Plus, Trudeau allowed the Chinese military to train here and he allowed Chinese military scientists to work on viruses at the NML in Winnipeg and freely transport them back to China, something that wouldn't be allowed to happen in the US. It's well-known that we don't have strict laws on that, like the US does and so China takes advantage of it. 2 Chinese military scientists were expelled from the NML and sent back to China right before covid and the Trudeau government refuses to say why. Many are tying the outbreak to this incident and there is quite a lot of circumstantial evidence that the covid virus started in Canada's NML lab and was transported to China. The Huawei thing was bigger than most people realize. All the other G7 countries banned Huawei long before Canada and the US warned Canada about allowing Huawei to set up here. I've noticed a chill between the US and Canada in the last few years. I believe Trudeau's bizarre friendship with the PRC is the cause of our issues with trade, etc with the US. That hurt us economically way more than the Freedom convoy did. And will continue to hurt us. Chinese interference in our elections (and Trudeau's lack of action on it) and allowing the Chinese police stations to continue on, is being noticed by the US, I'm sure.2 points

Yeash. It's getting to the point where we should stop referring to it as 'an election' and start calling it 'regime change". It is beyond terrible that Canadians can see this stuff, and from csis mind you not some conspiracy site, and not be furious. The fact that ANYONE will still vote liberal is shaming.2 points

A left wing hack tries to suggest Woke is centrist. Here are the FACTS. https://thepoliticalinsider.com/how-woke-left-wing-politics-may-be-leading-us-to-civil-war/ How ‘Woke’ Left-Wing Politics May Be Leading Us To Civil War It is, of course, but I undersold it. It’s much more than that and more dangerous. As Tal Bachman notes at Steynonline, it’s now our state religion, a state religion in a country that—constitutionally and for good reason—isn’t supposed to have one. But “Wokism” is yet more than that, too. It’s a mass psychosis similar to many that have arisen throughout history when the masses followed leaders who, in their zeal or self-interest, took them to disastrous ends. “Woke” gains adherents much in the manner of “est”—the cult-like Erhard Seminars Training—that I attended in the 1970s at the behest of a movie producer interested in making a film about it. (It never happened.) If you’re too in, you’re out. For est, several hundred people sat in a large conference room listening to the “training” for hours under instructions not to get up, even to go to the bathroom, until they raised their hands signaling they “got it” (i.e., effectively joined the cult). Nature’s calling being what it is, most eventually did. Although operationally similar, “woke” is exponentially more perilous than the now-defunct est training. Our position in society, our livelihoods, and our children’s educations and futures are being held over our heads, not our mere use of a restroom. An iron-fisted, ideologically extreme minority has our country under its thumb—play along or face ex-communication. This is stronger than anything in our history and almost identical to what we see and have seen in totalitarian countries. It’s a psychosis approaching mass hallucination. In Franco’s Spain, they shouted, “Viva la muerte!” (“Long live death!”) Here we are asked to proclaim just as loudly “Black Lives Matter,” to display signs saying as much on our lawns, although we never thought otherwise and always thought (naively, we are told) that all lives mattered. All key aspects, most parts of them anyway, of our society “get it” as they did in est (i.e., now believe in ”woke”) or, yet more ominously, cynically say they do—the media, the corporations (“Better woke than broke!”), the government bureaucracy, the Democratic Party, the Department of Justice, the FBI, the military (yikes!), entertainment, the university system, the K–12 system, the medical community, the scientific community (incredibly), the religious community (sadly), and on and on. All, to one extent or another, believe in “woke” except—the people. Most of the people anyway. Most of what used to be called the common men (or women) in the street roll their eyes at “woke”—including even some silent, but browbeaten, Democrats—and do their best to move on, although many realize that “woke” and its sister “social justice” are in essence euphemisms for an ideology far more totalitarian than any ever in control of this country, communism. Where did this bullshit come from? The history: https://www.vox.com/culture/21437879/stay-woke-wokeness-history-origin-evolution-controversy A history of “wokeness” Before 2014, the call to “stay woke” was, for many people, unheard of. The idea behind it was common within Black communities at that point — the notion that staying “woke” and alert to the deceptions of other people was a basic survival tactic. But in 2014, following the police killing of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, “stay woke” suddenly became the cautionary watchword of Black Lives Matter activists on the streets, used in a chilling and specific context: keeping watch for police brutality and unjust police tactics. In the six years since Brown’s death, “woke” has evolved into a single-word summation of leftist political ideology, centered on social justice politics and critical race theory. I'll bet you uneducated goose stepping left wing TROLLS here didn't even know that.1 point

