  1. I'm for Dwane Johnson, Taylor Swift, Kanye West, Snoop the Dawg, and Cher. Lots to choose from!
  2. You think young people can't be unfit, unhealthy, unhappy? "Young" in itself means nothing.
  3. Throughout the campaign whenever he claimed "Mexico is gonna pay", I always assumed it would be through a mechanism like this, economic trade. I have no idea if his claim about redeeming the cost through trade imbalance is true or economically sensible, but this is what the US president is saying. I never expected Mexicans to bring a wheelbarrow of cash to the White House.
  4. "The president is now arguing that Mexico will pay indirectly through increased trade and economic growth."
  5. Which means what exactly? That Mexico will bring a wheelbarrow full of cash to the White House?
  6. What's sexually attractive is fit, healthy, happy. Not young, not old.
  7. That would be a pity, as I enjoy reading your posts and I'm sure others do. If some posters bother you, don't engage them anymore. It just gives them another opportunity to reply, which would be fine if they had a good point to make. But, they don't.
  8. Yep, any day now. Real soon, real soon.
  9. It is what it is now. Politics has interfered and exacerbates the carbon problem. That movement is primarily led by leftist groups. So, it's back to fossil fuels and more greenhouse gas for a good while! But hey! I don't see a problem with the regulatory scheme. All allied countries comply with the rules and limits set out by the IAEA. Intelligent humans trying to stop climate change. Naa, waste of a bullet.
  10. Not a problem, if that helps make your day better, my little friend! I think I would view it as a foolish, naive, attempt to break free of the hypocrisy that is inherent in the system, although perhaps admirable in a stupid way. It would fail because other countries would not step up and do likewise. As we saw when Canada in the recent diplomatic spat with Saudis over the tweets. Sorry but you would lose that bet, my little friend! I know. Right here fella... Love you
  11. Are you guys both like, blind? I said basically the same thing you did. Maybe you missed that. Lack of reliable high power alternatives, but I said it in the context of energy security. While part of that includes economics (everything practically does, like you said) it also concerns other things in its consideration. Waiting for your reply on that @Michael Hardner
  12. "We fought ourselves, for the trolls, were in us."
  13. Just saw the same thing on the CBC TV news cycle this morning. They are mouthing off these same ideas on their opinion panels. The way it was worded/ portrayed was that there was not even a question that right's views on immigration are racist. That was never challenged. Instead they only discussed the dilemma this presents for the right among immigrant voters. You can see the insidious public opinion shaping these panels provide taking place, right there.
  14. Why are almost no nuclear reactors being built in the west? Why did Germany prematurely, and regrettably, shut down their nuclear power sources? What kind of energy do they buy now, to replace that loss? Who are these people.
  15. What is "Mexican Standoff".

      Yeah, pretty much.

  16. In fact, with this response the point has been made. Reasons themselves relate to competition among nations in the development and use of clean energy, but are off topic in this thread. 1. Well done. 2. Disagree The reason it needs to be done is that Chinese are building reactors 1-2-3 while we (the west) are not. We are falling behind in the energy race. Wind and solar are unable to provide the level of reliable power necessary to meet future needs. The technology is just not there yet. Nuclear is the only viable source of steady, high power that meets the low carbon target. We thus face an energy deficit that cannot be filled other than by using fossil fuel. Yes, politics exacerbates the problem of global warming. Humans cause it.
  17. Economics is not the only reason for the need to stay with fossil fuels.
  18. Argus, I don't see it as a big problem here. By your own admission, trolling is prevalent on the internet. All discussion forums suffer from trolling. The comments sections on news web sites are even worse. Perhaps the problem is that people actually LIKE reading and responding to trolls. In fact I cant think of a member here who doesn't at least occasionally commit "trolling". By that I mean write a provocative post directed towards forum members. Trolling is part of what almost every member does, thus some minor trolling is being allowed. The decision to clamp down and delete posts, or suspend a poster is thus a judgement call. Personally I think our moderator does alright, considering what he's got to work with.
  19. Why anyone would want to take them seriously is beyond me. But to those posters who actually engage them, AND get excited? Good on ya. Fill yer boots ETA: I feel in some cases it is the same troll, just in another incarnation. Likes to post a lot. Extreme inflammatory. Can be either left or right. Seems to want others to loathe him. Also has been to virtually every corner of the world, has seen and done many amazing things, to make them more likeable to their "side". A virtual forum Rakshasa.
  20. How is it a "win", unless one only defines these questions through the lens of partisanship? It is simply too crude a view. Or, it is interpreted far too crudely. Stop doing that. A more sensible question is, Why does Little Johnny still like fossil fuels? ====
  21. Not sure what planet you're on but the Chinese also have their 1%. That's practically everywhere in the world. In their case given the large population, many millions live in poverty. They toil in low paying jobs, minimal education, work at an early age. Even, child labour. And that, is your leftism in action. Real-world leftism looks like that, not what's written in your little theory book. The level of pollution they generate is appalling, as we got a glimpse of during the Beijing Olympics. There's your major source of greenhouse gases, fella. So don't come talking to me about paying your leftist taxes, while these people are billowing shit into the atmosphere ten thousand times more than us. Me too. And the corruption of left wing parties. Since it's clear we're not getting out of making deals with the Chinese, Saudis or otherwise malfeasant anytime soon, I prefer that one that just shuts up about it and gets on with the work. I have no need for empty virtue signalling. It does not make me feel better. The leftist liberal needs to feel better, to reconcile with their sense of personal guilt. Right wing conservatives do not need to feel better. We like ourselves just fine. I bet you'd really like this to descend into an all-out left versus right scrap, down in the dirt, complete with hair-pulling.
  22. My favourite episode is "Day of the Dove", in which the Enterprise is taken over by a bunch of Klingons. As with most of the original series episodes there is a deeper message about human nature. Day of the Dove can be watched here: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6mbu23
  23. Toxic smog reaches "emergency levels" in India. Canadians, get ready to pay a carbon tax.

  24. Doesn't look like it. Perhaps you are remembering something that never was. Having delusional memories are in fact a hallmark of the left... Nonsense. We just want to slow you down. It's really thanks to you people that we have global warming in the first place. Humans are not responsible for climate change, no. Not all humans. But actually, you people. What now, Asian Invasion in BC bugging you? Multi-Culti looking back at you the wrong way? Good.
