  1. I read this story today about a girl named Gypsy Rose. She was let out of prison after serving seven years for conspiring to kill her mother. Now, she didn’t kill her mother, her boyfriend did. But when you aid and abet and conspire, you become an accessory and equally liable to criminal prosecution. Trump knows perfectly well that every time he attacks a prosecutor, witness, judge or court staff on Truth Social, that person receives death threats. He knows this, and he doesn’t care one bit. In fact, it’s likely that he’s happy about it. That’s culpability as well.
  2. You cherry-picked a month old article. But that article was actually positive. It was explaining that the Federal Reserve’s “soft landing” strategy was working, and your source confirms this in an article one month later: “Dec 29 (Reuters) - The final month of 2023 featured a rush of data about the health of the U.S. economy and the state of price increases that a number of Federal Reserve officials saw as reassuring signs that their long fight against inflation was on track to end with a "soft landing." The year began with widespread expectations among economists, and many Fed officials themselves, that a recession would unfold under the weight of aggressive central bank interest rate increases. It came to an end with many confident that outcome could be avoided.” “Annual inflation by the Fed's preferred Personal Consumption Expenditures Price Index fell to 2.6% in November and on a monthly basis prices declined for the first time since April 2020. The "core" index excluding food and energy prices also declined to 3.2%, the lowest that key gauge of trend inflation has been since April 2021. Fed officials at their final meeting of the year forecast continued improvement in both measures in 2024.” https://www.reuters.com/markets/us/charting-feds-economic-data-flow-2023-12-29/
  3. If you were a Capitol Police Officer getting bear sprayed and smacked on the head with a fire extinguisher, you’d have felt pretty attacked, wouldn’t you?
  4. Twit? Yes Dunce? Yes Libbie? Nope Hey, we 2/3 agree on something, so let’s take the win!
  5. You can read the states’ articles of secession for yourself. Slavery was their reason. They said so.
  6. The reason for the Civil War was slavery.
  7. The US has never recovered from the Civil War, which is what started this “Government is too big” mentality. But once the Civil War ended, the South was solid Democrat for one reason only: Abraham Lincoln was a Republican. The Democrats, even under Roosevelt, had a very conservative wing. This situation flipped with the passage of the Civil Rights and Voting Rights Acts, along with federally-mandated desegregation and even busing. So there is definitely an element of “blow the whole thing up” that a lot of people subscribe to, and its core is racism. Anybody who says it’s not: Trump wanted to keep monuments of Southern Generals intact, Nikki Haley refuses to admit that slavery was even a cause of the Civil War, and DeSantis is fighting tooth and nail to stop any factual discussion of slavery in his state’s classrooms. Racism is the beating heart of MAGA.
  8. Or… practically all of Wall-Mart, Target, Amazon and Best Buy.
  9. It’s nice to agree with you. I wish only peace and happiness for the Palestinian people, but they’re being lead by Islamic Jihad (that’s the group’s name) and Hamas, who have decided to be at war with Israel and much of the rest of the Arab world.
  10. Utterly false. The reason this happened is China’s ridiculously cheap labor. THINK. Instead of listening to talking heads, just think for yourself. It happened because US manufacturers and retailers outsourced all of their manufacturing to China. Free market. Not war. Not even “war.” Our companies raced to outsource, and now Haley wants to pretend it’s a some kind of war? Everybody agrees that trade policies must be mutually fair, but I doubt that will lead to a trade balance, only equity.
  11. I don’t have that source at my fingertips, but Trump recently posted “If you come after me, I’ll one after you,” and right after that, all of the judges, prosecutors and several witnesses in the cases involving him received death threats. These judges and prosecutors now need to have armed escorts protecting them 24/7. That is not normal, and it is because of Trump’s violent rhetoric. It’s remarkable that he hasn’t been thrown in prison for doing this. Jail is where this lunatic belongs. Donald Trump is an unhinged lunatic. The day after he was found guilty of rape and defamation in the E Jean Carroll case, with another case still pending… he defamed her on national television. That takes either next-level stupidity, or serious mental decay. And after getting hit for $148 million, Trump pal Giuliani defamed the plaintiffs in his defamation case. These are not rational people.
  12. I saw a Nikki Haley ad on TV today. In big letters, it said: DEFEAT CHINA Great! Nikki Haley wants to wage war with China. Fair trade? Sure. Free trade? Sure. Equitable trade? You bet. Fight a Cold War? No. Fight a Hot War? No. Fight a Trade War? No thank you. Tough talk might make you feel good, but destroying our relationship with our largest trading partner, the world’s largest nation, second largest economy and Asia’s largest military power is utterly foolish and incredibly dangerous.
  13. Should the courts disregard the Electoral College? It’s ok with you when the Constitution prevents a person you don’t like from being President. So it must go both ways. The Fourteenth Amendment is absolute. It’s not an option. It must be obeyed.
