  1. Are they being denied any essential services?
  2. Ontario will allow such an exemption. Though for the narrow range of things that are being targeted by the passport, I would question why an immuno-compromised person would want to expose themselves to the virus in such a way.
  3. And your choice not to comply with public health requirements. And to face the consequences of that choice.
  4. Alberta's COVID caseload and Hospitalization is more than Ontario's with about 1/3 the population.

No, you fight mask mandates and lockdowns and vaccine passports and laws against shooting people in the face.

No I don’t fight mask mandates.  I do fight lockdowns because they’re destructive, especially to children.  Anyone that really cares about children would recognize that.

What about when Manitoba's ICUs are full and you're whining about them sending patients to Ontario? Only people who hate children would call for restrictions on indoor gatherings in that situation?

  5. So, perhaps, it would be good for everyone to take the vaccine so Hospitals don't have to cancel cancer treatment in the future. 90% plus people in Ontario ICU's are unvaxxed.
  6. Here's a good benchmark we'll need too look at. https://www.cp24.com/news/ontario-reports-554-new-covid-19-cases-16-more-deaths-1.5577020 As of today here's where we are. School just started yesterday. The VAST!!! majority of people in the ICU are unvaxxed. And they make up around 30% of the population.
  7. Well, getting vaccinated is not an unreasonable requirement. To most well-adjusted humans that is.
  8. You can be terminated, with cause for not complying with Workplace Safety measures. I'd like some of the Anti Vax crowd to highlight some promising court cases you think will have this overturned. Cuz this is happening in the 3 largest provinces. I don't know of any credible way for it to be stopped. Or is this like with Trump's challenging of the election, the Kracken keeps never getting released.
  9. That could happen. It seems the only National Party that is for "Vaccine Freedom" is the PPC. And a vote for them is most definitely a vote for JT and the Liberals. Even Alberta will be dragged kicking and Screaming to a Passport. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/mandatory-isolation-testing-to-continue-indefinitely-as-alberta-covid-19-cases-rise-1.6166352 Kenney is starting to bribe people with $100 Gift Cards. That's pathetic.
  10. First-dose vaccination is approaching 85% Nationally. It's going to be a very lonely world for Anti-Vaxxers this Fall.

      Perhaps when cases drop again.

You can choose to give up your own freedom, but you can’t give up other people’s.  The sooner you come to grips with that the better off you’ll be.

I'd rather not lockdown again. So I'd prefer unvaxxed people stay out of large indoor gatherings where masking is impractical.

The unvaxxed are the ones making a choice.

  11. In this case the public good argument applies. Especially when considering the decorum of many Anti-Vaxxers. It's not likey the present the most intellectual argument. The activities that a passport will be applied to might otherwise be subject to a total lockdown. And that's not in the public good, considering 2/3 of the population or more people have gotten vaccinated with little or no issue.
  12. So what are some solutions for the Ocean pollution problem? More clamp down on Wild Caught Fishing operations? Does the Greenhouse effect and subsequent warming of waters not contribute to the health of oceans? A lot of things are reaching a tipping point. More fires release more carbon, more melting permafrost releases more carbon. Moving off of Fossil Fuels is certainly one of the steps required.
  13. You didn't think governments haven't looked at this already? https://www.priv.gc.ca/en/opc-news/speeches/2021/s-d_20210519/ So if it can be determined the Passport can be for the public good, and would be effective at the perceived goal, it is legal. Privacy is a bit of a BS argument.
  14. No it isn't. There are plenty of restrictions on travel and work. Perhaps for workers. Depending on the type of work you do. But not for patrons. If "No Shoes, Not Shirt, No Service" is Legal, so is "No Vaccination, Not Service". My work has mandated Masks and Social Distancing. How is mandating vaccines all that different?
  15. Even if it was, it's far less than letting the disease mutate amongst a largely unvaxxed population. That's the weakest argument against vaccination yet. The goal here is to make the disease endemic. Meaning people can get it, but it's either not noticed or the symptoms are mild. We can get their by herd immunity through natural transmission or through vaccination. It seems the vaccination route will lead to fewer ICU visits.
  16. Perhaps you need to work on your English. "Prediction" and "Fact" are different words and have different meanings.
  17. None of your post is a fact, just your delusional anti-vax opinions. The shutdown is looming if unvaccinated people keep getting very sick. The anti-vax community has not en masse moved their talking points to transmission. When we know lockdowns aren't caused by community spread, they're caused by Hospital systems being strained by very sick people. Which then leads to diminished care for the entire public, vaxxed or not.
  18. Toronto Doctor ringing alarm bells for the ICU numbers steady rise. What's he complaining about? Just give them Invermectin! ?
  19. That's in lieu of a Vaccine mandate. If you had one and knew everyone at your works was vaccinated you'd likely not need masks.
  20. Yet only a quarter, or less, of the positive cases in Ontario are coming from vaxxed people.
  21. Yes. They announced their passport yesterday. I hear BC's is a bit more extreme. One would hope this encourages vaccination, so maybe they don't need to expand. Ontario is initially not blocking retail or personal care to unvaccinated. But if numbers increase, I can see that added. I too am going to be skeptical if they resort to Lockdowns again. I'm hoping they won't. But the vaccine passport thing is broadly popular in Canada. Opponents are on the fringe here. Jim Crow wasn't a public health policy.
  22. And know this has become a circular argument. But a vaccinated person is much MUCH less likely to get sick than a an unvaccinated person. We see with Hospitalization data, that 80-90% of the Hospitalized are unvaccinated, even though they make up 30% of the population. The Passport in isolated to unessential indoor activities, in large groups, where mask wearing is unlikely and/or difficult. So the Jim Crow comparison is ridiculous. Hospitalizations are already going up amongst the unvaccinated. The passport is an incentive to get vaccinated and. . . YES a punishment for those that choose not to because they're way more likely to get sick. So they probably shouldn't be in large indoor groups unmasked. I know you disagree, but a majority of governments in this country do agree. So here were are.
  23. 80% of new cases are unvaccinated. And that is compounded by the fact that 2/3 of Ontarians are full vaccinated. I suspect many vaccinated people are being infected, but not getting tested. You need to have symptoms to get tested.
  24. The reports of deaths can't be verified. https://wonder.cdc.gov/vaers.html How did the vaccine cause these deaths? Or were they just examples of correlation vs causation. With hundreds of millions of Americans getting the vaccine, it's quite possible, even likely, some would die within a few days or weeks. And I know the retort. We can say the same about COVID death totals. And I would respond that all deaths reported should be investigated. We know it's happening in Ontario, where daily death totals aren't usually deaths that happened that day, but after an investigation. Sometimes the death happened days, weeks or months after it's reported. Ontario reported 14 deaths today. Few actually died yesterday. https://www.cp24.com/news/ontario-reports-multi-month-high-of-nearly-900-covid-19-cases-14-more-deaths-1.5570833 Also, I suspect many COVID-19 deaths are established because the person had been hospitalized for a good period of time. A big problem with COVID is that people tend to linger on a Ventilator for weeks before expiring.
