This isn't all that disagreeable. But why was Horse B banned from running for hundreds of years? Why was horse B enslaved by horse A and had his land stolen by horse A. Is that not some of the privilege horse A gets? All of horse A gets benefits from white privilege. The real question or judgement shouldn't be if he has it or not, or how much he has gotten it. The real question should be, what is horse A doing with his horse privilege.

To be accurate it depends on who writes the IQ test. IQ test written by whites show whites are the smartest. IQ test written by French show French are the smartest. And IQ test written by originals show african americans are the smartest. However, the people who have studied the IQ test have found the difference in scoring is due to difference in linguistics. There are about 6 ways to measure IQ. Vocabulary accounts for the difference in scores of white IQ test. In otherwords it isn't a difference of intelligence, it is a difference of culturally prefered language. For instance, a wasp is far more likely to know what a word like vituperative is whereas an African American is much more familiar with the term the signifying. This is why whites score so poorly on the Black written IQ test. I haven't seen a neutral IQ test. It would be very difficult to generate a neutral one.

White privilege refers to systematic and often subconscious biases that exist throughout society and largely but not exclusively to white people. It describes a social phenomena. It could be called european group colonial effect, it wouldn't make a difference in what it is describing. What is your issue in particular with the term that you feel it is aggressive?

That is true of any "riot" though. This is your perspective.

I think there are bad apples in any group. There are bad apples in my grade 3 class, bad apples in my high school, bad apples in my university, workplace, gym, on the road, at the airport, on the police force, in the liberal, conservative, ndp party. come to think of it, where doesn't have bad apples? If we are to abandon and leave and ignore every group who has bad apples, then we'd ignore everyone. Point to me a group where it is perfect and no bad apples? In a movement with millions of people you are going to have some bad apples who act for themselves. We also have to understand this is media 3rd hand reporting and they tend to want to exaggerate things, especially when its between race, their view is race sells. For instance there was a 5000 student riot at Berekely about a month ago, and but for a cousin who attends I'd never hear of it, it was ignored in the news. Oh, and its almost all white rioters. Ironically some of the French supporters have fire bombed msoques in peterborough and have beat and attacked muslims. should that mean we should no longer feel bad for french victims, or should we recognize that there are extremist every looking for opportunities to be extreme.

Your cops in Toronto were told to stop carding and said no, they are going to keep carding, then the mayor had to back down and publicly reverse himself and look like a fool infront of everyone. Your police service board in peel said to stop carding and the chief out there said make me. Police in Ontario, particularly in the GTA are immune from the law. And until we change the laws to change this, they will continue to kill and beat with immunity. Don't believe, look at adam nobody officer, who else could get so many appeals and get to keep their job after being convicted in a court of felonious assault with a weapon. My best friend in high school wanted to join the force, and apparently he couldn't because when he was 15 he hit a kid in the back of the helmet with a hockey stick in the middle of a fight. However had he waited 4 more years, he would have been given a gold star for doing it.

It always does when they discharge firearms, just today they killed a man in sauga. The cop will get away.

You want me to produce a court transcript here? You want it, go to the transcript office at the criminal court on 393 university avenue and order it. I'm not paying for your information.

The real question is why SYRIAN economic migrants. Why not real refugees in refugee camps like the ones in kenya and sudan and jordan who are being murdered by muslims for being christians?

Apparently they had been writing letters to him and trying to get meetings for 2-3 years to try to deal with these issues and he had been avoiding them at every corner. These are actually going back to 2010. He was essentially neglectful of his duties. If you take the job, yes you are going to have to deal with discrimination issues. You cannot just hide under your desk and refuse to do your job. He really did deserve to be fired just on that alone. Well the issue is that those are not protected grounds under the equal protection clause. Now if someone calls you the f bomb and you are a gay or the k bomb and you are a jew. We aren't talking about boys being boys, we are talking about actually illegal and in many cases criminal acts, federal hate crimes. If there was a string of rapes, robberies and shootouts on campus could the president just hide under his desk? if there was embezzlement in the school he couldn't get away with it. I don't think he should get away with not doing his job here. No he doesn't need to flagellate himself, but he should be removing this culture of hatred from the campus. The university is inviting in these students, they are providing a service and have a responsibility to not create and actively remove those who are committing crimes and who are making it a hostile working environment. They have a legal obligation to provide these services without discrimination. And having swastikas and race slurs aimed at you isn't fulfilling that. The students don't have anywhere else to live or to go. I don't think you can be "overly sensitive" when you paid thousands of dollars were promised a service without discrimination and have been denied your educational experience due to rampant racial discrimination. I certainly wouldn't be happy to pay $50,000 for a good or service to later discover it was covered in swastikas and subsequently have it degraded to the point it was untenable for usage.

Funny, a teacher tried to show both sides of world war 2 in alberta and that went very badly.

