only authority is to refer the matter to the DoJ for prosecution. Although this would then be referred to the Special Prosecutor tasked with Hunter Biden, it is unlikely the SP will want to take a case to test whether or not Congress has the right to compel SECRET TESTIMONY. It seems very doubtful that Congress has such a right, especially in the case of an individual whom Congress is seeking to punish. The fifth amendment protects the right of the accused from testifying against him or herself, although Biden has already stated that he will answer any and all questions, as long as it is done publicly.

Dude, Conviction of crime based on Federal law and Evidence of the crime judged by a jury, with full public disclosure and right of appeal. This is really f-ing simple: You are evil, and you are lying to defend convicted criminals. You have not bothered to learn what laws these people broke, what evidence the jury saw, and what reason you have to prove their innocence, even though it’s all public record. IOW, you don’t know what the F you’re talking about at all, you’re just blabbering that criminals are innocent because they’re on your “team.” There’s good guys and bad guys, and you’re one of the bad guys. Simple as that. I’m not claiming that hundreds of convicted criminals are innocent, you are, evil one.

Yes, I certainly hope that the minute another Republican breaks the law, he will be charged with the crimes he or she committed. As you know, Senator Menendez is being charged with serious crimes and so is George Santos. One is a Democrat and the other Republican. And the President’s son has been indicted. As they should be. You don’t hear a bunch of Democrats whining about Robert Menendez being politically persecuted. Let me point out something to you about Donald Trump which you probably do not realize: Every single time he is accused of wrongdoing, he immediately makes the exact same claim about the person accusing him. Every Single Time, and you haven’t figured it out.

Is Hate Speech Free Speech?

Trump wasn’t convicted because his case hasn’t reached trial. The prosecutors did not charge him with seditious conspiracy relating to January 6 because they chose the four charges which they felt were easiest to succeed with. They still have the option to add seditious conspiracy to the list of charges if they wish. This is called prosecutorial discretion. -
Ending democracy is Trump’s intent. When the man says he’ll be a dictator on Day One, believe him. His plan to say the election was stolen happened before the election. His plan to fight the peaceful transfer of power began before the election. When he lost the Iowa caucus to Ted Cruz, Trump said it was because of election fraud. He had every intention of staying in the White House after losing the 2020 election and didn’t agree to vacate the office until January 7, 2021. He still doesn’t accept his defeat despite providing no evidence to the contrary. And Trump thinks he has absolute immunity from criminal prosecution, while Biden does not. He ran for office promising to lock his political opponent in jail over classified documents, then he stole a mountain of very highly classified documents, refused requests to return them, then hid them from his own attorneys and lied under oath that he’d returned them all. There is something badly wrong about Donald Trump and the people who vote for him.

Your use of “not possible” makes no sense. The election was not stolen. Trump STILL keeps claiming he has evidence which he’s never shown anybody. When will you finally realize that Trump’s been deliberately lying about it all along? -

Trump is charged with 91 felonies. That’s far more than enough to put him in jail for life. -

People were convicted in the Whitmer kidnapping case. People were convicted in the Russia collusion case: Giuliani and Stone both had advance knowledge of the release of materials stolen from Hillary Clinton’s campaign. And People were convicted up to 22 years in jail for the January 6 insurrection -

I don’t think that, in the US, printing a pamphlet calling for genocide is a crime, and yelling it in public cannot get you arrested. That’s how it stands today, under court ruling. Apparently, only a Constitutional amendment or a different Supreme Court could change that. -

I know there was a Delta variant that came in a second wave and killed a lot of people, and then Omicron became the prevalent strain and it was far more transmissible but much less deadly. The original two variants, Alpha and Delta, were replaced by the far more transmissible, but less deadly Omicron. Plus, very high proportions of the most susceptible age groups were vaccinated, making Omicron even less deadly. New York was hit hard because of very high population density, it’s the crossroads of the world (LOTS of international and domestic travelers coming and going), it got hit very, very early, when the virus was its deadliest and there were absolutely no vaccinations, and insufficient availability of PPE. That’s what happened. -

Of course you aren’t convinced! After all; we saw with our own eyes the live video of a violent riot consisting of people who were trying to stop the certification of the Electoral College. But you say we didn’t see it. We did see it. Now you say there was no insurrection that day, yet people were convicted of seditious conspiracy. So you say that all of their convictions were false. It’s obvious that you do not accept reality. Whether that is from an in-born neurological defect, a learning disability, too many punches to the head, extensive drug use… I cannot say. But the facts are clear: It is extremely difficult to convict someone of seditious conspiracy. Not only does the prosecution need to prove that the person engaged in sedition, the prosecution must also prove that the accused did so deliberately in concert with other individuals. You cannot be convicted of seditious conspiracy if you act alone. The Proud Boys were highly organized on January 6. They left Trump’s speech very early, in order to surveil the Capitol for weaknesses. They used radio communication to select the most vulnerable points to attack to gain entry to the U.S. Capitol. When one point failed, they coordinated to attack a different point. There is extensive evidence of these facts, leading Tarrio to not only be convicted of seditious conspiracy, but to rack up the maximum punishment allowable by law for the act.
