  1. Fox News Sets a New Record The skill sets required to continuously invent conspiracy theories at Fox News is truly amazing. Their mastery of high-volume right-wing echo chamber orchestration is known, if not admired, world-wide. Not only are they creative, but have set a new speed record for the very difficult “180 flip.” It can now only to be measured in nanoseconds. For weeks and weeks, the multi-millionaire talking heads at Fox News have waxed eloquent 24 hours a day about how Biden and the Democrats are protecting Sam Bankman-Fried, the failed founder of FTX, a digital coin scam. 7x24, Fox News has described ad nauseum a myriad of “facts” proving Democrats are “protecting Sam from prosecution because his is a big contributor to Democrats. Their major theme is “if you are a big contributor to Democrats, they will protect you from prosecution for your crimes.” i.e. Democrats are criminally corrupt… Then old Sam was arrested and charged with 8 felonies associated with his crimes. Before the ink was even dry on the arrest warrants, the “Spin Masters” at Fox News announced that “new facts” prove Sam was only arrested to prevent him from “talking.” Implying, Sam was going say something ugly about Democrats…. So, as usual, speaking to their worshiping viewer base, Fox News was able to go from “The facts are that Democrats are protecting Sam and will never arrest him” to “The Facts are Democrats are only arresting Sam to keep him from talking….” “And this time we mean it….” At Fox News, “facts” disappear faster than an Ethiopian chicken. Of course, the Fox Bull Horn failed to cover the “news” that old Sam contributed about as much to Republican PACS and down dark money Republican rat holes as he gave to Democrats. But you will have to actually go to a real new source to get “Fair and Balanced” coverage without an Echo. (evil Democrats) Echo. (evil democrats) Echo. Ditto.

  2. In case you've not heard, Trump's recent "big announcement" was his launching of his offer to sell you NFT digital art featuring his (very loose) likeness in various "hero" poses. AKA how he imagines himself. Now's your chance to fill his coffers. How many will you buy?

  3. I seem to hear this phrase a lot, and it seems to apply most often to institutions being run by the most painfully liberal people in Canada. You know, places like galleries and museums, theater companies and university campuses. They're constantly confessing or being accused of supporting white supremacy. I mean, to hear them talk every university campus in Canada has been rife with white supremacy, racism and "oppression" for decades now. It appears that the only way to get rid of racism, oppression and white supremacy is to lock up all the liberals. https://ottawacitizen.com/news/local-news/chair-of-national-gallery-of-canadas-board-of-trustees-defends-journey-of-transformation-following-controversial-staff-dismissals https://www.uwindsor.ca/antiblackracism/ https://humanrights.ca/sites/prod/files/2020-08/A-FullReport_EN.pdf https://president.ubc.ca/homepage-feature/2020/06/01/together-against-racism/ https://www.westernstandard.news/news/toronto-university-engages-in-segregation-by-creating-black-students-space/article_a9269928-74bf-11ed-90b5-cba1b047dbb9.html https://vancouversun.com/news/local-news/royal-bc-museum-closing-3rd-floor-for-decolonization-effort

  4. Your media sources are lying to you. Congress CANNOT make a decision to indict Trump. The best they can do is make a referral to the DoJ which has SOLE authority to indict.

  7. The coverage of the mid-terms that I saw included two examples of FOX News on-camera personnel referring to the Republicans as "we", as in "what do we need to do to win" Everybody knew that the MSM had a liberal/corporate lean... and that led the way for "fair and balanced" Orwellian news. And now even worse, people post material from offshore propaganda mills and screetch like treed weasels if you try to decry their basement YouTube sources as being 'biased'.

  8. Yeah I'm not really seeing what the problem is with this thought process. The corruption in government (greased palms, lobbying, cushy jobs after political retirement) goes well beyond what we know. Transparency would be welcome. This I found truly pathetic. I can't see any reason why this woman keeps her post, considering the glaring and obvious nature of the offense and the official censure. Bev Oda lost her cabinet position over an expensive glass of orange juice she expensed back in 2012, but this warrants nothing but a gentle admonishment? Agreed, but this has been an ongoing farce. After the sponsorship scandal, Harper promised transparency and created the PBO etc, but then ended up muzzling all of his MP's, spoke rarely to media and feuded with the PBO when they weren't singing his praises. Justin seems to be carrying on this fine tradition.

