Is increasing immigration by 50% to 450k too high?
H10 replied to Moonlight Graham's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
From the government's perspective the immigration racket is obvious. Most immigrants are supposed to come to the country with money. It is not 1 million, but just $50,000 because you won't work instantly, so you have to cover your expenses, buy new everything spend it on rent, spend it on furniture, beddings, etc. So the immigrant ends up spending $50,000 on average and bringing that money from India or China of what is the lifesavings of a 30 year old or whatever in these nations. You multiply that by 450k people a year and you are looking at a 23 billion dollar cash injection into the Canadian economy A YEAR. The realtors, the lawyers, the schools, they make money off these people. Imagine you are a landlord in Calgary right now with that 40% vacancy rate. Right now, a bunch of immigrants coming in with money is some low hanging fruit, yeah let them in and let them rent my building so I can make money. And people talking about white immigrants numbers being low. why on earth would someone leave Europe where they have access to London (financial capital of the world) or the EU (access to Norway with lower taxes, higher quality of living and vacations in Italy, Spain and Greece) to live in this heck hole? Look at where Canadian immigrants come from, they are not coming from Bahamas, Japan, Qatar, Kuwait, Bermuda, Brunei and E.Guinea and Gabon. They are coming from the lower middle income countries in Asia, ME, Africa, Carribean. Countries who are just rich enough to have some middle class, but still poor enough to have a standard of living way below that of Canada. The European immigrants to Canada are largely from the dirt poor eastern half, the ukranians and russians. And who is going to pass over Germany, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and France to live in Nova Scotia? -
Your thoughts on official unilingualism?
H10 replied to Machjo's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I don't think anyone is suggesting English be banned are they? How does a unilingual English person get government services when you say they are a unilingual french province? It means you can call them and they sorry no English spoken here, no service. -
Trump is not a good person, but I see the appeal. Trump is a liar, he is a showman, and a typical con man, and Americans on average are stupid and susceptible to cons. Hilary was also a liar, but since Trump was the better liar, people chose the better one.

So are we suppose to hate Castro because America says so? How can we complain about political prisoners in Cuba, when there are American political prisoners in Guantanamo bay, Cuba?

Doctors and opioids, a troublesome connection.
H10 replied to SpankyMcFarland's topic in Local Politics in Canada
We should not blame doctors, people who get addicted to pills would find something else to get addicted, I took a bottle of oxy after my teeth were removed and I am not addicted. It is the people using them to get high off because they are "Safer" than dangerous street weed or coke that could be laced with fentanol which can kill you quickly. -
Studies seem to suggest that toll roads actually increase traffic. Strangely, having lived in Oslo,Norway, I can say tolls did nothing to reduce traffic and for whatever reasons, residents told me it made it much much worse. Toronto is going to get traffic armaggedeon because Norway has a far superior subway and train and public transit system that comes on time and is reliable. Tolls will not fix the problem, if they did, then they would make it temprorary until enough was raised to fix the problem. Tolls will rise over time and expand, they know people reject them, so the goal is to toll two highways now, tomorrow it will be the highway you use and then the major arteries. You will not be able to drive to the store without paying tolls when they are done with it. I hope John Tory loses re-election.

Meh, if he texted about getting carried away, I can see why the judge would infer rape. The judge has to make a logical conclusion. He is dealing with a highly educated man who is unlikely to just flat out admit the crime. These type of cases are the hardest cases because they are he said/she said and no other evidence. They are not "violent rapes" that involve a beating, ripping off of clothes etc. The suspected rapist has a reason to be at the house because of the relation between the victim and victimizer. Often the victim doesn't resist at all in these cases. So there is no real physical or forensic evidence in these cases. These cases come entirely down to words, and any word you use that suggest you did anything wrong will be used against you. If he had said/text nothing, I doubt it would have gone to trial. Or if he had texted great sex, lets do it again some time and it was really good, then he would not be in this situation. The carried away text suggest he went too far, crossed a line and he knew it. I'd sure hate to convict someone of such a serious crime off just words with no physical evidence but he sunk his own ship and has no one to blame but himself. It is an entirely reasonable inference for a judge to draw that there was no consent from the carried away statement. Anyways, the real problem in these cases is alcohol, they seem present in almost all these cases of rape.

"Disappearing Palestine" bus ads anger Jewish groups
H10 replied to Black Dog's topic in The Rest of the World
I think the fourth map represents Israeli settlements in the West Bank which are functionally part of Israel. Do you have any evidence that the Israel settlements occupy less than that area? I think Israeli academics and intellectuals understand this and even the government does on an intellectual level. However do the developers, who are making millions and billions selling Palestinian land care? Do the Israeli jewish people moving into those settlement zones care that they can get a cheaper house with a yard? The majority is not thinking long term, they are thinking I want a house with a yard now, and I can only get that land, that farm, in the West Bank. When you have 1 million Israelis living in the west bank with dozens of members in parliament, when that happens, do you think all those people are just going to leave? Or will they pressure the Israeli government to absorb it? Even if the map is not accurate, at the pace which Israeli settlements are going into Palestine, they will eventually just take all the land, absorb the entire thing and Israel will eventually become an Arab state. -
Trump is a racist, and so was Stephen Harper, so I don't see that as a reason why he shouldn't be elected.

