  1. Thank you for a post I will agree with almost 100% I wouldn't worry too much over Thanksgiving gatherings, but yes if you're older or compromised in any way you should begin to take precautions. As my doctor said, when they talk about those 'over 50, theyre talking about YOU a long time ago! The latest multivax will be here in a week or so and I gotta go to the clinic anyways for routine blood tests...
  2. You mean defending all the 'conervatives' who insist the govt should do something about the cost of housing? IOW interfere with the Free Market? Like the local dotards who always vote Tory because 'they'll give us more grant money'? The entiore problem boils down to some people have access to and will pay you $1 million for your home, and you'd be a fool to turn it down. Your great grandparents would've refused to pay absurd mortgages and rents, taken their whole families and camped out in Hoovervilles in front of govt offices all over the country, not giving a shit if that was 'leftist' or 'rightwing', but because it would get action.
  3. About the worst we could do is make them pay a little more... But thei anti-Ukraine outlook of a lot of GOP is very worrying. A return to the America Firster ideology is as well. Sit back and watch the world go to hell after 2 generations of leadership. Worried to death over leftists and commies when the real threat is Putin who is neither.
  4. Why would the USA even want to "take Ottawa"? They'd have to rebuild us and leave like Japan & Germany or incorporate 30 million more of what they consider 'extreme leftists' into the USA.
  5. Any my chihuahua cross chases huge bears out of our yard almost nightly since May. Are you suggesting abandoning Ukraine or cutting aid now? We're arguing about objectives of war vs peacekeeping rather than the subject. If we don't bark and try to chase the Russians out Putin will be after the Baltic states next and NATOs hand will be forced. Russia can get tired of war too when they're paying in blood.
  6. Wow. You sure screamed over 2c a litre on gas. That was a typo on my part. New keyboard and I end up correcting every 3rd word I type. Only cost 1 % on my last 2 properties
  7. Do any of you know how much it costs to build a house these days? Sure as hell ain't $50 sq. ft. anymore. Permit costs are pushing $40K in large cities, there's a 5% GST on new homes and more Provincial sales and registration fees, BC has a 3% property transfer tax and even higher on the current values. Short of dropping the GST on new homes, regulating permit and provincial fees, speeding up issuing them and maybe re-introducing the Homesteaders Act, there ain't much Ottawa can do. Tack on that nobody wants to drop greenbelts and agricultural reserves, where is land in already developed area going to come from? There are solutions and like it or not the needed immigration will pressure us to see them and get the political will to DO them.
  8. Was at the local lot 2 weeks ago and they had one Dodge Hornet PHEV. With the window sticker removed, so as not to scare off everyone and no Jeep hybrids. The new 2dr Wrangler's gas mileage has improved 0.1 L/100km in the 9 years since I bought mine. Progress, eh? The local GM never had a Chevy Volt hybrid on the lot since they first came out, and a friend went to Vancouver to buy his Chevy Bolt BEV. As usual, we have a hater response that someone stupid enough to not read a gas gauge would have to call a tow truck. And defending the worst excuses for cars the Big 3 ever built. Typical 'modern conservative' attitude that everything used to be better....
  9. WTF has you racist attitude got to do with aid to Ukraine? Or are you simply showing off how abhorrent you can be?
  10. I do, and so should you. None of those were wars, they were missions. A mission involves an eventual end. Only Afghanistan involved going in to fight. Ukraine is clear Russian aggression and expansionism, we can't just sit back and watch. Nor should we kowtow with Munich like appeasement just because lots of Russian speakers live in areas that are not part of Russia - we've watched that happen too much already.
  11. Too stupid to understand sarcasm yet think you're opinions are worth shit? Duh!
  12. Mad about the absurd prices of cars these daya? Remember the times of cheap and affordable? I'm sure some TV car hero with a beard so long Worker's Comp wouldn't let him within a block of a working shop would shell out $25,000 for one of these p.o.s. up on blocks on some rez and dump $100K restoring it to ir's former shittiness. On another note the local Dodge/Jeep/RAM scammer dealer is offering a FREE CHARGER if you buy an EV. Why that could even be a free Dodge Charger not just a plug.... Stellantis doesn't even MAKE a BEV let alone those oafs have one on the lot.
  13. Bu but rural Canadians can get their Canadian news free streaming Tucker Carlson on their dialup internet! Why should "I" have to pay?
  14. Can't wait until he takes the stand. Your Honor I wish to plead the Fifth because I did it. Did you catch his bullshit about a disclaimer on his Financial Reports warning people not to believe anything on it? If true, they knowingly printed lies which would be the bloody definition of fraud. Talk about a mouth bigger than his brain!
  15. The GOP is only there to obstruct, obstruct, obstruct. No interest whatsoever in what's good for the USA, just tear down whatever they can and block anything that is constructive. As you said CHAOS Party, modern day anarchists,
  16. l Actually I don't. Cypres, Bosnia, Somalia were peacekeeping short term actions, Afghanistan we had the brains to walk away from and we were in Korea and Germany from beginning to end. Cyprus was a peacekeeping stint most of us think we overstayed. Afghanistan's the only recent one we got involved in the actual war. Our "involvement" in Ukraine is only training and supply, and getting tired of that is pretty exclusive to surrender monkeys and Russian trolls.
  17. Oh FFS the clinic receptionist is wearing one again and has done so for 3 years. Change your username to UsuallyWrong
  18. Obviously no one from Calgary or Vancouver got to vote. Toronto is okay but no mountains, no ocean, no chinooks in winter, no wildlife wandering downtown, no destination places an hour or two away. Also obvious cost of housing wasn't significant in their list. You need to win the lottery to live in most of those places.
  19. Yes they changed their name as conservatives just like them have turned liberal into a dirty word. And those who have abhorrent social views have claimed Conservative as their title. You must be one of the few people Campbell fooled into thinking he was a 'liberal' in any way, shape or form. Christie Clark was the only liberal leaning premier during their reign of terror. Rustad, though I admit he was very good on forestry issues has totally failed on economic development in his own riding and relies on the support from his huge bible thumping, anti-vax Grade 12 equivalency base of support. In a riding where every member ever elected was not NDP, yet managed to get booted from their own party.
  20. Let's use ALL the buzzwords we can, shall we? To act like the fool that stupidly calls down the Judge about to sentence him is some king of hero of the 'right'? My Gawd the right you promote is the wrong of the right.
  21. From other total m0rons. That's why surgeons stopped wearing them, right?
  22. from where do you draw that idea? I thought he was a Communist dictator. Maybe Putin will send you a tent to pitch on the sidewalk. With all the other mentally challenged.
  23. The 'leftist' term is utterly meaningless spoken byt an American when you consider that the American political outlook is skewed so far to the right that Bernie Sanders would be considered a somewhat right of center candidate anywhere else in the world.
  24. It's the word "person". That means a person -them not your Boss or your parental rights over them. But you're correct, no 'parental rights' in the Constitution, just hundreds of years of 'parental responsibilities' in Common Law. And the Notwithstanding Clause was never intended to be used for petty bullshit - it clearly points out that it is a temporary violation of the actual Constitution that must be periodically reviewed. Not just for the use of pompous Premiers seeking to promote their personal agendas as it has been so far.