This is controversial and it's probably too early to say why that is. The so-called "long covid" symptoms are also similar to those of a vaccine injury. However, good luck differentiating between the two in this politically charged environment. That's why I say it's too soon to believe the long covid. Need to ddo some studies. My guess, sounds like bulls shyte to me. I never heard of another respiratory virus having such effects. Coronavirus is not new either.1 point

Well thats what happens when you have a woke prime minister who allows unfettered immigration.1 point

I don't believe in vaccine mandates, unless you work with populations that are vulnerable to covid. The vaccines were cleared for emergency use because health care scientists believed the health benefits of getting these vaccines to people faster would outweigh the health risks. And they were right. The vaccines have saved a lot of lives, especially during the omicron wave last year. The stats are clear.1 point

Well the free trade agreement was worse, and it was trudeau who started off with the "score-points-with-the-left" shenannigans there. And he let Freeland publicly bad mouth trump pretty seriously before starting - which can't possibly help given how sensitive he is. So that probably did make things worse and without a doubt the deal is worse. Of course that was just one of his many trade gaffs. There was india - his little fashion show antics and inviting the guy who tried to kill their leader to dinner cost us what was a very lucrative trade arrangement. We'd spent years building up a large trade surplus with them starting with harper and in a month or so after his visit that had all gone bye bye. And of course there's the pissing off of Saudi arabia which reduced trade with them But at least the weren't a MAJOR partner. So - he didn't just "not help". He did make things worse. And not with just the US.1 point

True. You goose steppers aren't worth it. There are some conservatives who are still steaming over the Biden theft of the presidency, not to mention the DAMAGE that racist pedophile has done to our economy. I've gotten to the point where I don't even watch FoxNews on TV any more. I'll got to the website every couple of days for the facts, but the rest of the time politics is out of my life. Sometimes I come here just to remind myself of how STUPID the left can be. But for most of the time, I enjoy Florida's beautiful weather, expanding economy and superior public schools.1 point

That is the LAST thing we need. I posted on another thread the other day how we would start seeing calls for this and why it would be a disaster. The problem exists because the gov'ts have over interfered with the natural market forces and at this point things are in such a way that not only is it seriously against the developer's interests to build housing in advance of need (which is what we want, houses in place before people show up so we have a small surplus) but also the bureaucracy will not let them build enough even if it was worth it. What we need is strong leadership pulling the provinces and the feds togethter and treating htis like a crisis and imposing the necessary changes together. THere are many, this isn't a simple thing, and they all need to be addressed to fix this. Building gov't 'affordable' homes will make the problem much worse. Sure gov'ts can still build a few places like that for the very poor but there is no way they can build enough to solve this problem or come close and trying to will actually reduce the market's effort to build so you'll just be worse off. We are 1 million homes short of where we need to be in order for housing prices to stabilize and become more affordable. And we're still not building enough - so we need to increase what we're building AND THEN add 1 million units. That is NOT going to happen with gov'ts building "affordable" housing.1 point

Washington leads NATO, the allies are doing as Washington leads them to do 100 tanks is only two regiments to defeat the Russians outright, the Ukrainians would need thousands of armoured vehicles offensive operations require 3 to 1 numerical advantage at minimum so 100 NATO tanks is only enough to engage 33 Russian tanks offensively to conduct a large scale offensive, to breach the Russian lines and encircle them that would require an armoured corps of three divisions, 1000 tanks with 1000 AFV's so if they are building up, they are doing it extremely slowly the Ukrainians can't fight forever, they would need to win relatively soon so it is obvious that Washington is not building them up for a win, but rather an armistice the mission here is simply to prevent Russia from winning it's not actually in NATO's interests for Ukraine to go on the offensive the Ukrainians want to take it all back thermonuclear war has a logic unto itself : he who strikes first wins so if you start to approach that event horizon, it becomes like a gravity well dragging you down towards an exchange but if there is a sustained attack on the Russian navy at Crimea, that's the brink of World War Three this is a similar situation to the Korean War in that you can only go so far before things would escalate into a global conflagration if the Russian navy is threatened, that will force the Russians to use their navy if Russian submarines start sinking ships delivering war stores to Ukraine that would spin out of control very quickly Washington cannot guess what the Russians might do Washington has to operate by what the Russians are capable of doing because you could indeed start a thermonuclear war, simply by miscalculation in the end Washington has a tried & true Cold War strategy instituted by George Kennan it's called Containment so the objective here is to stop the Russians, while containing the war to the Donbass force a stalemate, force an armistice, war of attrition until both sides come to the negotiating table because if it becomes a manoeuvre war, that can escalate to the high seas and once things escalate to the seas, that becomes a global war, inherently that's how the Cuban Missile Crisis happened the situation in Cuba escalated into a naval blockade at which point you are manoeuvring with submarines and thermonuclear weapons unlike a land war, a naval war is binary : shoot or no shoot then it just takes one torpedo to start World War Three submarine captains are charged with defending their ships so if somebody floods tubes, opens bow caps, and engages active sonar that is point blank for Armageddon thermonuclear war has a logic unto itself : he who strikes first wins so if you start to approach that event horizon, it becomes like a gravity well dragging you down towards an inevitable exchange this is what John Kennedy realized the further it went, the more it accelerated, events started to overtake him it was rapidly reaching the point where he was losing control where he couldn't stop the war if he tried1 point

