  1. I don't recall that. I wasn't allowed to have an interest in politics for most of my life. I'm coming late to the game, so I appreciate everyone's patience with me here.
  2. The Doc I worked for had a very foreign sounding name. When he was taking new patients, we got that question a lot - "Does he speak good English?" I don't find her rant refreshing, although I understand her frustration.
  3. You will have to prove to me that terrorists are in no way motivated by their religion. Especially when most of them acknowledge that it is. "Allahu Akkbar" ring any bells?
  4. Some behaviours I don't mind making excuses for - everybody has moments when they're stressed and rude or even completely ignorant to other people. I get that. But making excuses for rudeness is vastly different than making excuses for terrorists killing innocent people or revenge killings.
  5. My understanding is that hatred of the West's actions is just one of the motivating factors for terrorism and certainly that excuse has not even been invoked by many terrorists. They are also motivated by what Islam teaches. I'm not ignorant. I just don't think all terrorists are protesting the West's actions. And I also don't think killing innocent people is a good excuse for it. Neither is the religion. I said there is no excuse on either side and you're arguing with me on that.
  6. That is not what Goddess said. I don't make excuses for either side. I really think that's rude to change my words and then keep the quote saying that's what I said.
  7. Yes, I had noticed that. I just don't make excuses for either side.
  8. Does this excuse also apply to ones like the white guys in the UK who recently took revenge on innocent Muslims?
  9. Yes, I know that. The point, which you missed, is that I'm not sure you are correct in your blanket statement that pictures are not forbidden in Islam.
  10. Wow! How cool is that!?!
  11. It's a shame....Stonehenge was a highlight of being in the UK for me.
  12. I'm not sure about this.....Islam seems to be whatever the individual Muslim wants it to be. The Muslim girl I went to college with refused the photo ID required by the college on the grounds that it is forbidden in Islam. And she was accomodated. When I asked about it, she said there were many verses that forbid picture-taking. I'm sure some do allow pictures. But if an individual Muslim claims it is against Islam and invokes religious rights to refuse photo ID, I feel that's up to them - but that they also must accept the consequences of such a belief ie: no driver's license, no gun permits, no passport, etc. Same with the woman who sued Canada and got our laws changed to allow coverings at the citizenship oath. I read dissenting views amongst Muslims that did not agree with her doing that, claiming that hijabs and burkas are NOT a requirement of Islam outside of worship and that she did a big disservice to Islam by forcing her views on a country. But again, it appears to me that Islam is whatever the individual Muslim claims it is. If they personally do not want a photo ID, they will find myriads of "scholars" who agree with them and myriad of verses to support their view and then will invoke religious rights.
  13. I don't think this kind of thing is justified on either side - for terrorism or revenge. I feel like the world is being drawn into a war. I hope it's mankind's last religious war. Stupidity.
  14. I'm not. That article had nothing to do with immigration. It was about the struggle Muslims have to leave the religion.
  15. I apologize. I think I went off on a rant there, not to just you. I just find the view that burka'ed women will suddenly throw them off when they get to Western countries, way too simplistic. It's not so easy for them, I'm sure.
  16. http://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world/belgian-troops-shoot-terrorist-bomber-in-brussels-station/ar-BBCXAhv?li=AAggNb9 No deaths this time. Just the terrorist.
  17. In what way does atheism devalue human life and poison culture? Religion doing those things is quite well documented.
  18. Why are we not allowed to discuss anything but nanothermite on this forum?

The question you should be asking, Goddess, is,

Why will no one, all adults supposedly, not discuss nanothermite on this forum?

All I want for Christmas is some nano-thermite.

I'll burn up an empty beer can and send you some.

  19. Is there a reason why we're not allowed to discuss anything but nanothermite here?
  20. There was this one, too. Scary how fast it went.
  21. So........not going to answer the question, then. Okay.
  22. I wonder if you would be able to answer this question: I assume you're living in Canada or the US? Enjoying the freedoms, the fast food, the grocery stores, the slaughterhouse meat, the infrastructure of the country - buildings, roads, garbage pickup and mail delivery systems, maybe you go the movies once in a while or watch TV, etc.....the same things all the rest of us do. All this would be "supporting a nation that has stolen this freedom from hundreds of millions". So what are you DOING differently than the rest of us about not supporting Canada or the US? How do you show that you are not supporting a nation that steals freedom from everyone else in the world, but enjoys freedom? Does it just consist of coming here and repeating "nanothermite" on every post? Try, if you can, to focus on the question: You have judged all of North America as hypocrites and liars. How are you not a part of supporting the nation of Canada, who is your eyes should be wiped off the face of the earth and replaced with.....what?
  23. This was a good article. It interviews some closeted atheist Muslims about the struggles they experienced leaving the religion (I related to lots of their comments). One is wanting to leave but cannot at this time. http://robmcleod.net/2017/06/15/behind-the-veil/
  24. Yes, those were all factors in Fort Mac, too. Wind changed the course of the fire faster than crews could get a handle on things. I dont' want to put blame on anybody, I just feel it was a series of events, most of which were uncontrollable and when decisions have to made that quickly, I can't imagine how hard that is. I think Chief Darby did a fabulous job. For myself, I wish the evacuations had happened sooner. Our area went from voluntay to mandatory evacuation in about 10 mins. It was not enough time for anyone to get home and retrieve belongings or pets. Fire crews actually had to bring in dozers to mow down perfectly good houses to create fire-breaks as the fire was happening. This was heartbreaking for the crews and Chief Darby who had to make that decision. My ex texted me that day and told me about it....Later, I only saw that reported once in a news article. Edited to add: To their credit, fire crews did their best to quickly retrieve pictures and anyting else they could from the houses they had to bulldoze.
  25. Let's talk about your honesty levels, Hot Stuff. You start a topic on the Grenfell Towers fire in London. Out of the 32 posts by yourself on this thread, 31 of them are about 9/11, nanothermite, and WTC conspiracy theories. I'm being generous giving you your first post. Thank you for proving my point yesterday when I said you don't really give a rat's patootie about the fire in London or anyting else. If you want to reply to this post, I refuse to accept anything you say as honest unless you also post pictures of yourself, your daily schedule and your SIN #.