"Disappearing Palestine" bus ads anger Jewish groups
H10 replied to Black Dog's topic in The Rest of the World
The maps are more or less accurate. The reality is there won't be a West Bank in 20-30 years, there will just be an Israel and a gaza strip. The West Bank will continue to be swallowed up by Israeli settlers and eventually just cease to exist. There is no political will to force Israel out of the West Bank, but they have an ever growing population. The irony of all this of course is that Israel will end up swallowing the entire West Bank, but it will be a poison pill. They are just adding more Arabs into Israel who will eventually out populate the jews and Israel will try to hang on to some form of an apartheid state at that point and no longer be democratic but ultimately will lose its grip. It is very ironic but has been repeated throughout history literally dozens of times. Powerful empire conquer weaker peoples, weaker people outpopulate the stronger people, stronger people try to hold onto power through apartheid system, which just invigorates the weaker people to overthrow the minority oppressors, minority oppress culture gets absorbed. This has gone on since the days of Rome with the Germanics and Greece with the Dorians and Arabia with the Ethiopians and Persians. -
An Island is a hell of a lot more difficult to defend, especially when it is connected to the EU and swarming with polish immigrants and baltic criminals who can avoid border patrol all together and just drive a big boat full of guns onto your shores or use helicopter and plane drops of crates full of guns. Taking away guns from police is going to be the answer because they are not using them in a responsible manner. It is really rare for anyone to shoot a officer in Canada despite widespread availability of guns. There is not really much incentive to shoot a policeman in Canada anyways, there is literally nothing to gain as we do not have a prison system that gives people 20 years for having a car with some drugs in the trunk. What evidence is there of native gun smuggling and do packages and vehicles heading to native reserves not have to pass through border officials? The islands like Puerto Rico and Dominican have a way harder time defending their ocean borders from American and Colombian drug /gun smugglers than land border states.

Well it has to be proportional, Toronto police can take down a guy with a knife without killing him, so I don't see why arresting an unarmed man who may be evasive should result in death especially when you have several officers there. If that is the case, we need to take away the guns from patrol officers and replace them with shields like in England.

Unless this is entirely on film, I doubt the police will be held accountable. They do not even have to give their notes over to the SIU which is suppose to be the criminal investigators and they do not have to speak to the SIU and can have their lawyer write their statement if any to the SIU. The law really needs to be changed, it heavily favors police even when they are clearly and blatantly in the wrong. Prosecutors don't want to prosecute them, judges don't want to convict them, civilians they pick seem to be of a below average intelligence and are much more hesitant to convict them than any other normal case and the SIU doesn't even want to lay charges on them. Even when W5 did an investigation several years back on unjustice police shootings where the stories didn't add up with the forensics, they were never charged. The fact that James Forcillo is the first officer ever actually CONVICTED of something, not even murder from an SIU investigation ever, tells you something is wrong in the current laws very badly. It needs to change. I could accept most police shootings and killings might be justified, but 1 in 30 years, that seems more consistent with a broken system. Could this be racial, there are alot of people who will make this inference, most people who are accused of what he is accused of don't get executed by police like that in Canada. However there is also the reality that police in Canada abuse force and kill lots of white people unjustly as well. For instance, will the SIU drug test the officer who beat him to death, will he have to take a steroids test or undergo a psychological evaluation to see if this officer has a history of abuse of force or was doped up. I doubt it, and this is the real problem. No accountability for cops who kill people. Cops who kill people should be treated just like anyone else, arrested immediately, presumed guilty until evidence exonerates them. The witness reports so far seem to suggest this was an unjust murder. However if the legal system is designed to let cops get off with murder as it currently is, it doesn't really matter what the facts are.

