The Truth On Residential Schools Is Suppressed
herbie replied to Zeitgeist's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
As "nationalpost opinion" and "truth" don't belong in the same sentence, only a disgusting person would agree with such hateful assumptions that as they didn't find evidence in one single place it couldn't have ever happened anywhere. Go post something from Conrad Black next.- 106 replies

When you have millions of followers so bone stupid they'll buy it, you'd be a mor0n not to sell it to them. A carny once explained to me : It is immoral to leave money in the hands of a fool.

And you're telling someone who's run for office, been on and chaired PACs and delegate to many conventions that I'm the one that knows nothing abut politics? You've had you hands over your eyes and ears for over a decade. Are you Tommy the deaf, dumb blind boy? Stick to pinball then. Drinker of American style KoolAid too? "Opposition" is strictly obstructionism, foolish to actually propose an alternative. Why that would be just too hard for today's Party.

And the author's specious opinion piece deserves as much respect as a post by reason10. Few accuse the CPC of being far right, but they rightfully object to it's pandering to the far right for support instead of the center. Since the Unite the right and the death of the PC party, too much of their time is spent on anti-immigrant, spread the fear of crime and attacking the opposition rather than opposing it with solutions. Now their insistence in opposing all social change as a mainstay of their platform ensures many people who would support the old PCs won't do so again.

Just look at the death toll in Maui and hear the complaints they weren't given enough warning....

Support for Meta, Google etc on news charges dispute
herbie replied to myata's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
For years Google has paid me a penny a click for links on my site that lead to theirs. Yet you seem to begrudge Meta and Google for a penny contribution to Cdn media. F*ck them and your anti-Canadian attitudes. Lapdogs of American corporate interests. -

So let's have a couple billionaires tell the whole country what to do and when to do it. I was on the fence until the scumbag blocked wildfire information sourced by anything other than gossip. It would've blocked legitimate Covid information too if tis appened 3 years ago. F*ck them. If the CRTC saya support Canadian content on radio and TV we can do so on the Net too. -
You remind me of my dog. He always looks at you as if there's an ulterior motive behind handing him a treat. A conspiracy behind everything,

FFS what next complain about your Freedumb to remain and get cooked? Never seen a major forest fire? You get the f*ck away if they say so, the 2018 one in the Cariboo came within 150m of our cabin. hey booted my sister out the day before. The same year they stopped it less than 1km from the edge of a subdivision here. We left because of the smoke, no shit you couldn't see two doors down.

Ontario needs to invest in EVs as a realistic Option.
herbie replied to Boges's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
I'm looking... not buying. Heard the Hornet drives like an Alfa Romeo and power like a Dodge. THe Rav4 for dependable. Drove my niece's 2012 it was great, but gutless compared to my 2005 Vue or the Jeep. And wanted to laugh at Dealer greed that's gonna put them under in the end. A little annoyed with $100 fillups even on the cars I have. Specially the Wrandler, tiny tank w about the range of a modern BEV. Saw the new Wrangler's gas mileage has improved by 0.2L/100km in 9 years and that's it. Disgusted at that... and using pisspot 3 cyl turbos like the Maverick you'd be lucky to get 100K out of one. Just like British cars and VWs back in high school days, rebuild engine after 5 or 6 years. -

Went to look at cars Saturday. Dodge dealer had ONE Hornet, Toyota dealer had maybe 6 cars on the lot in total. So much for seeing a RAV4 Prime. Notice how dealers no longer display the price in the windows either, Don't want you to see how much over MSRP they're marking it up. Whatever you heard "starting at" on TV, double it on anything actually on the lot. Wanted to see the Hornet, a hybrid that's actually an AlfaRomeo ToeNail. Wasn't impressed by the one black one with black interior, all locked up with no price listed. The Ford dealer had A Maverick and A Bronco on the lot. Not that either interest me. -
I guess one good thing was it was a couple week emergency, people were great. It didn't drag on for years like Covid and turn everyone into miserable arseholes

We had to evacuate a couple years back/ The Province paid all kinds of assistance, found us pet friendly motels, local volunteers told us best places to eat, arranged things to see & do for evacuees. the wife's dog biter employer made her use vacation days so afterone weekend we said thanks, we're forced onto vacation so we;ll treat it as one and didn't take any more handouts. We evacuated to the North coast where the ocean wind kept smoke away as the suggested site was even smokier than it was at home. Never did claim gas expenses. Memorable as we spent a few days in soggy rundown Prince Rupert. Boy has that place become a shit hole since the last visit 30 years ago.

The cost of land in the places people want housing built is too f***ing high. The cost of just the permits to build a house in those same areas is more than the price of a new house 35 years ago. You can't build a brand new home without installing underground hookups on a new lot, add another tens of thousands, Look a the price of lumber these days, you can't buy 2x4 studs for 85 cents like a few years ago. Toss in the price of cement. backfill. $30/hr for labourers let alone carpenters.... I think if the govt can shell out tens of billions in corporate welfare like for VW, Chrysler, TMX etc. they could at least drop the GST on building materials and new home sales, the Title and transfer fees for first time buyers and mandate a permit cap of a few hundred bucks to municipalities. Even better nationalize all mortgage lending for principal residences into the CMHC.

Of course not! Why Justin Trudeau decides if your fingers are gonna break through your toilet paper FFS. He singlehandedly caused inflation, house prices to jump, unemployment, your pop to go flat and everything else because.... because... because he's a dictator that just sits on a throne and dictates things that benefit no one including himself and that's what they do.

You're gonna pay way more for power regardless. You must've been squeezing your eyes shut not to see them stuffing their pockets and rewarding shareholders. Like paying a dollar mote for gas when prices even got close to what they were and paying a whole dime in tax. Who shall pay? Who shall pay? Reminds me of that TV commercial. Well you shall pay. Isn't that a fundamental principle of conservatives? User pay? So if you don't want to pay, you don't have to buy it.

What is funny about his whole thread is the headline. They're out to 'destroy capitalism' by opening huge new opportunities that weren't there before. Reminds me oF how in these parts when all the mills closed, the people who got rich off them had lost all their "power" and about all they could do was f*** people over to prevent them from ever making significant money. And they all did just that, to the best of their ability and influence. Same thing happening on climate issues, too stupid or lazy to invest in new ideas, so they promote and agitate trying to prevent anyone new from joining their circle. Let's use some of the millions the family made selling cast iron stoves to convince people microwave ovens and heat exchangers are stoopid. We can write it off!

Shoplife in NYC. Why not? Nobody will stop you
herbie replied to reason10's topic in State Politics in the United States
I've seen a few of the items they carry on that Liquidator show. THe point I was trying to make is that shoplifting haa gone up everywhere, no matter who's "in charge". Money's tight, homeless are all over, wages are low, lawyers are rampant A Perfect Shitstorm.
