No. The biggest scare from C19 is that it is the perfect weapon for governments to get rid of dissidents (like the insurgents from Jan 6). What if one of Putin's or Kim Jung Un's doctors say to a peon: "Although you're asymptomatic, our test shows that you are carrying C19 - you have to go to a quarantine center (where people are expected to die in large numbers)."

It's important to note that some people have trotted out that stat using data from the early months of 2021 when almost no one was fully vaccinated. It's akin to saying that "Everyone who got sick or died from C19 in 2020 was unvaccinated!" No one was vaccinated back then - the 'stat' is pure misdirection.

Leading causes of death in the US: There are 1.7M people who die in the US every year from heart disease, cancer, chronic respiratory diseases, stokes, Alzheimer's and diabetes. Drs who hate Trump, and are willing to lie like Dr Ford, had ample opportunity to use C19 as the cause of death for up 1.7M people. The covid death stats even point out that the vast majority of people who died from C19 were elderly and had one or more of those diseases. C19 didn't "kill" all 600K of those people, the vast majority of them were already walking on the edge of their graves and covid gave them a nudge. Ignore the anecdotes about "This healthy guy died of C19", because the flu does that every year. Almost 400 children die of the flu in the US every year, and that number last year was less than half the normal amount. Between 1,000-2,000 children died in the swine flu year, when Obama was Prez, and there were no lockdowns, no school closures. Control? Power? To sell vaccines? To make people dependant on the government, instead of capitalist economies? Lots of reasons. Gov Cuomo got busted for lying about C19 deaths, and he received an Emmy for his C19 bullshit that he never had to give back. Time will tell that C19 indebted us to China bigtime, and that our leftists governments love to turn our citizens into their dependants. Just remember that at the beginning of C19 it was leftists in the US that were saying "Ride the subway like normal, go eat in restaurants, go to Chinatown and hug lots of people in massive crowds, don't wear masks, don't block travel from China, travel bans against China are racist", etc. Our own government did absolutely nothing about C19 until March 16th. That was the very first day that they took actual, physical action. It was pathetic. Leftist media in both countries promotes all of those people as C19 heroes, while they promoted Trump as a drastic failure. He was the only one who actually 'fought' covid in January of 2020. You need to consume a full Kg of HCQ to start experiencing vision problems (5 years of dosing), but if you take a year off HCQ you can start again. People are dying of the vaccination. Not just a few, a lot. And with the vaxx it's not just elderly folks with co-morbidities that are dying. That's another fact. Western separation issues are small from Quebec's POV. Quebec has punitive agreements with other provinces for Hydro power, they get special status, they have a larger proportion of the vote than they should, the federal government strips jobs from other provinces and moves them to Quebec, and Que receives boatloads of money from confederation. So what if Alberta doesn't have as many MPs as they should, or if their resources are on hold because of the will of Quebecers, or if Albertans only ever give money into confederation and then get small loans in return if they come on hard times? Separation is important. Canada sucks, bigtime.

Guys are getting paid a lot of money in construction right now. They're paid based on their ability to get a lot of things done, and if they were to drive a Civic then there would be a lot of things that they couldn't get done. I end up renting a truck/cube van about 8x per year and I don't even work in construction. I still save a lot of money because of the amount I save on fuel, but I get how tradesmen need trucks.

I don't remember ever paying for gas by the gallon, but I do remember filling my Honda Civic with less than $20 when I was a young man. Now it's about $120 to fill our Murano and the tank is approximately 1.6x the size. It's painful.

Agreed. The only thing that I like the imperial system more for was MPH. When I was a kid and we were x number of miles from something and the speed limit was 60 MPH it was just straight conversion from miles to minutes. With kmh it's not as easy. 110 kmh doesn't work out well. 120 is a simple divide by 2, but you can't count on going over the limit by 10-30 kmh. I still use imperial for house and lot sizes too, but that's from habit and not because it works out better in any way. I don't know if I could ever change, it's too automatic for me.

The only option that we have is to acknowledge that CBC is a disinformer, and to treat them accordingly. They can't be allowed to control social media, period. It's not enough to allow liberal or conservative demagogues in small communities to have their own websites, getting honest reporting/information to 4% of the population isn't a solution.
