  1. I'm constantly being told Canada has no talent, we have to import it. Why would it be any different for our leadership? Hell, even Jr might be half Cuban...

  2. Voting requires a level of life experience and maturity that teenagers have not had the opportunity to acquire. I'm not certain people under 25 have either. Once you grant the vote, it is very difficult to go back if it is a mistake.

  3. Is the number of people who pay no tax changing ? If so, why might that be ? Imagine how you might want to describe a situation where, over time, a portion of the population sees their wages dwindle to the point where they can't pay taxes... and then the government decides they shouldn't vote. And then they start losing legal protections and losing services. It almost sounds like a slow descent into slavery to me. The problem with your framework is that you assume every individual is 100% control of their material success or failure. Government policy has nothing to do with it, nor do macro economic forces such as automation or global trade. Such an attitude towards economics, strikes me as similar to pre-reformation attitudes towards religion: rules and compliance is a problem for the little people. The aristocracy is above it, and can buy indulgences from the church. The modern equivalent is that the little person has to deal with automation, job outsourcing, and having their store replaced by a big box in the next town while the aristocracy buys favourable policy indulgences from the government in the form of laws that protect the wealth. You speak like someone who knows a lot about history but you have a giant blind spot

  4. Right now, regime change would mean war. The mullahs retain support among conservative, rural Iranians. An external attack on the country would force nearly everybody into the regime’s hands and put back any chance of meaningful change for decades.

  5. He was arguably a criminal 30 years ago. Is here any evidence he's sold drugs lately? And isn't the Ontario government about to get into the business of selling drugs for profit?

  6. Hey now One is not guilty until proven guilty. Kadr was no terrorist or criminal for that reason. So using that reasoning one cannot say such things about the Big D. Now one last thing. If he was a drug dealer (which no doubt he was) isn't it ironic if Wynne or any Liberal opens their mouth about the big D selling cannabis, they explain why they are all for legal sales of it. So it seems that topic is self-defeating for anyone trying to turn it into a moral righteous attack against Big D Yes it is kind of ironic they threw out Pat Brown with allegations of sexual immorality and then they put in someone who sold drugs illegally and enabled his bro's addiction, yah, true but I doubt anyone is gonna touch the hash issue for the reasons I said-it will blow up in their face given all 3 parties want dope sold in Ontario. As for his municipal politics role as a bully and enabler of his brother, I note the press has stayed away from it. Naively I thought his municipal role would have tainted him but he seems to be riding a get Wynne out wave that will pretty much put up with anyone other than the NDP and LIberal leaders.

  7. We have enough dumb, ignorant people voting. We don't need to expand that particular pool.

  10. I agree. Me more most of my friends had no use for politics in high school. Lowering the voting age means you are going to get even a bigger portion of voters that have no clue what is going on. I did not really start paying attention until I was 30 or so. Ideologies and views change over time. What I would have voted when I was 16 and what I would vote now (late 40s) are very very different.

  11. Good, because you obviously refuse to recognize past and present "human rights violations" in your own country. We now return you to the "Bash Israel" channel.

  12. Denying the past and present "human rights violations" for "aboriginals" in Canada (or USA) does not help your Palestinian cause against Israel....it only exposes your lack of objectivity, holding Israel to a different standard. I have already demonstrated that Canada's "aboriginals" have allied with Palestinians for decades against "occupation, incarceration, and stolen land". Hell, unlike Israel, Canadian provinces are still "scooping" aboriginal babies.

  13. It was said above that "Americans" are ignorant bigots. I find that view itself to be bigoted. P.S., only 46% of those who voted in 2016 voted for Donald Trump. But this thread isn't specifically about Donald Trump. There are plenty of those. You can be a decent person and still end up having a twat for a President.

  14. Isn't the NDP a slightly left-leaning party which means their voters are xenophiles therefore they don't mind if their leader is considered as a foreigner by the supporters of other parties?

  15. Yes....and has done so for over 150 years. Just read your own domestic media....no shortage of repeating human rights violations in Canada for "aboriginals". Trudeau will be apologizing for more very soon. ...but some choose to single out Israel instead.

  16. Bah. That's the least of my problems with Doug Ford. Blaming and attacking the media for reporting on seeing his brother's crack tape was far worse than selling people a product they want.

  17. You need to pay a little more attention to the Asian invasion. When Caucasian people become a minority in a Canadian city like Richmond, BC and people refuse to note the writing on the wall then they are the problem, not the Asians. Asians are the vast majority of all new immigrants immigrating to Canada. To see this all one has to do is go to a public school in Vancouver or Richmond and observe as to who is in the majority exiting school. There are racists in every race of people. Caucasian people are not going around and committing racist acts every day in Canada. This racist nonsense is all just bull being created by clueless liberals and their clueless MSM liberal media. Caucasians like me are not racists. We are pro-white patriotic nationalists, not racists. That is just lying liberal bs trying to shut our opinions and points of view down. The more they try the bigger we will get. When people are denied their right to their freedom of speech by the government then they will fight back.

  18. If Doug were a big hash dealer did he ever get arrested for dealing in hash? If he were that big of a hash dealer one would think that Doug would be on the radar of the police. Even some of those late night talk show hosts like John Daly attacked and mocked Doug's brother over drugs. That alone tells me that Doug did not deal in hash. Those liberal hosts will attack anybody who is not of their liberal ilk to try and destroy them. As far as I am concerned those accusations are all made up lies by the lying liberal fake media. The only pattern you and me are seeing here is the typical liberal pattern of going out there and trying to destroy all things conservative. Liberals are such deplorable people.

  19. The liberal media party CBC/CTV/Global will be hounding Doug to death just like they did with his brother. Wynne will get an easy pass. No hard questions will be asked of her.

  20. You cannot deny that he identifies primarily with India, else why would he meddle in India's politics? As for pandering, he panders to a group of Sikhs that advocate violence in pursuit of their goal of breaking off from India. It's really not that difficult to comprehend.

  22. The Queen is the embodiment of the state. All Canadians are her subjects and she cannot be her own subject. But she is not a foreigner. She does not hold a British passport. She travels on a passport she issues herself as Queen. More to the point she does not legislate, so there are no fears she will bring her 'foreign' agenda into play when making laws and policies for us.

  25. Thanks for that depressing analysis. Very cheery indeed. Let me play devil's advocate. Maybe Scheer recaptures 905 ridings in Ontario. Also maybe seats you think will go to Trudeau next election go NDP. That said if both happened Scheer could get a minority government. A lot depends on how bad the economy is doing in the next election. I can't help but think poor economic records in Alberta and Ontario may trigger enough of a concern to shy away from Trudeau but after seing Wyne get elected with her horrible record maybe you may be right. So I go with IPEI and say minority either way? Good God another 4 years of photo ops. Where's my medication I am getting an anxiety attack. I see visions of Justin and the French Prime Minister bursting into a G7 meeting wrestling like in the Borat movie while Frau Merkel and Mr. Donald wink at each other. I can't handle it. New world order. Yeck.

  26. I just can't picture why Trump would stick his neck out for a guy like Chris Christie. Christie brings this awful baggage with him, and doesn't bring any benefit to offset it. His approval numbers are roughly the same as Ebola, Boko Haram, and dealcoholized beer. -k
