  1. 1. That would only make sense of the 'managers' were also the 'owners'. Was it a strata? If it was a strata, they wouldn't likely want the 'teardown and rebuild scenario'. That's something that would only benefit a corporation owned by people who don't live there. 2. Would they gamble with their lives though? They lived there, probably with their children. If someone told me that my house might collapse I wouldn't stay here with my kids, just hoping to get an insurance claim. 3. A low # of Covid deaths in your state, and a lack of strict regs don't necessarily stop individual businesses from closing, or ensure that their workers will show up. Getting things done during covid was hard. In BC we're having a heat wave and some schools are closed (portables don't have AC), some workers are not showing up to their jobs, etc.
  2. "Urging managers to get it repaired" still isn't the same as "warning managers that the building was at risk to collapse". Keep in mind, this wasn't a case of people in one city letting people in another city take a grave risk, the managers also lived in the building. Apparently the person who said that they needed to get repairs done either underestimated or understated the severity of the issue. Also, just remember that repairs of that scale can't just get done by anyone within a week or so. There is a process involving engineering firms and city hall that isn't always quick - and 2020 was the covid year, aka a gongshow.
  3. It's inflation. The currency is de-valued every time our government just miraculously creates more currency. Think of it this way - if the government just gives Canadians a trillion dollars next year, that doesn't mean that everyone can rush out and buy a Lamborghini because the number of Lamborghinis doesn't magically increase at the same time. The price of a Lambo would just up from $249,000 to $360,000 or whatever (just a wild guess - I'm not in the market for one). This is how Biden is going to achieve his $15/hr goal. The Biden administration is giving out so much money that it is devaluing their dollar. Soon people will be getting $15/hr, but those $15 will only have the same buying power that $12 (approximation) has today.
  4. The biggest obstacle imo will come from the gas & oil sector. There was a very good documentary called "Who Killed the Electric Car" about the Saturn EV that was made over a decade ago, and why it didn't become popular. Among other things mentioned in that video, 1) Texaco bought the company that had the patent on the batteries they used in that car, and they sat on it, 2) for some strange reason, the person who invented that battery was stopped from writing in popular science magazines about the success of his batteries and what they meant for the automobile industry in the future, and 3) the ads that they made for the car were basically a list of reasons why not to buy them. It was like saying: "The 2021 Corvette - you can only fit two people in it, it hardly has any trunk space, and it burns 3x as much gas as a Nissan Altima while only getting up to hwy speeds 1 second faster."
  5. Bingo. The Libs and Dems see the federal budget as an unlimited resource for paying off the MSM and low-income voters. Joe Biden was just bragging about the fact that people aren't working because they're getting so much covid money. The stupid old bastard thinks it's great that people won't get off their asses for far more than they're worth as employees. Abysmal leadership can sink anything, and right now the SS America is in iceberg and mine-infested waters.
  6. If this is in any way legitimate it is an enormous game-changer. Elon Musk & the ME'ers must be shitting their pants right now. From Elon's POV, there are a lot of problems with EVs that environmentally conscious people are willing to overlook right now because they have no other viable non-petro option, but the ammonia-hydrogen combo apparently has no such obstacles. There are no dirty battery issues, no $10,000 battery replacements, no range issues because extended charging sessions are necessary, and when there's a heat wave the government won't be telling you not to gas up your ammonia-hydrogen car. As far as the major car companies are concerned, this is right up their alley - another internal-combustion engine. "CHECK OUT THE 2025 CLEAN CORVETTE WITH 818 HP AND NO CATALYTIC CONVERTER!" Good luck selling Teslas if this is legit. I wouldn't buy Tesla stock right now with Trudeau's money. For the MEers like SA and Iran this is a huge blow. The world's dependance on them could vanish in just a few years. Countries would no longer be forced to ignore their insane bigotry issues just to keep their own economies running. Look to the Chinese to go nuts with this technology, as they're the world's largest importer of petro products right now.
