  1. I guess that's why they said assault "style" weapons, to get rid of the wannabe lookalikes. Makes sense to me. That's a testosterone binge itself for the "yahoos" spoiling for a fight for the rights of the far right and spitting mad with isolation anxiety. That's an immediate problem. And the increasing trendiness of assault "style" wannabe rifles is a problem in itself. If it looks like one, now you can be charged as if it is one? Just like replica handgun gets you an armed robbery charge. Makes sense to me.

  2. "Nothing" is the appropriate answer. The Liberals might have a minority but the Left has a majority. The other parties would be thrilled to ban any and all firearms in Canada, and would do so with a great sense of glee and without regard to the cost or effectiveness. The Liberals have done this now because with a 250 billion dollar deficit, eh, what's another billion or so? Also, with no house of commons they won't face daily questions from the Tories revealing just how useless this move would be. Trying to explain why Rifle A is banned while Rifle B is okay, when they do and perform exactly the same way, can be uncomfortable. They certainly don't want to have to admit the ban is based purely on how macho the gun looks. Nor do they want the Tories pointing out multiple times every question period that almost all gun crime is done with illegal firearms and that they are doing nothing about that.

  3. So the Trudeau government is set to ban a bunch of macho-looking rifles in Canada, even though they really don't do anything a lot of other rifles do, and even though everyone involved in policing recognizes that almost all illegal firearms come across the US border anyway. The cost will be $250 billion up front and another $150 million a year for for years. But we all know it will be a lot higher. It always is. And the reason for this billion dollars is not really a reduction in crime or the illegal use of firearms, it's to buy popularity for the Liberal party among urban progressives who know nothing about firearms except they don't like them. The government is exploiting the Nova Scotia tragedy for crass political gain despite the fact the killer had no license and used illegal weapons which can be easily obtained because the government refuses to do anything about weapons smuggling, or the illegal sale, purchase or ownership of firearms. Remember this government passed more gun control legislation in 2018 and still hasn't' implemented it because the point was to be seen to be passing the legislation. They know the legislation won't do a thing anyway, but they got the good publicity for passing it, which is all this style over substance government ever cares about. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/politics/article-ottawas-gun-ban-to-target-ar-15-and-the-weapon-used-during/#comments

  4. Yes. The party of USA, hatred, has started up their nonsense on Capitol Hill just like we all knew they would. This is that final proof, that the Dem party needs to banned from the USA:

  5. Everything China has exhibited to the world shows it as being far more vicious and brutal to its own people than the US has ever dreamed of doing. Further, while the US once threw its weight around more freely throughout the world, particularly in the third world, they were restrained by a free press and democratic values. Their actions abroad were subject to being reported back home, making the voters unhappy and giving ammunition to the other party. China faces no such restraint. It has total control over its media and no opposition politicians. It can threaten, bully and overthrow local governments all its wants without hesitation. Which is probably part of the reason why they're building a bunch of aircraft carriers, to project their military strength abroad. It is already bribing government leaders into signing on for government loans which can't be paid back, then seizing ports and airports in those countries as recompense. And a government willing to roll tanks over its own students is not going to be the least bit restrained in doing it to other nations and their people.

  6. Even with our sharing the border with the US, our GUN violence by legally owned wpns is less than any country in Europe's.. which means all a ban will do is drive ownership of these wpns under ground like any other ban this county has tried....23 deaths in 30 years thats less than 1 per year...with over 100,000 of these firearms in the country...amazing

  7. Well some of us have real life experience. Like I could tell you stories about the Eastern European bloc how my grandma used to get up in the morning and wait 2 hours in line to get 1 egg. Milk was gourmet food. All because we have to show those capitalistic countries that we have no debt! Oh sure, that is just a dictatorship you will say, but if you read some history and have the ability to do critical thinking you will realize it all starts with the same garbage: "equality, everyone together to sing kumbaya". And regarding the healthcare my grandma put it well: "Healthcare was free then, yes, but when your number 1 concern was to not starve do you think I had time to get sick" ? The road to hell is paved with good intentions, who would not want in theory for everyone to be equal, but in a practical term humans beings are unique, different, some are lazy some are hard workers, some have ideas that provide the work. Sure there are problems in capitalism, companies are becoming more monopolistic but please stop with the workers of the world unite. The definition of insanity is to try the same thing all over again and to expect different results. I am sure you will do it differently this time and you will show those capitalistic pigs how is done. Not sure which system created more victims: communism or fanatical religion, both examples of systems in which people lose their rational thinking.