police shootings in US and Obama's comments
H10 replied to Rue's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
How did I know the guy who cries anti-semitism left right and center is saying y'all get over people getting killed. First you claim no one knows what systemic racism means, then you turn around and claim that systemic racism means all whites are racist. What an ignorant foolish comment. Police are not a race, it is a voluntary employment status. Obama has bent over backwards to defend police, IMO, he went to far defending the police. He stated there was no excuse for killing law enforcement. That simply is not true, the courts and police have found in many cases there are legal excuses for killing police officers, like the police sheriff who was shot dead while serving a no-knock warrant and was the shooter was not arrested or charged. And no, not everyone is racist, you are, stop projecting your racism onto us. America has a long enough history of racism against African Americans, that when there is a departure from how a white suspect is treated, a logical inference is the decision was racially based. In Baton Rogue, it is an open carry state, anyone is allowed to have a gun, most people don't get shot dead for carrying a gun in your pocket in LA is like getting shot for carrying a golf club in a bag in Canada. You are incorrect that its a subjective reaction, it is a reaction based off a strong historical precedent of white "law enforcement" officers who usually are white nationalism, white supremacist or KKK members killing innocent african americans and a disparity in treatment. These so called poor trainings, panicked officers, fear of guns seem to mysteriously disappear when hundreds of armed white men take over federal government buildings in Western USA. Also your double standard and racism are showing, no one is saying lets stay calm and find out what happened when the Dallas police or BR police are getting shot and killed. I don't know where you see this magical so called black militancy, but I do notice that the jews like yourself and many in media, like to play both sides and races off against each other. Why is it always some jew, whether it is on tv, or on this forum, trying to tell us about white-african american relations, you already said in a previous post, you are not white. This doesn't really concern you anyways. Whites and African Americans need to work through this issue, but not with non-white jews fanning the flames to incite both sides such as yourself. You don't see African Americans telling you jews how to solve your German-Jew problem or Jew-Arab problem -
Toronto School Board eyes "Afro-centric" school
H10 replied to g_bambino's topic in Local Politics in Canada
Afrocentric schooling will have African students and education as the focus rather than a tangenial subject of white people. Thinking back to my elementary and high school education, the only times African Canadians were mentioned was in the context of slavery or segregation and they were close to being non-existent in the books in general. They will be taught the same curriculum in the sense that they will have to learn to read, write, math, science etc. The difference is that the content will be presented from an African perspective not from a Eurocentric one. "Will the test scores be lowered to accommodate them in passing and getting a job?" The real question is why would you even ask that question? Who mentioned lowering test scores, although I think that assumption is very revealing on your part. Afrocentric education is highly necessary because what the parents have learned is anti-African hatred is widespread within Canadian society specifically Toronto, and that getting a job to work for people who hate you is not even a very good idea. In fact they are learning it is much better they simply start their own businesses than to deal with people who harass you for your skin color at work every day. "Indeed this multiculturalism program that was foisted on Canadians by Liberalism only ever offers disunity, and never unites." . You cannot "unite" with a societies that views you as a subhuman. However the African Canadian communities certainly can and should unite amongst themselves. You seem to be for unity, so long as it is not Acitas uniting with themselves. "With the Liberals constantly running the country I would not be surprised if every different ethnic group out there ends up having their own schools. In BC I believe that there are some Punjabi schools allowed. Who is next? " I don't know but Toronto has over 90 cultural schools, so if it is your general argument that cultural schools are bad, then you have to go back to the constitution because it starts there with the whole Quebec and catholic school guarantee. "Yup, multiculturalism, isn't it wonderful? It sure knows how to unite people together alright. " Well I do agree mutliculturalism, is a bad idea. its based on some myth that racist people who moved from nazi germany and facist italy, and the rest of the Nazi states of Europe who voted in Hitler and fought and died defending Nazism, will somehow walk into Canada become teachers in schools and somehow treat the people they were trying to murder and genocide in their home nations fairly. Anyone who believes in that surely must be an idiot. The idea you can get any unity out of that situation is foolishness. -

But the judges are perverts too, and they are the baby rapers,so odds are they will just find another way to get them off, how is it bill cosby gets charged but all them baby raping priest get off scott free, this is the problem with mandatory minimums, it is just too grossly unjust, one guy has sex with women who voluntarily come to his hotel room, get drunk and voluntarily take pills, and return mutliple times for more and he gets charged, another guy has sex with 10 year old boys and is let off free to repeat it. And don't think mndatory mins will come from Trudeau, especially against any crime women do.
-
the problem is the prosecutors are bad, the cops are bad, the whole system is bad. So what ends up happening, is selective prosecution. Mandatory minimums don't even ensure fairness. For instance, mandatory minimums might seem like a good idea for shooting someone in the back. But what if one guy shoots someone in the back for no reason or is just evil. Versus, I guy being robbed in his house and shooting the criminal to stop him from raping his wife or running away? See mandatory minimums say that shooting in the backs must all be treated equally. So either the cold blood shooter gets off with a 5 year minimum, or the rapist shooter gets a 20 year minimum. Add on to the selective prosecution, selective pressing of charges, and then you get back to square zero. For instance, there was a case in Toronto, where a man disarmed a kid, who was in his house, took his gun and shot him dead, and the friend ran away. No one was charged. This was a police call. They felt the kid broke into his house or shouldn't have been there and got what he deserved. The shooter was a black belt, didn't have to shoot him and kill him. I actually knew the guy. I don't think he deserved to die, but then again he shouldn't have been where he was. Mandatory mins won't fix the problem. Had this been a different jurisdicition in a different part of the country, or even a different part of the city, the guy would have a good chance of being charged and convicted.

China would be silly to provoke America into a war. As it stands right now, it is a one way relationship. America builds factories in China, those factories send goods back to America, and money into China. What does America stand to lose in a war? Well they get back all their factories and about 10 million manufacturing jobs, and the bleeding of money overseas weakening its own position. What does China win in a war? Even if they win, theyd estroy the country where all their money comes from. For America it is a win, win. If the Chinese were smart they'd avoid conflict with usa as much as possible.
