  1. Gee, wouldn't this be a good time to prorogue parliament so he doesn't have to answer any questions about all this? Yes, apparently it's the perfect time to prorogue parliament. See ya! Sorry, no questions, no questions! Just take a few pictures of my sexy hair. You won't be seeing it for a while.

  2. Exactly. She's the good soldier. No finance experience, so he can ram through whatever he wants. Disagree with the guy & you're out & yes-men put in. Morneau, JWR. In the US, Congress controls spending, not the POTUS, and you can have the opposite party of the POTUS with control of the House and/or Senate. In Canada, the PM is the leader of the legislature, is an MP and can vote, tells his party how to vote, sets Cabinet, selects Senators, selects the GG, and selects Supreme Court justices.

  3. None of these are 'good' (or necessarily bad). They are, even if one agrees with them, and I don't, descriptors of behaviour as opposed to values. I was thinking more of good character traits like kind, generous, sincere, brave, honest, loyal, fair, tolerant, patient, compassionate, modest, reliable, self-disciplined, considerate, responsible... etc. I know none of those can be used for Trump, but is there anything else I haven't thought of? Is there even one single character trait which could lead anyone to think he might be a good man?

  4. I'm wondering how a degree in Russian history and literature qualifies you to be finance minister. Freeland has no previous financial experience. On the CBC this morning it was suggested that appointing her shows Trudeau figures he doesn't really need a finance minister anyway. His staff will work with senior people at Finance while she is a mere figurehead. It was also suggested the leaks the PMO orchestrated over the past week was a lesson to other ministers that they should never disagree with Trudeau, even privately, even where they accede to his wishes without further complaint. Else every instance will be duly recorded and then used to justify firing you. Trudeau wants nothing but yes-men in his cabinet. Or does anyone really imagine this was Morneau's idea?

This is what actual proof looks like.

  6. Has the deck of cards begun to fall apart, Bill Morneau the latest casualty in the Trudeau cabinet. the Media is quoting Moreau has different views such as not driving up the deficit, and Justin is only worried about jacking it as high as he can get it....with Morneau gone watch spending increase radically. Welcome to WHO is next in the liberal party to be kicked off the island.....this week it's Morneau who failed to play the spending game....unless we are talking about vacations.....stay tuned to next week https://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/canada/bill-morneau-to-resign-as-finance-minister-mp-following-breakdown-in-relations-with-trudeau-over-covid-policy-we-scandal/ar-BB184vGC?ocid=msedgntp

  7. In a perfect world one would hope the minister would have a back ground in their given ministries....but that has rarely happens, it think what is more important would have strong back ground in management, strong leadership abilities, excellent listener, excellent problem solving skills, and many more... I think where back ground comes into play should be the civil service, those people directly under the minister . These are where our experts should be, in advisory positions...

  8. Yes it is open to all Canadians, but access to large sums of money and the ability to raise large sums of money, is what weeds out most Canadians, .... thats the major qualifier being a wealthy Canadian with lots of rich friends... Come on the sock thing is real and is documented in all forms of the media, in fact even by other leaders across the globe...you can't take away the sock thing...leave us something...

  9. He taught other subjects in addition to drama, as teachers do. The way people speak scornfully of Trudeau's previous career makes me wonder - are teachers automatically disqualifed from political office? Are there other professions that automatically disqualify people from having a political career, including being Prime Minister? Because if so, we should be getting the word out, instead of pretending that political office in Canada is open to all citizens if they wish. Some people do. Publically, he left to pursue other opportunities. But Snopes seems to have done some resesrch and came to the conclusion that there was a disagreement regarding a student newspaper that precipitated Trudeau's departure. Yes, gossip. But hey, if you have nothing real - gossip will do right? I voted for Trudeau the first time, and would not do so again because of his well-documented performance in his current job. I don't need gossip or even to scorn his teaching career to form my opinion of him. And I intend on looking at the Conservative leader in the same way, when he/she is elected, to see if I'll vote Conservative or continue my NDP protest vote. That means rumors, innuendo, gossip and petty criticisms (hair, socks, blah blah) are unacceptable If its not documented in a credible way, it means nothing. And yes, the above is an indictment of anyone whose partisanship allows them to accept BS against the other guy or for their preferred guy.

  11. What else is on his work resume besides teacher? He acted in a mini-series for CBC in 2007. He attended engineering school for a couple of years but dropped out, and has an undergrad degree in literature. He has no qualifications to be an MP, cabinet minister, or PM besides his last name. Pierre was a lawyer, Mulroney was a lawyer, Chretien was a lawyer, Paul Martin was a lawyer. These things come in handy when you're proposing, drafting, interpreting, and implementing laws. Harper had a masters in economics. Pearson had a masters in history from Oxford University and taught it in university, had a career in the public service & as a diplomat, and had a hand in founding the UN and NATO and almost became the 1st Secretary General of the UN before being PM. Justin's dad is Pierre.

