  1. You cut your hydro bill to $60 a month? Shopping for a hybrid CUV? Driving less overall? Turned your furnace down to 20C? Buy local fruits & veggies, get meat from a local shop that doesn't ship animals to Alberta for slaughter and all the way back in plastic wrap? Surfing this forum on a laptop or Raspberry Pi instead of a 1200W "gaming" PC? Bring your beer cans back for the deposit? Then you already are.
  2. What's the dictionary definition of conservative thinkers who glorify the past blame their economic situation on 'the left' and scapegoat a particular group? Ain't "conservatives".
  3. That you believe Trudeau actually can do either sure shows....
  4. Ramming it down anyone's throat would be called rape. Then you really can complain. Actually having sex on your lawn or in a parking lot is public indecency. Parading down the street in drag or teaching kids that the attitude you demonstrate is vile and antisocial is not ramming anything down your throat. If you don't want to ever see LBGTQ people turn off your TV, unhook your Internet and don't go outside in the real world.
  5. I'm only pointing out the various ways beancounters can use distraction. Or you truly believe tha cost to deliver butter to the supermarket has doubled in the last 2 1l2 years? Even if it had, instead of making $2 a lb., they're making $4 a lb. now.
  6. The Blockheads sing their same song agina But China, China, China... while we're talking about CANADA. Did you know China produce twice the greenhouse gas as the USA? And has almost 3 1/2 times the population. Making the USA the worst. That China is implementing alternatives at a much faster rate than anyone else? Or that the exported BC & AB coal is mainly burned for steel making, not for coal fired electrical plants? No, of course not, all the MSM sources are lies.
  7. You think the province will lower it's tax because maybe the feds will? Hah... Not everyone thinks the govt can get along with less money, but they can't themselves. Even as they psychotically swear they can do a better job than govt can at everything. No, it was the provinces that stubbornly resisted implementing their own carbon tax that already slit their own throats. Grovelling hand in hand for handouts on every damn thing else. Perpetuating the money in your left pocket is different from the money in your right pocket myth.
  8. In your homophobic dreams. Kinsey reported around 10% homosexuals in the 1950s, when how many would even admit it under such persecuting times? And that's just gays... way more bis than gays... It's just sex. Something people do like poop or pee. And certainly nothing of your concern.
  9. It's such a fashion faux pas to wear with the fluorescent orange hunting vest...
  10. Geez, Beav! Only need to look across the street at the mill and can see that. Almost 40 years of Software duties because the "fair trade" USA decides how everyone else markets things. You can't sell just the rights to cut trees, you must sell the land too. You can't have a govt set the rate.... no no making them bid is still not good enough. Wahh requiring that the trees you cut must be milled nearby so the people that live there benefit is communist! Hell, there's a pickup next door that still has a 1963 25% Chicken Tax so you'd Buy American made in Mexico instead...
  11. Or as I've explained to the mathematically challenged, if your markup stays the same and your costs go up 10% so do your earnings, But then you can explain to dimwits that you didn't make $100 million more dollars, your "profit" didn't increase at all. Just like if the maker sells 100 million 400g boxes of corn flakes @5.99 and next year sells 100 million 300g boxes @$5.99, it's "sales" didn't increase at all. Same amount of money same number of boxes. People will assume your costs went up 33% in one year. I mean, they expect us to believe inflation is around 6% means butter, milk & rents double in 3 years...
  12. I assume you guys can't even use Google to look things up as it's all fake news and MSM lies. And believe "uniting all Russian speaking areas" is entirely different than "uniting all Germanic speakers" was.
  13. In BC we have. It was brought in in 2008. As for the federal one, it was introduced only a few years ago for the Provinces that were too stubborn and stupid and passed up on their own new revenue stream. Therefore, it is entirely useless for anyone living where there's an equivalent Provincial Tax to tout PP and the Tories, You won't gain one red cent as it's not the Feds jurisdiction. Maybe if they offer a matching reduction in the Federal Excise Tax on fuels, but you know damn well they won't. But don't worry, the voters in a lot of BC are too stupid to realize they'll gain nothing. They're used to gaining nothing from always voting Tory.
  14. We've been taxed for two whole years and it hasn't changed the climate back. That proves it's ineffective! [/sarcasm]
  15. No. I will eat less as they're too f*cking expensive. Butter was $12.99 lb. in ths store yesterday and as I joke to other seniors, 'ten cent chocolate bars' are on sale for $1.89....
