  1. No where in those cites indicate that positivity rate for COVID is in question, using the PCR. The Antigen test is another story, but that's just a screening tool. Cite any Canadian official that is looking to attain COVID Zero. The Goal is to have the disease endemic. Vaccination will accomplish that goal.
  2. No one is asking for Purity. Except for NZ and Australia, And they're the ones actually suffering now because of a pathetic vaccine program. This is also a pretty pathetic list of things "suffering". No Dancing?!?!? Except on Tiktok, I suppose. Travel is a Global thing. It sucks but it's not a solely Canadian problem. Name me a country where travel is easy in this environment. So are all government conspiring to ruin the social lives of young adults?
  3. This was the plan once we reached this level of vaccination. I guess Delta changes things. It's still undetermined how much Death and Hospitalization 1/4 of the population can accumulate. We're still in the Summer time.
  4. Quebec seems to have a pretty simple system in the chute. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/how-quebec-vaccine-passport-works-apply-1.6151912 It's not any different than all those ridiculous waivers businesses make you fill out before utilizing their services. You provide the passport and proof that you're the person on that passport. Quite simple actually.
  5. It's also quite possible that COVID is spreading amongst the vaccinated at the exact same rate, but because they aren't experiencing any appreciable symptoms, there's no need to be tested. Which actually makes it much easier for the unvaccinated to get it, and get sick.
  6. Average US COVID-19 daily deaths back up above 1,000. Darwinism at work.

US averages over 8,000 deaths per day...even before COVID...must be Darwin.

Mostly due to Chronic disease. This is a transmissible acute respiratory disease. . . with a vaccine available.

There's a vaccine for the 3rd leading cause of Death in the US. And half the country won't take it.

  7. So then why are unvaccinated making up at the very minimum 3/4 of the cases even if they represent 1/3 of the population? Also, two flaws in the logic experiment. People who can't get the vaccine for various medical concerns or unvaccinated children who aren't eligible. Also, the reason the unvaccinated are being banned from places is because they're the ones who come to the Hospital clogging up the Healthcare system and causing surgeries to be cancelled. So, we as a society, are telling them to stay away from non-essential leisure activities and work environments. It's for their own good. ?
  8. A Study promoting Invermectin as a viable treatment for COVID-19 pulled because of ethnical concerns.

    https://www.theguardian.com/science/2021/jul/16/huge-study-supporting-ivermectin-as-covid-treatment-withdrawn-over-ethical-concerns

“The authors claimed they conducted the study between the 8th of June and 20th of September 2020, however most of the patients who died were admitted into hospital and died before the 8th of June according to the raw data. The data was also terribly formatted, and includes one patient who left hospital on the non-existent date of 31/06/2020.”

Hopefully they set up a new study.  The new drug out of Israel looks very promising.

  9. I don't like this talk about a Booster. Even with Delta, not a lot of people are getting very sick from it. Don't tell us we need a 3rd shot and say that the Vaccines are very good in the same sentence. It only fuels the people that think these are just ways of controlling us.
  10. If the Test result requirement is widely used it would have to be out-of-pocket. That would be an excellent incentive. Rapid tests go for $40. PCR tests go for North of $150 I think Government workers are having it subsidized.
  11. The State of Alabama has Zero ICU beds available due to a COVID-19 surge.

That doesn’t seem to be working as well as we thought.

      Because people aren't getting vaccinated.

Back to the beginning of the thread. Alabama has no ICU capacity. Not because their supply is lacking, but because their vaccination rate is embarrassingly low.

The solution isn't to hire more nurses, while droves are quitting. It's to get people vaccinated.

It’s people’s right to not get vaccinated if they choose.  Why would you risk shutting down society over and over, destroying children’s school years to make a political point?  Train more nurses so that they don’t get burned out.  There should have been a federal program a year ago.

  12. Well the more private businesses that buy into the vaccine passport, the less things Unvaxxed people will be able to do. It's not fascist, it's capitalism.
  13. No we're talking about ways to prevent people from getting critically from this disease. Being proactive! I hope you enjoy your time as a pariah!
  14. ..and the health of those they treat.
  15. Yeah, unvaccinated people are going to be treated like pariah. I'm all for it.

  17. I would have to know what the benchmark for Coal is to know if the price is due to coal returning to the mean or demand that is more than its ever been. I don't question that a vast portion of the world doesn't use clean energy for their electricity. But that, kind of, has to change. Moving to from Coal and Oil to LNG is a start. And also a big boon to Canada. If Climate Change is a real threat, it'll be these parts of the world with poor infrastructure that bear the brunt of the catastrophe. Sitting here in temperate Southern Ontario, I don't fear food shortages, drought, fire, poor air condition, energy insecurity or extreme heat. I guess the biggest threat would be mass migration to these parts of the world when/if other portions become uninhabitable.
  18. Not sure about India. China is investing heavily in Green on the home front. But with Road and Belt they're still bringing Fossil Fuels to the developed world. We in the west do it too by exporting Coal, Crude and LNG. Moving past fossil fuel for electricity is something the developed world is well on our way to achieving. Canada already uses renewables and low carbon solutions for a good majority of our Hydro. Our challenge it to move away from Carbon for transportation.
  19. That's the challenge. But it doesn't mean the First world should just ignore our obligations because societies that were stuck in an Agrarian lifestyle for their existence are just now trying develop using Fossil Fuels. Europe and North America seem mostly onboard. Unless populist isolationists take control of the US again.
  20. That's the point. They kind of need to leap frog that portion of development for this to work. They'll need the first world's help.
  21. Investing opportunity missed. Burqa futures are on fire right now.

Probably even better than my ethereum.

  22. It's not bribes, it's investment. Right now the developed world, and China is included here, is investing in the wrong things.
  23. It's not that fires exist, It's the record heat and drought that makes them worse, that is cause for concern. The Western part of this continent is in an extended period of perpetual drought and that will have consequences to our food supply. We'll need to adapt. Perhaps we don't need Almonds, as an example. Regarding Climate Change, the march to Net Zero is moving with or without Climate deniers. Almost all developed nation are on board. The concern is that emissions will continue to rise in the developing world as they can't afford the solutions the developed world is coming up with. So are we to subsidize their development. We should as we've benefited from 2 centuries of un-restricted carbon emissions, but now we stop then as they try to creep out of abject poverty?
  24. New Zealand to lockdown after one case found. The entire country. Less than 20% of the country is vaccinated. WTF is wrong with them?