  7. No. Reconciliation is a moving target. There will always be negative people whose favourite hobby is bitching about how shitty everything and everyone around them is, and making excuses for why they never managed to get their own shit together. We need to be in the days of tuning them out. Their sad saga always starts with: "Back in 1949..." or "In 1793..." and it ends with "and that's why the people who work 60+ hrs a week are doing so much better than I am." I get that it's a tragedy that children died in residential schools but the people who are making the loudest, dumbest noises are the exact people who would have been screaming: "We need to educate those children. We can't let them wander the frozen north, living in the stone age, while we're chillin' in our 19.5 degree living rooms watching TV."
  8. Wow, you're a hateful one. What makes you think that S A is slaughtering Yemenis just for America's sake? Do you think that the Saudis are above a bit of war? Your brainwashed version of the Israeli/Palestinian situation would make Al Jazeera blush.
  9. I think BB is wondering if we should have some kind of increase in the federal budget for promoting it, for education (it would be a complete farce, they'll say stupid things like "Pocahontas invented MTV but the white man stole it", etc, but whatever), should Ron MacLean be compelled to bother us about it when we try to watch HNIC like what happened with BLM propaganda, etc.
  10. Were they accusing us or just saying things like: "This is how we woulda done it. Leave no trace. And why the F would you admit to anything?"
  11. Healthcare - where the nurses union had a hissy about the fact that volunteers were doing work that could be done by union members making $70K/yr with benefits like "2 paid sick days/month" etc. If our PM would have started fighting covid with any intelligence at all, back when every other world leader was running circles around him, we could have saved enough money on covid to put everyone in Canada through university.
  12. Lol. "What do you do all day" - said the POTUS who was only visible for 1/2 an hour, recorded, every 3 days, while he was running for President. On a more serious note, irrational outbursts of rage are a symptom of dementia: https://www.health.qld.gov.au/news-events/news/dementia-signs-symptoms-recognise-what-to-do Honest to god, Biden checks all of these boxes every single time he talks, and he only ever talks briefly and takes a bare minimum of pre-approved questions from the most obsequious members of the sycophant media.
  13. 1) I'm happy for any decent people to come to Canada, the problem is that we never send the irredeemables back and we never screened anyone to find out whether or not they were irredeemable before they came. Even if they commit terrorist attacks here they get to stay thanks to our village idiot. 2) We don't disparage them, but we bring up inconvenient truths. On the other hand, as a group, muslims here are extremely disparaging of Israel and Jews. Their propaganda and their quds day hate rallies are atrocious to everyone outside of the liberal MSM and our PM. They also spread their bigotry here when the attack on the mosque happened and they started acting like it was the first terrorist attack ever here regarding muslims. They rush to claim victim status like no other group of humans ever.
  14. Our PM is probably taking acting lessons right now, just so that he can squeeze out a few more crocodile tears for the sycophant media toadies who fly in the election propaganda jumbo jet. La Turd: "Peons, see my grief. I wish that there was something that I could do for these lost children." Peons: "Maybe get some drinking water for their kin." La Turd: "RACISTE! RACISTE!"
  15. So what's the deal with this story now? They haven't found a way to make it seem any more sinister, and they're worried that if they keep talking about it ten eventually they have to 'fess up about the most likely scenario, and the original reasons for having res schools in the first place? Is it time for this story to quietly exit stage left, there to remain as a bogeyman waiting in the wings, to be trotted out for pre-election virtue signalling?
  16. @dialamah what's to get upset about? Do you not know that there are muslim-only buildings in Canada? A man in Quebec was forced to move out of a building just so that it could be free of non-muslims. How is that not morally repugnant and bigoted? It's not the only one though: https://globalnews.ca/news/2187517/toronto-city-councillor-says-muslim-only-subsidized-housing-is-acceptable/ Isn't it weird that they have to have a building which is religiously pure? And by weird I mean - religiously bigoted. If you can't handle being around people who don't share your exact belief system then you're a bigot and it's actually dangerous to allow bigots to balkanize. It's not just muslims that complain about the word Christmas, or seeing crosses, etc, this is a broad statement that applies to all kinds of religions and cultures - how about if people just fuck off if they don't like it? Why should I give a shit about what people don't want to see when they move to a new country? It's the height of bigotry and stupidity to think that one can move to a country and force the people there to change to accommodate them. I don't feel bad for saying that Christians should be allowed to celebrate Christmas, and say that word. It doesn't get me all bent out of shape if Jews celebrate Hannukah, Indians celebrate Dhiwali (Surrey pretty much celebrates Dhiwali), Chinese to celebrate New Year's Day late, or any other cultures wanna party or observe or whatever the hell they want. It's just the height of ignorance to say "no one can observe any holidays that I don't".