  12. I really don't get why you guys are trying to put sexual morality on the table, unless it's because you've realized no Republican supporter has any sense of morals so wouldn't care about their adulterer in chief and think the Democrats will care about their previous to previous leader? Trump was also Epstien's pal, and given the morals this man has both demonstrated and spoken of if you imagine he'd have turned down a shapely teenage girl you've really swallowed too much kool-aid. I mean, this is a guy noted for barging unannounced into the dressing rooms for the girls at the Miss Teen USA pageant as well as the Miss American pageant because as pageant owner no one could keep him out. He was and is an unprincipled lech, adulterer and whoremonger who was paying a porn star for sex while his current wife was still recuperating from giving birth And oh, by the way, one of the women accusing him says he raped her when she was 13 at a private sex party. But let's not talk about that. It's not something a devoted Trump supporter would care about anyway.

  13. Its not that I'm any more impressed with Trudeau than you are, but he was more than a Drama teacher and I can find no evidence of him ever being fired from any teaching job. If you need to use falsehoods to discredit him, perhaps you haven't looked very hard at his record, as that in itself should be enough. Spreading misinformation is not really helpful to our political process or to having an informed vote.

  15. This definitely worries me. I think Freeland is a smart woman and could do a decent job as PM even, but I don't see how she's appropriate for the Finance Minister's position. Trudeau seems to use her as his omni-tool. He knows she's popular and puts her in visible places to put out his fires. Unfortunately, Trudeau seems to have a very poor grasp of economics (like his father) and from what I've read he and Morneau (someone who does know finance/economics) were really clashing on a number of plans moving forward. With a historical deficit, Trudeau apparently was intent on going full-steam ahead on environmental spending whereas Morneau felt finances were in crisis and we weren't in a position to do much for the time being. I've never felt that Trudeau was particularly intelligent or that he has good judgment, but my hope was that he'd surround himself with smart people and listen to them. Until now, that seems to have been the case, but as he continues to turf ministers and get caught in petty ethics scandals, it's getting harder and harder to trust him.

  18. Its kinda useless to talk about Canada china relations....Canada will just follow what the US does......If Trump wins the election which is looking more likely by the day to me... decoupling with China will continue.....China does not honour contracts....They have consistently lied to all US presidents for at least 20 years. They have not honoured the Hong Kong contract. They promised not to militarize the south China sea. In the end china's greediness on the Trade front could end up hurting them badly...They probably hold too much US denominated debt and if the US dollar devalues their holding will devalue its like making a bad investment.....They should have diversified better...... The Us dollar has been weakening lately...time will tell if this is a blip or a trend.......Get ready for a very volatile financial world

  19. Pretty serious, that guy should go to jail. The whole Russian investigation was necessary, but it turned out to be a joke. Trump is no perfect POTUS by any means, but there's never been a modern POTUS so targeted by the establishment and the media in such a ferocious effort to take him down, and there's also never been a modern POTUS so outside the establishment and outside the influence of the corporate lobbying regime. Coincidence? I've never seen the media do such an unethical job covering a POTUS, the outright lies and cherry-picking and spin. He goes against the grain and the entire establishment, even Republicans, freak out. The neo-cons in the GOP hate him, because he's not an expansionist war-monger, rather he actually wants other countries to do & pay their share. Doesn't mean Trump isn't influenced by some corporate interests, mainly his and his friends, but he's the first president in many, many decades who isn't wholly bought off by their crooked lobbying, and actually works in the interests of what he (sometimes wrongly) believes in the the US's best interests instead of corporate America's. It's too bad he's such a arrogant and ignorant douche so much of the time.

  20. Federal crimes were committed in order to keep spying on Trump and members of his campaign. It’s police state tactics. I don’t know how anyone can defend this behaviour.

Yes , because thats what the government wants the gravy train to stop, just to teach us to stand up on our own, What makes you think Canadians actually give a rats ass about what the politicians do...They don't..... we keep putting in the same bunch of losers and we are shocked we get the same results....

  22. when was the last time the people stood up to the government in an insurrection, 1838 maybe, todays Canadians don't have the balls to stand up for themselves, let alone hold a government accountable...

  23. Canada just basically deferred the pain. Economic pain now or economic pain later paying back the debt (with interest). People have to eat, but the full economic effects of this won't be felt for a long time. No matter what we do, this pandemic is an economic disaster.

  24. What seems to be missing from your twisted logic is any importance being placed on the people who will have to PAY all of that money and the interest bills that go with it.
