  1. Hard to do when those same nations you listed are in bed with other nations who do the very same thing, yet they are tolerated. "Why is that, oh Socrates?" "Because my son, no sensible man attempts to profit from worthless things. But inasfar as greed is a desire for profit, then it is also a desire for the good. Thus, everyone is greedy."
  2. Love you, CKWS News, for your small-town format and emphasis on local content.

The morning show is run by two guys, one guy seems like he's real smart, the other acts kinda dumb. Or he might really be dumb, it doesn't matter much out here. These two play off each other very well. They handle everything, local news, international news of significance (sans the opinion and hype! thank you! thank you!). One guy does the weather with the blue screen thing. They try their best.

This morning's cultural immersion story is how someone figured out how to use a McDonald's french-fry container to hold the ketchup. By folding down the lip of the box on one side, you have a small container. You can put your ketchup in there, and dip your fries. Awesome idea! Mind blown!

Word has it the producer, an old-school news guy, refuses to adapt to the new "infotainment" format that has become so popular on news shows these days, like CBC, CTV, although being pressured by management to "modernize" the show. I like it the way it is- no opinion panels. No hype, just the information. You are free to form your own opinion. But producer guy is set to retire in a couple of years. Sadly things will probably change after that, and the quality of the content will go down. This is what some people call "progress".

Here's a great web site too. Blissfully devoid of any mention of Donald Trump!
      Almost all Canadian content.

      Bless you guys...

  3. Agreed that it won't be a game changer but perhaps some might think twice before engaging with or visiting China to do business. Perhaps more so than they would if China didn't have this problem. Yes yes I know, economics, etc. Didn't want to say this but the situation can only help Donald Trump. Triggering China is like giving a dog red meat, there is no doubt how they will react. Total bulls-eye. Just one small move did it too. Really makes me wonder if somebody is either a genius, lucky, or a complete madman...
  4. Naive? I was aware of this before you were even born.
  5. This behaviour by China will only alienate them further from the free world, as it's likely that any Canadians or Americans now working there are having serious thoughts about making an exit. Others might not want to go there out of fear they too could be detained, since the Chinese government demonstrates how they will lash out in revenge at anyone if there is an international incident. This incident exposes China's true face to the world, but if anything good comes out of it, it's that people will stop being naive about China and might stop doing business with them.
  6. Because it's easy for a woman to do up her hair, put on a little makeup, wear a miniskirt, push-up bra, to turn most men into drooling dogs. "And all females is poison! Them and their wicked wiles!" - Grumpy
  7. I see. With the exception of Texas, aren't those mostly democrat states?
  8. Don't forget that despite the greed, it benefited those who came to America to work, make money, and send it back home. Because back home is where the real shithole country is. In Mexico you cannot be so easily exploited for monetary gain, even if you wanted to. Hence they migrate.
  9. I think they need to do both things, build wall and enforce their laws. But the idea Paul is floating is not being talked about much by others, from what I can tell. Perhaps there isn't much interest in shutting down the undocumented-migrant-cheap-labour industry.
  10. That is actually a sensible sounding suggestion. This same idea is being promoted by former US Congressman Ron Paul. Saw it on Fox News Sunday this morning. Probably the only news show on the air atm that is not blatantly biased.
  11. Thanks. My post represents the not-so-silent majority that will tell the Islamic party to go and fook off... for obvious reasons.
  12. Liquor, drugs, adultery and gambling should be banned? Count me out.
  13. How about our equally shitty non-allies? I think that peacenik fence-sitters have an unpleasant surprise coming if they believe that oppressed peoples whom they bleed for are gonna be thankful for their efforts, and will join them in a loving, future utopian world where we all get along. This is where the left gets delusional. They forget that man's inhumanity to man is a universal constant. Our worst allies are the same as our enemies. Why is that? There is this thing called necessary evil. Yes, in order to win we've got to beat them into the dust, in an all out down-and-dirty fight complete with hair pulling. (the kind you love, my little friend!). If we stop it, the shit is on us, so that's the way it's gotta be. But looking to the long game, there is still progress being made. The direction we're going in IS BETTER, overall. Our enemies treat their own people far worse than we treat ours. That is the difference.
  14. In politics, you are free to trust whomever you want. But you do so at your own peril.
  15. No worries boss! Keep up the good work. Now what to do about these posters who totally flood the forum with non-stop nonsense? I know, it's not really against the forum rules, but hey. As to the "hackers", not a problem. I don't need any more forskolin anyway...
  16. Screw you CBC news, for your obvious, politically driven agenda. I'm cancelling my subscription.

    Now back to "Fishful Thinking"...

    1. DogOnPorch

      DogOnPorch

CBC is a sewer. A shadow of former greatness propped-up by taxpayer money (including Conservatives and NDP supporters) to drive the Liberal Party's agenda.

I'd throw the whole mess down the well, if charged.

  17. You asked: Which cannuck kindly provided. Now that he's done that it seems you are attempting to move the goal posts. The issue is political, but not partisan.
  18. Agreed, and not always due to virus/hack attackj
  19. If JT has any balls he would now tweet: "Canada will welcome all Saudi Arabian women seeking asylum from their oppressors."

    But he don't

    1. scribblet

      scribblet

      He should include Pakistan.

  20. Dude, they are all guilty. Only a moron would put their trust in the these people. Wouldn't be surprised if they gave Hillary the answers before asking the questions.
  21. While I disagree in principle that free speech should be curtailed by government, it can be threatening to our society if certain political/cultural movements take hold. Cultural "movements" make use of politics to establish their agenda. What we must not allow is to threaten the core principles of Canada, and these by and large also relate to tolerance of free speech, among other things.
  22. Yep. Complaining about him not testifying under oath to a bunch of lawyers is like saying "Why isn't he more stupid?"
  23. It's amazing that Trump is still polling as high as Obama at this point. This despite the intense media insanity he faces, which he somehow thrives on. Trump is like leadership inverted. The louder that liberals whine, bitch and moan about him, the more people want to support him. Liberals just don't get that.
  24. It's the same problem. Two wrongs do not make a right.
  25. Trump approval rating hasn't budged in over a year, hanging at the 40% level. https://news.gallup.com/poll/203207/trump-job-approval-weekly.aspx Looks like that slow painful death is gonna be really slow...
