School Boards Promoting Homosexuality?
herbie replied to Zeitgeist's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
For or against what? Teaching kids not to bully others is NOT promoting homosexuality. That's what the fact IS, there's no argument or 'sides'- 479 replies

Nobody should need to tell you why FFS. I'm sure someone will eventually tell you how hospitals and buildings and staffing works.

Oh Jeez, same old same old. While turning your backs on the limitation of fossil fuel. No worry, now it's no longer necessary to stop peeing in the pool because Uncle Sam can legally start peeing in the pool again.- 386 replies

Too bad! But at 63 after 2 bouts with cancer he doesn't want to commit to what would amount to another 6 years of politics. He will be hard to replace.

After being legal all this time, almost every member of a seniors society board approached me one at a time whispering not to tell anyone but there was this THC/CBD rub that could really help with the arthritis in my back. Must be forve of habit! ( I had some of it in my back pocket. after about 5 days, i put the cane away and haven't touched it in over a year now ). My Doctor also said to me I'd grown up in the 1960s so I should bloody well know what to use for pain. Oh right, I do remember playing a whole football quarter at 21 with a broken foot...

I just proved my weakness, eh? I base argument on FACT not on shallow ill informed opinions and only insult those who can't or won't. Sad thing is so many of them think that that is what constitutes argument these days.- 479 replies

Canada Banning Certain Plastic Products by the End of the Year
herbie replied to Boges's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Cutting down trees is an issue? You replant and they grow back. They're in mile long piles unsold at the mill cuz people aren't building many $3 million homes. I mean Jeez, do you wipe your ass with your left hand to save the trees? And everyone's mentioned aluminum is good for recycling. Get rid of those plastic pop bottles and make aluminum ones with resealable tops. They're already out there for some things. And make them effing METRIC no more of this 593.27 ml crap! -

Oh come on! He convinced Americans that we stole their jobs under NAFTA. When I got married I was building Kenworths, my wife was keeping records for Freightliner. When I moved here, there were 4 mills all owned locally or by Canadian companies. Now there's foreign owned mills they ship the logs to hundreds of miles away. And don't get me started on how we cowed to their laws that say 'appurtenance' is illegal and refuse to follow a single ruling on softwood. All Trump did was prove America was full of untrustworthy bastards, and he is King. -

See the dictionary or my previous post as to what babies are. Or a law book. Or just keep repeating yourself and it will become true. You know, as the Soviets used to say "if most people believe it, it's obviously the truth". -
This happens around the table every time there's a discussion on the subject of natives in this neck of the woods. They want a part of decision making on their traditional lands and that's translated as "they're going to kick you out of your house". You get asked by drunk panhandlers at the Post Office and you complain about 'those Indians' while the white guy next door stumbles about pissed in his apartment collecting a pension and you never see. Obviously we can't keep clear cutting right to the edge of the marked reserves because "Canfor wants to make money". You'll need to get used to "them" hiring you to log sustainably. And 'them' being the shareholders, not some unknown old white farts from far away that people seem to defend as demi-Gods. And where I live they're trucking in salmon because the traditional food source has been destroyed by "our" policies, and "they" rebuilt and re-opened the hatchery because the gov't of Canada won't. Think about how here the forced the gov't under those obligations to clean up the old mercury mine, you know damn well all that land and the lake would still be poison if they didn't. Wouldn't have happened, you know it! WTF are you afraid of, honestly, without making up doomsday scenarios?

If you don't like being insulted, don't set yourself up for one. This is not exactly the place known for logical debate.- 479 replies

US Supreme Court strikes down Roe V. Wade
herbie replied to West's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Duh, are you comparing civil rights to zoning bylaws? Or endorsing the majority decisions of the smallest, most exclusive demographic that affects a larger one as 'democracy'? Or just knee-jerk replying to the fist thing that pops into your mouth before what you read sinks thru the layer of diarrhea before it hits the brain? -

Geez if you could ever stop your mindless raving and let what you read sink through your dim, milk like perception, it would be perfectly obvious I'm NOT and American and would never want to be. -

FFS God didn't give you shit. Humans took those rights. often by force. And I've got a great idea. Why stop at states rights? Why not city rights? Why stop there neighbourhood, even block rights. Cut things down to a small a group as possible so you can get the 50% +1 that support your vision. The Church Lady and the Angry Old Man next door can decide what rights you have. You can call it 'real democracy' like Americans do. If you don't like it, you're free to move. -

Canada Banning Certain Plastic Products by the End of the Year
herbie replied to Boges's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Recycling methods need a rethink. Those plastic bags and other plastic can be recycled with a little cleaning & solvent. But not if there's only ONE such plant in the whole country and they all need to be trucked to Toronto. All those plastic pop bottles and cans - not even cleaned crushed or shredded and trucked across the country in semis! Have you seen the clear bags they're sent in, the size of a small cabin and only five pounds of stuff in them? 30 years ago I saw a machine in Oregon outside a WalMart or grocery store. They didn't even have deposits - you just fed your cans in, it shredded your can up and dropped it in a bucket and spit out a couple cents per can. A forklift came and hoisted the buckets onto a truck and they carried thousands of pounds to the recycler on ONE truck. Where I live those empty unshredded cans are trucked all the way to Vancouver when shredded ones could go to the aluminum plant at Kitimat. Hundreds of time more on one semi going 1/4 the distance! As for paper bag, yeah wouldn't that be nice to see again, but we'd hear the usual moaning... no one remembers how to do that. It would take decades to train the workforce to make paper. Billions to build the new mills. So much cheaper to ship raw logs top China and make bags there. The papermills used to pollute and you know there's been absolutely zero progress in pollution control in the last 50 years.... would you want a stinky mill in your backyard? The Can't-servatives would have a heyday with that idea. -

Yeah you got something there. Force women to give birth, THEN shoot the baby after when pro-lifers don't give a flying fuck about it's welfare.
