  1. No, but it was fun to see Russians blowing up other Russian planes and helicopters, no? https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-66031403
  2. The same reason all the regions of Norway use the same currency; they’re all in the same country. This is grade 2 level stuff here…
  3. Prigozhin should probably stay on the ground floor of any building he enters from now on.
  4. What year did it stop being “all white”? Why is that a good thing? Did you not learn about indigenous people who were here first? Which Hastings are you referring to? Capt. Vancouver wasn’t a “founder of Canada”. Seymour was governor of the colony before there was a Canada. You’re not a victim. No matter how hard you try to spin it that way, you’re just not.
  5. The ideology of “woke” is defined by its opposition in such vague terms, like you just did, that it is entirely vapid and impossible for me to come down for or against. I can see being for and against all of the things you mentioned. It’s much better to take specific examples of actions and argue the merits for or against. But when that happens, you often lose the bogeyman that is “woke ideology”. And those with power need their bogeymen.
  6. What are people fed up with? What is “woke”?
  7. To people like this, just saying that it is ok to be gay is promoting sexual activity. They mangle the phrase beyond all recognition. They also think that schools saying that it is ok to be gay is the school waging a culture war. It is conspiracy theory thinking.
  8. Not sure how he “intimidated” him…. They’re politicians running against each other to govern the country. Of course they’re going to use what they can to influence the electorate, in this case Italian-Canadians. What’s the issue with pointing out what the member was supporting when he was clapping in the House?
  9. I predict a coalition government next election. The Conservatives will win the most seats, but the Libs/NDP will join forces to form government.
  10. “I’m not Trudeau” is a sure-fire way to lose. I kind of hope PP listens to advisors like yourself just to see all the exploded heads on this forum the day after the next election.
  11. Sounds like the Conservative MP was mistaken. He was only threatening his reputation among Italian-Canadians. But, even if he was talking about the legal community, what is wrong with pointing out that the MP’s actions in The House to all their lawyer acquaintances? In a media statement, Lametti said he was talking about the the Italian-Canadian community in the email, not the legal community.
  12. Granted, I don’t follow Trump/American politics all that closely…. But from what I’ve read, he has admitted in public to having the documents that he shouldn’t have had. I think his defence strategy is “I hope the next president is a Republican who will pardon me”. Political opponents should be allowed to commit crimes? Makes no sense.
  13. That’s a pretend solution that ignores Canadian law. It’s a conservative fantasy land that offers nothing.
  14. No one can force anyone to quit, as you said. So, they’re going to steal your purse to get money to buy drugs. Solution? Make it so they can get their drugs without stealing your purse.
  15. Free drugs = less property crimes and more police and emergency resources that can go elsewhere. Why does a crackhead need to steal your purse if they get the drugs for free?
  16. We will make them not illicit, then the passage doesn’t apply.
  17. Read it. Seems reasonable. Judge’s analysis, that you seemed to ignore: VI. ANALYSIS A. Is the MMP Grossly Disproportionate in this Case? [22] A 90 day jail sentence is not grossly disproportionate in SS’s case. [23] To reiterate, in the early morning hours, an intoxicated 27 year old male entered a bedroom in a home where he had been welcomed to socialize in, and asked a 13 and 14 year old girl to have sex with him. The girls refused, but he persisted, offering them money to take off their pants, and cigarettes and alcohol, to persuade them to have sex with him. [24] This is serious criminal conduct.
  18. But it does…. We need treatment, not jail for drug users. We know treatment reduces crime and we know that a stint in jail for an addict won’t cure them, overloads police and the justice system trying to deal with them repeatedly. We also know that prohibition has failed. We have a constitution that won’t allow it. And, if Canada was a single city that could control every entry point, you might have a chance that repressive, barbaric laws might actually work. But we live above the biggest drug dealer in the world, and they have access to us over a very long and undefended border.
  19. I wish we were softer. If handing out some free drugs prevents property crime and frees up police and emergency services resources, then I am all for it.
  20. Good. We should spend the money helping our citizens here at home. What do you think Jesus would rather spend on…. military? Or helping children in poverty?
  21. Or you attract gold-digging whores and nice ladies still think you’re not much of a catch?
  22. But they will scream and shout while wearing the flag as a costume, which is against the same code. It’s the hypocrisy that is worth pointing out.