  16. Oooh, just had a real 'fear mongered' worrier here. She and her hubby were invited to stay here in the spring, took til the end of Aug. to show p and hung about for 15 days. She spent half her time checking the phone for fire reports and fretting... there WAS one 30km away that might spring up again... oh my! new fire on a rez only 90km away... oh oh! Another 100 km south.. what to do what to do? We also hve a sever bear problem, the fires have driven them closer and the drought means no berries so the damn thing have been raiding garbage cans in town all summer, My chichuahua was chasing them away several times a day. Bear bangers were going off nightly. I make them go outside to smoke, there's a table in the carport I sit at when it's nice. She wouldn't go out without bringing the dog. He'd patrol the edges of the property, look up and down the street and go back inside thru the doggie door, you could almost see im shaking his head at her. The mutt goes ballistic if he hears a noise or smells one, sharp barks, rushes out to confront it... BUT she heard, saw, smelled the bear and heard bear bangers no one else did and the dog didn't even raise it's head. Paced endlessly and barely slept So glad when they left. She reminded me of my bipolar ex, but the ex didn't have episodes that lasted fifteen bloody days. Ohh! Ooh! There's a new fire 200km north... gotta go it could be here any second... auugggh!!! EEEE!!! gaakk!
  17. It is kind of. But knowing people who worked driving and dispatching taxis in the 1980s do you know how many people requested "Caucasian driver only"? A few drivers I knew were making tons of money because they were white. Gotta admit, the money they mentioned was enough to get me to go apply... never followed up on it as I got a job on a union assembly line that paid even more. But judging by the number of women (let alone trannies) that would do such a job, some people are gonna be waiting a very long time for a ride.
  18. My apologies for blowing off like that, especially to blackbird. Premier Eby did express his anger at the system that failed in this instance and is rightfully investigating how this guy got let out. The point I was trying to make was only that it was a screw up by the doctors and social workers involved, not by the "justice system" of Judges, lawyers and prosecutors. Two different entities. The guy was out before in 2009 and stabbed someone then.... I'm sure no one imagined he's do it again after being locked up for another 14 years, but that's their job not ours. They failed completely. The BC Govt also directed prosecutors months ago to crack down on bail for repeat offenders, but I've yet to see or hear anything further as to the results of that.
  19. FYI Eby condemned the act, not the process. So don't even attempt to use it as supporting your ignorance between your vision of justice and the law. We all know you just don't like the concept of NCR, it's just too confusing for your concept of Old Testament justice. Repeat: it had nothing to do with law or justice, It was a medical judgenent failure.
  20. Who cares? One minor celebrity will not run WestJet into bankruptcy. I'll bet the people ranting loudest had never even heard of her before. Hell, let's not even mention her, let's turn this thread into yet another frothing orgy of antivax bullshit. I saw her with short hair once... she might be a tranny! Look out, they're coming to get you!
  21. Hate to spoil your rant with facts, but it was not a failure of our Justice system, it was a failure by mental health professionals to let him out unescorted. If the guy's found not criminally responsible - he's not a criminal. he's a mental case. And for all your anti-woke rhetoric what is this about the 'rights' of dead people and parents? Promoting the recognition of things that are not currently recognized is wokeness....
  22. And you're making the dumb argument we don't need our own local food supply. The protected areas in BC are precisely that. They had the foresight to understand that in 1972 when they made the ALR. It was market condition not govt that made all the vinyards out of many farms & orchards but we sure as hell don't wan to encourage more loss for condos and highrises. Like FFS, who cares if people don't want to live outside the big cities, $2 million homes mean you already can't. And anyone thinking wages should increase to afford $2 million homes is off their effing rocker. Burns Lake,,, fekk I wouldn't want to live there either. But 4 lane the hwy, double track the rail line and upgrade the fibre lines and you'd be nuts not to like Smithers or Terrace. Other than normal Canadian winters, Prince George has all the room for a million homes, but Lower Mainland pansies like my relatives and high school buddies are all "Wahhh! It's too cold..."
  23. But this one was the PM's plane, an RCAF jet. Might realize it's time to invest a few cents for the Forces equipment.
  24. Look who's talking. You're claiming that as they haven't or won't defile what to them is sacred grounds, only stories, there can't be any burials. Like I said, by your own rules, there are no bodies in the USS Arizona as the only 'proof' is other people's stories.