He was 16 feet away. Its about 2-3 steps. 1 shot doesn't always stop a guy high on drugs with psychiatric issues. cops are paid well, not well enough to get stabbed. I wouldn't have shot him. But I am not a cop, they are trained from a position to shoot butterflies. Cops are bad shots. 18% average hit rate according to the fbi. 9 rounds usually means 2 hits. And it was 16 feet up an elevated area in low light, with loud sirens. The error you make is forgetting there were lights flashing around the officer. So it wasn't like being in the dark looking in. It was being in the dark with a light flashing in your eye and looking into a dimly lit area. They are trained to shoot centre mass but to kill their suspect once they shoot. I think he did what he was trained to do. Cops are trained to shoot to kill. You keep shooting until the person is dead. Its not politicall correct, I don't agree with it, but this is what they are told. Its why they shoot like Rambo. Forcillo was charged for political reasons, it was bad optics for the department to have 500 people protesting in the street on every news channel and having that footage played over and over. It has nothing to do with the facts. If Forcillo is found guilty, there are about another 100 cases the prosecutor is going to need to go back to and try. I agree we have a much bigger problem. The cops supported forcillo, don't forget that. It wasn't like they arrested him after he did it. It was only after the sister got togather hundreds of protestors and got in on media 24/7 did they go back and bring charges. The cat is out the bag, prosecutors have already told cops they have a license to beat and kill and the judges have supported this. Look at the cop in the adam nobody case. Judges need police protection. Prosecutors need police protection. So the end result is police are giving a carte blanch to kill anyone when in uniform who posses any perceived threat. Should it be like this, no, but this is the law, change the laws. Otherwise we are getting selective prosecutions which are arbitrary and unfair. if your son was killed in the exact same manner, there would be no charges, we know this, we have about a dozen examples in peel where cops did the same thing. Killing unarmed guys they claimed had knives. You never read the sign properly army guy. Notice it says to serve and protect, but it doesn't say WHO! They serve the state (taxman, judges, prosecutors, other cops) and protect themselves. Theyd on't care abouts us peons.

The ones who were resigning and being fired. The dean was trying to sweep the racism at his school under the rug. Clearly the students felt it was such an enormous problem, so as to make this become an international news story. I think if you have racial slurs being used on your campus against multiple students you have a race problem on your campus. When you have students engaging in mocking other races using historically racist imagery you have a racism problem. When you have people drawing swasitkas of feces on original students school boards you have a racism problem. If you deny that, you are part of the problem. A president needs to look for solutions and not pretend discrimination and racism isn't occuring. Ironically, the president of the university could have simply got one of those very bright professors who teach about racism from the african studies department at Mizzou to advise him on the proper way to deal with these issues. Instead he chose to do what was probably his gut reaction and a bad reaction which was to deny and cover up.

University students have always been highly activist. You should not be a professor or a dean if you have an opinion that racism should be acceptable. Its as simple as that. Its not the place for you, go open a redneck bar or do something. Its like if you hate gays then don't go into fashion, or if you hate jews don't go into entertainment, it won't end well for you. All what would happen is that these professors would end up getting the school sued for millions that they would end up paying out.

De-escalation was the first option, Forcillo is heard on the tape saying to get the tazer to another officer. The problem was the suspect attacked the cops before the cops had a chance to de-escalate. Cops have more lateral to kill civilians than we do and you know it. You are wrong, every of the 3 cop pulled their guns, and the 4th pulled his gun but put it away because he didn't want to shoot his colleague in the back. You are misrepresenting the video, in fact the other officers pulled their guns a second time and all stepped back when they move in. The suspect charged them before they had the chance. After he is shot a cop runs through the back door, and the tazer comes, if Yatim didn;t charge the cops, then likely those things would occur. 16 feet away, about 2-3 big steps. The car has light but he is in the dark, so its hard for him to see if Yatim is even being hit or if he is faking it. Cops have low accuracy, 18% hit rate according to the fbi. 9 shots would typically yield just 2 hits. You aren't seeing the hit with those little cop guns. Well that is the difference between military and police. Cops shoot to kill. Military, we usually shoot to disable, because the top brass found that if you shoot a guy and kill him dead, well the 11 other guys he's with just leave him behind and keep coming. But if you shoot a guy and disable him so he can't walk or move, then 3 or 4 guys at least have to stay with him sometimes the whole group. The very last thing a cop wants to do, is shoot someone, injury them, and have them sue the cop after. Cops aren't like us. Its not the same, they are going to kill, they aren't going to stop, they aren't going to slow down, disarm, they aren't usually held accountable. Avillage of people aren't going to go burn down toronto because Sammy Yatim was shot, well actually they protested and that was the ONLY reason the cop was charged. There was unarmed men shot by cops in peel this year, multiple, cops have far more lateral to kill.

Stop him from shooting a knife wielding criminal who moved towards them in an aggressive manner?
-
Its not up to the cops to do that. Increasing the distance would be a danger to themselves and the public. They are never require to retreat, EVER. Although they may choose to do it. None of the officers retreated, because as I said, they believed it could be a situation with people on the floor hiding or dying. Also this is downtown toronto, there wasn't the space to stay out the danger zone. I am talking about court transcripts.
-
Get the transcript from the transcript office, then go and read it, where forcillo lawyer says it. How much time does it take for a man with a knife 16 feet away to stab you in the neck and kill you? I'd imagine in 1 minute a syrian would be eating your bones after he beheaded you. The driver ran away and never looked back according to his own testimony.
-
The transcript is available online for a fee, go pay it and read it, it was also in news reports. Any time you fire a gun there is a chance you shoot the wrong person by accident. I don't even need a source, its common sense. I already explained, in some cases violent individuals shield themselves with hostages, so they aren't shot because it is bad pr and looks bad if cops are shooting hostages. Anytime you pull out a knife if it dangerous, and when a cop pulls a gun it is even more dangerous.
-
on the second point, I don't think he said anything nor gave any statements to the official investigator siu, and this is the norm when an officer commits murder.
-
Except the bus driver said he ran away and never looked back, when he was on the stand.
