The many problems with Electric vehicles.
herbie replied to taxme's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
That's about the truth. And you'd think half these ploughboys own stock in them the way the protest ant change. The epitome of ignorance. -
People who think calling refugee claimants and immigrants illegals are calling everyone else stupid. Blindly following Donny the Rapist's lie that he did something about it, drooling over videos of separated families and caged children as that satisfied their deplorable wantings somewhat. Lying that that continuing practice and mass deportations amount to wide open borders just cuz their Overlord isn't sitting on his throne. Touting their scabby philosophy that they're 'stealing' jobs from 'real' Americans who should demean themselves and be willing do those jobs instead. Uh huh, millions of people are just jumping the border and replacing you on the assembly lines, in the factories, driving semis with no license, selling insurance and on the Boards of Directors.
-
Aside from the bullshit quote, please tell us just how the border issue personally affects you. Are they camping on your lawn? Are they refugees or immigrants and do you even know the difference. Then sit down and think how using the blood of Ukranians to block a legislative solution because it's not exactly 100% of what you want benefits you in any way. After all, screwing someone else by doing something that screws yourself is the exact definition of stupid. Screwing someone else to no get any benefit yourself is merely dumb. Your choice?

The many problems with Electric vehicles.

Are you ever going to learn so much as a smidgeon of civilized discussion or are yo only capable of ad hominem, distraction, red herrings and incoherent babble? The entire point is that we are moving to reduce carbon emissions, that's all there is to it, like it or not. So we're moving away from 900 hp gas guzzling Chargers to get back and forth to work and Harleys that turn fuel into noise rather than horsepower. That means EVs, hybrids, fuel cells and hydrogen and over a decade to implement it. And if we don't by 2035, we'll be at least most of the way to. Thinking we can't is totally ignorant, thinking we shouldn't is beyond stupid and going out of your way to discourage others is simply a$$holic. You're trying to claim someone who doesn't live in a cement cocoon in Lotus Land and has driven years round for decades for a living in gas, diesel and propane vehicles that the inconveniences of EVs are something exclusive to them and there are no such inconveniences with ICE machines for people that live in the real Canada where it gets cold for long times and 'brownouts' are laughable compared to rural outages. How you won't survive without your 6L F150 4x4 to get to the 7-11 and back and have never even used that 4x4 lever except to spin your summer tires the day it snows. We here will use an F350 hybrid, and plug it in same as we always have, one with a Tidy tank in the bed as the gas station might be 200km away and no gas at all to drive to the office for a safety meet, the Post office or the gas station for a beef jerky. Me, i can manage today thru a foot of snow with a Wrangler that sucks back gas but 95% of my driving is well within the range of most BEVs now and I'm not gonna pretend I'm so butt poor I can't have a 2nd vehicle and use the Jeep just for road trips. I like driving and I like cars and I'm not squealing like a stuck pig because cars are evolving. You think my 1st '57 Chevy wasn't a steaming P.O.S. next to the 2005 Saturn Vue I just gave to my daughter? That my Dad wouldn't have shit himself comparing my Jeep to the one he drove in 1944 and cost double what his first house did? Things change, and that's never gonna stop whether you like it or not. -
He should already have been locked up umpteen times for Contempt of Court. Don't tell me anyone else would've got away with disparaging speeches and tweets about Judges, Prosecutors and defendants in ongoing trials.

So they're not pleading or offering evidence that he's not guilty, they're conceding he's guilty but inventing technicalities that he can't be charged. Oh well then the rapist isn't guilty either, he's just liable for it... that make it all good.