  9. Just want to clarify a small thing. The service was to a communications company. The MP's office required the service so they went to the "standing offer" I mentioned earlier. they went with requirements to Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) with the requirements. PSPC then went to the stranding offer and put it out to any company that wanted to bid. The evaluation was done by PSPC and several companies may have qualified. the lowest bid would be presented to the MP's office. Then the contract awarded. Yes, if there was any connection to the MP, the MP should have disclosed affiliation. Most likely, the MP was not aware and the minions in the office (my biggest PIA while in procurement) would have just moved forward. Not defending, just explaining what might have happened. The MP may not have even known who the contract was with until much later. As for MP consequences, well, they are more severe than the normal business for person because as an individual, you generally pick and choose who you want to deal with.

  10. My understanding is that it was not millions of dollars. It was $28,000, but the amount doesn't matter. It is the principle of ministerial responsibility. She should have resigned from cabinet. If the Socreds could not beat the Grits with Mr. O'Toole, I cannot see them winning a majority with Mr. Poilievre. The current leader is firmly in the reform / Socialist Credit camp. His ads are slick and entertaining but so far, I haven't seen any bridge building with the other parties. Are BQ or NDP supporters willing to work with him? He is good at saying there is an issue in healthcare, (no s**t Sherlock), but I never hear him say how much more money he will invest in it, or where he will get the money. His campaign against the measures that would help alleviate the pressures on the system are making the problem worse. He seems to be saying these are the problems, but I won't tell you, the voters, how he plans to solve them. "Trust me." Where have we heard that before? If Mr. Poilievre wants to have any hope of beating Prime Minister Trudeau, he has to start eating the Liberals' lunch.

  11. Sure, there's not a systemic problem. Just millions of individual acts of discrimination. No big deal! lol Ah, I see that you are as honest as you are informed. I thought about it for a moment before the giggles overcame me. No, I think it comes down to a self-interested a lack of empathy. You can listen to Black Americans, you can look at the data, and happily dismiss both the qualitative and quantitative evidence of unfairness. Most of you simply aren't interested in fairness or a level playing field, and view the erosion of privilege as an attack. You seriously think systemic racism is a new buzzword? Jeebus, you're either VERY young or willfully ignorant on the subject. It's been a hot topic since at least the 70s and has been a primary lens through which researchers and academics have evaluated racism for decades. I used to do guest lectures at a magnet school in South Central LA. Best school in the area by a longshot, best and brightest kids from the most proactive families who fight for spots--nearly all Black. Nothing wrong with the kids aside from an oppressive cycle of poverty. And still, even in this best case scenario, I'd show up in a classroom and find kids standing against a back wall. They didn't have enough desks or books, so they had to take turns. It's farked up. I can't imagine what conditions were like in the "bad" schools in the area. Sure, let's set up a model in which schools are funded by local taxes, then disproportionately exclude Blacks from better jobs and neighborhoods, locking kids into poorly funded, poor-performing schools and then complain that kids want to leave those schools early. You are chock full of empathy! And you know what happens when Black families do accumulate enough wealth to start moving into neighborhoods with better schools? The White people flee and take their tax dollars with them. The whole thing is a very ugly cycle, and it simply isn't going to fix itself. Have a really lovely time patting yourself on the back for your "enlightened" disinterest in all that tacky color conscious policymaking. It's not your problem after all. Let future generations of Black children chip away at it on their own.

  13. But African Americans make up only 14% of the population. But let’s look at the source of the article’s data. Is it valid? They cite the “Crime Prevention Research Center”, a “think tank” whose board of directors is lead by Ted Nugent and Sheriff Dave Clark. The Sheriff is known for calling for the overthrow of the US government to stop the advancement of gay rights. Real winner. It’s difficult to accept their statistics at face value without more details. Data usually come from public records, not gun-slinging ex-rock stars with a stated biased agenda.

  15. To what degree the distance between them is, todays polls are not going to accurately determine that, the fact is there is a huge gap and it is growing steadily thanks to liberal gaffs almost weekly now. As for NDP numbers i think they are going to take a huge hit a lot of NDP voters are not happy with the coalition, I think they will actually lose seats next election. Not sure what you percentage of votes you need for a majority but it can't be far off. I think PP raise in numbers are becasue he continues to hit the right topics Canadians care about, inflation, prices of food, fuel, basically everything, housing availability and affordability, Health care, he has already spelled out policies in these areas. And I'm sure he has more detailed plans cooked up for election time and if he does not then Justin deserves another term. Of course the liberals are going to try everything to stop the conservatives, and a good chunk of liberal voters will buy into all of that, but these are votes that were never going to be conservative any ways. And come on the last 2 conservative candidates gave Justin the election on a platter, with a huge ribbon tied around it. It was if Justin paid them to screw things up. Yes PP has made some Gaffs, Justin makes a career out making Gaffs and liberals eat that shit up. People want change, and thats what is going to drive this election, and it would not surprise me if the cons win big. It is time for the right to swing things back towards the center once again.