  17. We're not making 'progress' when we bring in people fast enough for them to start balkanizing instead of operating in a healthy multicultural society, and we cater to their balkanizing demands. "We want our own buildings, we want our own towns, we want other people to stop displaying their religious symbols while we display our own religious garb", etc. It's silly. If people want to live in a country where only their religion can be seen in public then they should have stayed where they were.
  18. I wouldn't even swear an oath to Canada in 2021. Luckily when you sign up to join the Canadian forces that oath to serve/protect eventually expires.
  19. The MSM in Canada is so far left that they're officially a fringe group now. Canadians know more about the comical bimbo who accused Brett Kavanaugh of almost raping her than they know about our own PM's actual crimes.
  20. By contrast, in the US, the FBI was able to force the president to hand over tens of thousands of pages of documents, his administration was subjected to hundreds of interviews under oath, and it was all predicated on some bogus intel that an opposition member covertly paid Russian spies for, and $200K worth of FB ads that targeted both sides of the election to sow discord in the US. The FBI even committed crimes in the US in their attempt to prosecute the POTUS, but in this country the RCMP stopped when Trudeau wagged his finger and our media looked the other way. Ironically, to point their fingers at Trump lol. Our country is a gigantic shit-show now. Our media is a left wing circus and the news anchors here are the carnies.
  21. Because the PMO is using cabinet confidentiality to block the RCMP, like it said in the article, which I quoted for you, and then bolded. I guess that they can still do "an investigation", they just can't question the witnesses or look at evidence lol.
  22. The federal government gave the CBC $695M right after Trudeau got elected in 2015, then they gave another $600M to "select media outlets", at the discretion of the CUPE leader who considered his union "the opposition to Andrew Scheer". That's $1.3B 'for the cause'. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/politics/article-ottawa-blocks-rcmp-on-snc-lavalin-inquiry/ No, the RCMP cannot investigate the government, especially when the media is just ho-hum about it for a day or so and then drops the issue altogether. If the media covered SNC with 1/10th of the passion that they covered Trump then there would have been an investigation.
  23. Go back through all of your posts and then tell me who needs some 'education' by your standards..... According to you, Canada needs to stop forcing FN children into res schools to be murdered some day in the near future, the US need to become less racist than the rest of the world because they were the only slavers, police need to let people shoot tasers at their heads from close range, muslims don't commit more terrorist attacks than other religions/cultures, etc. I can't take you seriously.
  24. Stop putting words in our mouths. No one said that all muslims are irredeemable. You're quick to act like Canada is horrible because 215 kids died of the Spanish flu or TB over 100 years ago, in residential schools which we all agree brought shame to our culture, and now you're distancing muslims from the actions that are committed by hundreds of thousands of muslims today and supported by tens of millions. Almost every muslim on earth cheers when they see thousands of murder rockets flying into Israel, while the Israeli military has killed less than 100,000 soldiers and terrorists since their existence, and almost no women and children. Almost all muslims want Israel wiped off the map "because of their human rights abuses". Muslims don't care at all about Pakistan, which was created at the same time the same way, where they have committed two genocides killing ten+ million people, including women and children. That wasn't done with bombs, it involved tens of thousands of men willing to slaughter people with small arms fire and knives. Their human rights abuses make Israel look like paradise. The appalling, world-wide level of bigotry from the muslim religion is sickening, and you're an enabler/defender of that violent bigotry. You share their propaganda and shout down accurate and truthful criticism.
  25. I never said that there was actually 'a religion of peace', I don't think that's actually a thing. I also don't think that atheism is the 'culture of peace'. No large group of humans is ever free from warmongers, racists, or turds of every kind. No one should be 'venting', and no one should be offended by the truth.