  14. His legal claim in court is not, “I am absolutely immune to all criminal prosecution.” His claim is that he is immune to prosecution for the things he is accused of doing, because those things were official acts of office. So either he did them, or he did not. If he says he is immune from prosecution for the act, he is therefore admitting to committing the act.
  15. As you can see, it is Hamas who is refusing a ceasefire in Gaza. TLDR: Hamas leaders turned down offer of lifetime sanction and safety by Qatar. They refuse to permit free elections in Palestine. “CAIRO, Dec 25 (Reuters) - Hamas and the allied Islamic Jihad have rejected an Egyptian proposal that they relinquish power in the Gaza Strip in return for a permanent ceasefire, two Egyptian security sources told Reuters on Monday. Two officials from Hamas and the Islamic Jihad groups later separately denied what the sources said about the talks. The Egyptian sources said that both Hamas and Islamic Jihad, which have been holding separate talks with Egyptian mediators in Cairo, had rejected offering any concessions beyond the possible release of more hostages seized on Oct. 7 when militants broke into southern Israel, killing 1,200 people. Egypt proposed a "vision" rather than a concrete plan, also backed by Qatari mediators, that would involve a ceasefire in exchange for the release of more hostages, and lead to a broader agreement involving a permanent ceasefire along with an overhaul of leadership in Gaza, which is currently led by Hamas. Egypt proposed elections while offering assurances to Hamas that its members would not be chased or prosecuted, but the Islamist group rejected any concessions other than hostage releases, the sources said. More than 100 hostages are still believed to be held in Gaza. Islamic Jihad insists, the official said, that any prisoner swap must be based on the principle of "all for all", meaning the release of all hostages held in Gaza by Hamas and Islamic Jihad in return for freeing all Palestinians jailed in Israel. [Note: This means releasing convicted terrorists for innocent kidnapped children.] https://www.reuters.com/world/middle-east/hamas-islamic-jihad-reject-giving-up-power-return-permanent-ceasefire-egyptian-2023-12-25/
  16. You are essentially agreeing that he is guilty of the charges brought. The criminal charges are not “insurrection,” probably because prosecutors avoid charging under that statute because it was poorly written. At least, you have strong belief that he will be convicted if he’s tried. I don’t think that being the nominee will get him out of a trial. Because the judge would say, “Look, you ran one delay after another after another and that was your choice.” There is certainly no legal reason why being the nominee absolves him of the responsibility of going to trial.
  17. Napolitano is absolutely incorrect. Let’s first understand Trump’s claim: ”Trump was indicted on Aug. 1. He sought to have the charges against him dismissed on two different grounds. First, he contended, he cannot be prosecuted for acts that were part of his responsibilities as president. Second, he argued, and in any event, he cannot be prosecuted in this case because he had already been impeached, but not convicted, in 2021 on charges arising from the same conduct. ” What Trump is charged with clearly was not part of his official duty. Now, the jury may rule that he’s innocent, but if he is guilty of Conspiracy to Defraud, Obstruction of an Official Proceeding and/or Conspiracy to Violate Civil Rights, none of those things are the duty of a President to perform. President Obama ordered soldiers to invade Pakistan and illegally capture bin Laden, which resulted in bin Laden’s death. Obama was NOT criminally charged, because capturing bin Laden was one of his official duties as President. But if Trump is guilty of the crimes he is accused of, then no, those acts are not the official acts of a President. On the second point, Presidential Impeachment is not a criminal trial, and the punishment of impeachment is limited to removal from office and disqualification. Therefore, double jeopardy does not apply. That’s more than obvious, as the Constitution clearly states: ”Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States; but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law.”
  18. Those were Trump’s exact words to the Proud Boys, dum-dum.
  19. The three in dissent didn’t disagree that Trump engaged in insurrection. Jefferson Davis and Robert E Lee were not convicted of insurrection. You don’t have to be “convicted” of being under the age of 35. And it was Jackass Trump himself who sought to deprive Barack Obama of the Presidency by falsely claiming that Obama was not born in the U.S. So Jackass Trump believes someone should be deprived of the right to the Presidency without a conviction.
  20. We do not have the evidence. If there is evidence that the election was stolen, why hasn’t the lying sack of $hit insurrectionist rapist traitor Trump brought the “evidence” before a judge, if he’s got it? Doesn’t it ever dawn on you that you’re believing liars? “I have evidence, but I won’t show it to you and I won’t present it to a judge in court” is what a liar says. You are being conned.
  21. What metric or measurement are you using to claim that the economy was growing under Trump and is now a “shithole”? Jobs? GNP? DJIA? Please show us.
  22. Trump to Proud Boys: “Stand Back, and Stand By”.
  23. Stay on topic. The topic is whether or not Trump participated in an insurrection. All 7 justices of the Colorado Supreme Court agreed with the judge of the lower court that, yes, he engaged in an insurrection. That much is settled legal fact and it is doubtful that the U.S. Supreme Court will dispute that adjudicated finding of fact.
  24. Wrong, there was a judicial finding of fact that Trump participated in an insurrection. Not one judge has disputed that.