The many problems with Electric vehicles.
herbie replied to taxme's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
It's not here, we often sell it to California. It's also a Crown Corp. so if we think they charge too much, don't plan enough or revert to snivelling and whining, we vote out the govt for one that will do the job. I'm simply reacting to the prevalent 'it's not 100% so it's no good", "not perfect right f*cking now so don't even think about it" attitude so many cantservatives seem to be infected with. No doubt if there were no EVS they'd be whining about ethanol in their gas, go back to lead. I mean look at the stupid examples as if you'd drive any car with no fuel, or any car from LA to NY at -40 degrees and whine it took a little longer. Like just guess what the highest selling car model was in 2023. And we can't even find EVs on a car lot that you can drive home today, let alone "overflowing" with them. -
Individual (Household) Debt vs Government (State) Debt
herbie replied to August1991's topic in Business and Economy
Just until they take everything you owned when you die. Just read how the wife of an MP who was a CBC camera operator was "forced" to pay her CERB debt. No such headline for mine wife who earned $600 in CPP payments and that's all the year she died was also "forced" (her estate was) to repay $2200 in CERB and an EI overpayment. Lucky she had that much in the bank. Or would they go after 'her half' of the house? Unlike govt you can't play half the games with your debt. Or pull a 1980s Mulroney/Chretien and take and invent more wages from your Boss like they do with taxes. -
Duh, like double duhhh! You just answered yourself dummy. They're all smaller countries! There aren't any other 10 million sq km countries with 40 million people spread out in one 7600 km long thin line. There, saved you looking at a map or a library!

The many problems with Electric vehicles.

Duh! And I can buy 48 batteries for my computer mouse for $20 at Costco Same as if they were full of dimwits with their gas tanks on E Duh #2.... gee why not? and we just can't supply more electricity... it's just too hard.... breins hurt thinking about it.. Because they got too many, a failure of business planning not of EVs Remind Ford, Stellantis and GM of that. Might not have such a surplus if they built $30K city EVs instead of $150K F150s, Hummers and land yachts. Think about it: Supply and demand, all the batteries being made are going into new cars, not your local Lordco. Seen any MotoMaster ones yet? Course not, but yet and never don't mean the same thing. Seen any regulatory rules yet like they did with USB C and Apple? You can choose not to buy one, or you can choose to f^ck everyone else up out f sheer spite. Just make sure you vote for a dimwit PM with no vision or alternative or a rapist demented fraud for Pres that will END ALL EVs and promise you jobs while they kiss what's left of the N American auto industry to China. -
Trump: Nikki Haley Responsible for Jan 6 Attack
herbie replied to Rebound's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
She shouldn't think of dropping out. Damn good chance Republicans wouldn't even have a candidate to run election day if she did. -
I shouldn't have to explain the obvious and no one can to someone who's already convinced himself Canada isn't. Mr hardcoe Can'tservative... we do okay so why even think of doing even better
-
You didn't make any points other than to demonstrate your lack of comprehension. You understand how to drive a car, but not what makes it go.
-
eYou can't possibly be. These people have defined you out of both categories. Like they have to the vast majority of normal Canadians. Zealots. Your either with us 100% of the way or your agin' us 100%. Politics is the art of refusing to compromise at all, isn't it?

OMG I'm glad you have 0 influence over the economy, you have no concept of what one even is. Not a clue how internal trade affects an economy, eh? And try a bit of common sense about the 'immigrants' like the big city will get too crowded and expensive (like it already is) and things will spread out. You assume they've got the illusions of some Cdn born kid that they have an aboriginal right to tie their ass to some rock concert or shopping venue and everyone else must guarantee it. They'll move or they'll stop coming. They're bright enough to see Vancouver has 100 Indian restaurants and Dawson Creek doesn't even have one or there's no laundromat in this mining town and open one of those there. You think my ancestors worked coal mines and hay fields at the corner of Georgia & Granville? Or that I left Burnaby after half my life to earn a stake up north just to go back to an even worse concrete hell hole? So just stay on the rug throwing a temper tantrum that someone else should make things better all the while claiming the Party with the principal philosophy of 'do it your f*cking self' will do it for you.

How does one conclude that Trudeau's the "post-national" if he's the one that understands the country's 90% empty and we can't solidify an economy with a minimal internal market? Unless you define post-national as someone who thinks the country was perfect in 1953 and doesn't agree.

A ridiculous story? At a time people are protesting "Barbie" wasn't nominated for an Oscar? Look at the excrement spewed out in movies and TV these days.