I suppose if you don't have an intelligent argument then lying and buzzwords is always an option You very literally did. You said you have no right to that property. I and others pointed out you do - the federal gov't cannot deny you ownership of a thing without lawful excuse. You cried to the heavens NOOOOOO NOOOOOTTT TRUEEEEE now it's like 'oh yeah, everyone knows that' LOL - tell me you haven't got a clue without telling me Now - as to arbitrary removal of property, you're actually wrong there as well. The feds can arbitrarily take your lawful property at any time provided they first pass a law. That's what the charter of rights says. They can literally say "as of today, treebeard's house and stash of inappropriate anime and dope belongs to the gov't. Poof!" And you no longer own it. So in fact they can take literally anything they want from anyone if they follow the procedure and can do so arbitrarily. The gov't is not really beholden to your rights. They can make it illegal for you to practice your religion, they can make it illegal for you to be married, they can do whatever they like. So 'rights' in Canada are a little bit more fluid than some other places. iF you doubt that - ask the japanese about it.1 point

There are a lot of people out there who have been psychologically traumatized by 3 years of fear-mongering and I think they likely will never be normal again. They can't let go of masking, they want more lockdowns no matter the continued economic devastation, they want more restrictions, they want more censorship, they don't think the government went far enough in coercing people - losing jobs and careers wasn't enough for them. I've asked here many times - what more do they want - and gotten no reply. I think they don't want to speak the words out loud, but I believe they want jailings, detention camps and possible firing squads, since they equate not masking to murder. There was only one study on masking during covid put out by the CDC, in response to them not doing any studies, so they hurriedly put one together in Kentucky. Of course, showing masks stopped the spread. That study was widely debunked almost the second it came out and no one even cites it anymore. For people who have been psychologically damaged by the extreme fear pumped out relentlessly for years - there is no science, no studies, no data that will convince them that masks are useless, the lockdowns damaged society and the economy and stopped nothing, the restrictions were bizarre and non-sensical......like I say - there are some people who will never be normal mentally again. And you're trying to convince them. You can't. They're mentally damaged.1 point

The Vox author goes on to.... give the unqualified opinion of a person whose main qualification is her leftist opinion. Au contraire, mon frere, that study does not appear to be faulty. It was done by a team of epidemiologists from Cochrane, and the only critique of it that you provided is the unsubstantiated opinion of a single journalist. Cite required. FYI that part was just stupid. The fact that there are 72 other studies included doesn't minimize the reliability of the study in any way, nor does it prove that it didn't really have much to do with covid. 6 of those studies had everything to do with covid. What reason did she have for saying those 6 studies were insignificant? None. Again, it was not a thing more than just her own unqualified, unsubstantiated opinion. I chose to provide a link to information about masking during covid. IMO most almost all covid rules were arbitrary and stupid, like for example preventing healthy citizens of this country from walking outside in BC's provincial parks, just a week after people were allowed to fly in from Wuhan and go anywhere in any public building they wanted. If you'd like to post some research that showed masking was effective, why don't you do that?1 point

Well we are dangerously close to something very bad that's true. High immigration beyond our ability to integrate people and which tends to be pushed into tight communities, no housing for anyone to live in, poor medical access, severe inflation driving prices up to the point where it's hard to get food... that's a recipe for disaster.