  16. In effect it has been cut. Federal increases in health care transfers were limited to 3% or nominal growth in the economy. That doesn't take into consideration increased costs due to an aging population, more expensive technologies, new more expensive treatments and many other factors. All of those increased costs have fallen on the provinces alone.

  17. It's not a little insult. Nor is it subtle. I just honestly believe you are a profoundly stupid person. ^^Look at that post. Despite multiple explanations over multiple threads, you still have no idea what white privilege is. It's like the information just bounces off of you. For sake of illustration, it would be equally stupid if you said that racism wasn't real, just point to a single law that proves racism. Which is to say, very, very stupid.

  18. I disagree. Twitter had plenty of free speech of all sorts, but they realized they’d been played in 2016, and they didn’t want it to happen again. Let’s distinguish some things: Conservative THOUGHT AND SPEECH has never been banned by Twitter. Not one iota. What they banned was dirt: Deliberate falsehoods and unverified claims, which exploded with regard to Covid. People were allowed to say that they didn’t want to get vaccinated, or wear masks.. and people did that every day. But making false or unproven claims about vaccine safety crossed the line. You could still say, “I do not want to take the vaccine because I don’t think it’s safe,” but not, “I know the vaccine is unsafe.” “I know the vaccine is unsafe” is not political speech, it is simply lying, unless you have actual evidence. But, frankly, the crazies still get a lot of latitude. Trump didn’t get banned for blatant TOS violations and it was only after trying to overthrow the government that he was justifiably banned.

  19. Seriously? I have to "prove" that Black Americans have been and continue to be treated unfairly? That's really an open question for you? I've linked to multiple studies in this thread- among hundreds on the subject -but those will be hand-waved away, I'm sure. Because honestly, if people aren't already aware of the unfair treatment it's not because of a lack of research. That's not the barrier. Perhaps obliviousness? Naivete? Willful ignorance? At any rate, it rather neatly proves my point about empathy. It's downright sociopathic to stand in the midst of a throng crying- and crying out -about mistreatment and not take that shared experience even a little to heart. I'd place a bet that you could name literally any aspect of society, from access to jobs, housing, food, education, justice--whatever--and it'll take about 30 seconds to find the studies identifying the systemic racism at work. Wanna play that game? Try a few for yourself. Take a look at the data and tell me that if you were to be reborn tomorrow, with no control over your circumstance save the choice of "race," that you would choose to be reborn as anything other than white. It's not even a close contest. The social advantages are built into the skin color, bestowed by accident of birth.

  22. That's some powerfully circular logic, lol. Also, you can't be serious with that source. Should go without saying, but all of that arrest, conviction and sentencing is disproportionate even when controlling for variables. This is not new or controversial. Common knowledge, dozens-- maybe hundreds-- of studies over the last 50 years. But just to streamline it for you, look at sentencing alone. An analysis found black men’s sentences are 19.1 percent longer than white men’s, even after controlling for criminal history and other factors. Again, there are TONS of studies on this subject and they all find the exact same thing: justice is not blind. Hell, some of the discrimination is plainly built in, with higher mandatory minimums for crack cocaine than powdered cocaine. Well, the solution is pretty obvious, no? If discrimination retarded the progress of generations by deliberately excluding people from good jobs, neighborhoods and schools we can reverse some of the disparity by deliberately including those affected in good jobs, neighborhoods and schools. Forever and ever, including through today, whites have had the advantage of the benefit of the doubt--to the detriment of others. That's something we can change.

  23. And yet, because of their response, 60000 Canadians are alive today that would not have been if the politicians of all parties and levels of government had not joined in common cause to mitigate the effects of Covid 19. Premier Ford and Minister Freeland -BFF's. And we have an effective NAFTA for the same reason. The politicians from all parties and experts worked to save the NAFTA treaty. It was a group effort.

  26. The left of which you are clearly a radical member caused most of our inflation: irresponsible overspending, carbon taxes, over-regulation of oil and gas, Biden’s cancellation of Keystone, Trudeau’s new regulations that allowed BC’s communist-green radicals to block energy and resource development through endless consultation… Your side has driven up the cost of living beyond the reach of the workers you pretend to support. It’s just fake green-woke rhetoric and bad policies that won’t fight climate change but will destroy people’s finances, opportunities, and energy security. Under the NDP-Liberals Canada is just a resettlement site run by international puppet-masters where the quality of life is lower and the cost of living is higher than it was several years ago. Alberta is wise to protect its interests against this irresponsible federal government.

  27. This is Canada, son. Wake up. Apparently, in Canada, the places which are calling THEMSELVES racist and oppressors are all the institutions we've entrusted to liberals! What am I to take from this but that liberals are racist and white supremacists?!
