Short of dropping the GST on new homes, regulating permit and provincial fees, speeding up issuing them and maybe re-introducing the Homesteaders Act, there ain't much Ottawa can do. Tack on that nobody wants to drop greenbelts and agricultural reserves, where is land in already developed area going to come from?
