Are these machines at the pointy end and if so will we be able to keep them there as there is no one to share development and upgrade costs? There are money pits and there are money pits. The CH-148 is a poster child for what happens when politicians put their short term political interests ahead of the military's needs.

The CH-148. There will never be more than 27 of them. Will be whipping up spilled milk with this thing for as long as we have it. Even if it does turn out to be a good machine it will continue to be a troublesome money pit for as long as we have them. Parts are already a problem.

Yes but it was the Martin government that decided to go with a one off orphan that will be expensive, difficult and possibly impossible to maintain over the long term. We still don't have the last two because Sikorsky is waiting for parts. We can't expect anywhere near the Sea King's life span for that reason alone. The Liberals bought it for no other reason than it wasn't the EH-101 and they were willing to believe anything Sikorsky told them. There was no reason to try and reinvent the wheel, it's not like no other navy operates ASW helicopters.

The CH-148 program was started in 2004 by the Martin government. It was a case of anything but the EH-101. The Conservatives did a review on it and decided to keep it because almost 2 billion had already been spent on the project. In retrospect, that was a mistake. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/cyclone-helicopter-canadian-forces-1.7079088

When did Ukraine ever attack or present a danger to Russia? What did Ukraine do to deserve what is happening to them. If you think this is justified, you are the one who has no concern for its victims.
-
I remember that Putin’s territorial ambitions and unprovoked invasion of a neighbour is the cause of them.

The SAR helicopter is a derivative of the EH-101 which was cancelled by the Liberals. The CH-148 is over 20 years late and is turning into a disaster.

It was when we were in Afghanistan but after 2012 it dropped as low as 1% under Harper.

I know it hurts you. Finland could probably invade and take St. Petersburg right now.

You are beating your head against a wall. Some of these guys have little to offer except abuse. Best to just have your say and ignore them.

Check Washing (warning to all)

I've noticed that using cheques is far more common in the US than Canada. The US was very late to the party when it came to using chipped cards. Canada was using them for several years before the US and Europe was using them before Canada. Many businesses and individuals will only accept payment by e transfer now. -
Phone apps give you the ability to opt out, give location info all the time or just when the app is being used. I always opt out unless I can see the app needs that info to work properly, then I select, only when using app. The only exception is my thermostat which I allow to use phone location to determine whether I am home or out. I even turn that off if I am going to be away for an extended period. Using face recognition without approval is something else. You can and likely will be tracked on the internet unless you use a good VPN and erase cookies regularly.

Sure you do. A failed state that has fought what was supposed to be the world's second most powerful military to a standstill for two years.

Don’t know why anyone should be proud of being born female, or male for that matter. It’s not like they had anything to do with it.

Invading Ukraine was Putin's doing, he wasn't forced to do anything.

Should nato implement new rules ?

Germany is increasing to 2% this year. Most of US defence spending is not because of NATO commitments. For instance, you do not need 10 super carriers to defend Europe. -