  9. I’m directly saying that Canada doesn’t want to bring in people who want to extract benefits without investing in the society here. It’s not just about business or money either. Caring about and respecting the people here is essential for social cohesion. If you don’t like many cultural features of the country, it’s important not to come here, as our citizens shouldn’t share their wealth and safety net, paid for by their work, with people who disdain the culture, obviously. I would also be careful about shaming the way women live here. Women have fought hard for their rights, not just to vote or hold positions of power, but to dress and express themselves how they wish. They’re not giving that up for you, thankfully. I also hope that you apply the same standards for modesty and respect to your own gender as women.

  11. It is not THEIR culture, it is OUR culture that should stand as what dominates in this country. If you come here and don't like it here, for crying out loud, WHY ARE YOU HERE???? GTF out to where you feel welcome and comfortable, don't expect us (except of course for the virtue signalling Liberal/liberals among us) to go out of our way to accommodate what YOU like/think/feel. Try walking down the street in Riyadh with a bottle of Johnny Walker and see what conservative Islam thinks about accommodating OUR culture within theirs. Note: I am actually more comfortable in Riyadh than many parts of Canada - mostly for the booze and drug reasons. BUT I would NEVER insult my Saudi friends or hosts by even suggesting they should bend to my cultural predilections when I am in their country.

  12. I defer to all Godess's comments. I believe how women should be dressed is an issue for them to decide as individuals. As a man I will dress the way I want. I do not go about naked out of a basic decency for my fellow homo sapiens who do not need such a sight. On that note it is absurd for Maroc to call anyone racist and then exhibit intolerance to others and perpetuate concepts based on sexual identity needing to be repressed with attire. Thank you I do not need a burkha to help me control my penis Maroc. Some of us have evolved past that.

  13. Yeah, it always starts out as a measely billion or so, but once the Liberals get their hands into our back pocket, billions more pour into yet another totally useless bureaucracy just to buy some more votes. Remember that self-funding gun registry that was going to save us all from death and destruction? How many billions that that "freebie" cost us?

  14. The most obvious of these is the AR-15. Legally owned AR-15s have killed, as far as I'm aware, a total of -0- people in Canada. Doesn't sound like all that immediate a problem.

  15. Most Canadians are city people, and most don't have a clue about how gun licensing works, or how restrictive the laws already are. Most will accept the Liberals ban on 'military grade' weapons as only common sense. They don't know what these weapons are or do. They know nothing about them.

  17. Based on stories from Muslim states you really don't need short skirts or pornographic pictures to inspire sexual assaults. All you have to be is female. Even females wearing burquas are routinely sexually assaulted in the streets of Cairo, Ankara and Jakarta. And the first think ISIS seemed eager to do when it took control of places was to rape a lot of women and set up auctions for buying and selling sex slaves.

  19. I am afraid in Canada we are becoming tolerant to intolerance. Just the fact that the above individual is talking about how women should dress shows you no matter how kind, welcoming and understanding we are in this country some people insist to bring their medieval beliefs in. And what is shocking, do you know who defends people like Marocc, social studies students that call themselves feminists, they smoke a few joints and they call you a racist for pointing that out. I am a positive person and I will end with this: When you take the TTC daily to work for years you see stuff, I remember this one day I was sitting across from this mom (in hijab) with 2 kids. The 2 kids were talking perfect English and were showing the mom how to use a dictionary app on a tablet to translate from Arabic to English. Everyone was smiling around, I was thinking to myself this is Canada man. @Marocc I guess when your expectations are so high and you come here thinking you will be like a CEO or something is probably easier to deal with it by taking refuge in whatever program you were brainwashed when you were young.

  20. Islam is not something that started from the Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu alaihi wa sallam). Isa [Jesus] (alaihi salam) was Muslim, Musa (alaihi salam) was Muslim and Abraham (alaihi salam) was Muslim. The Old Testament today commands women to either cover their head or shave their hair. The New Testament prescribes covering the head to church at least.

  21. Read some history, psychology, and anthropology, then you'll have some grounding before getting up on your soapbox and trying to pontificate about human nature. Then you'll understand that capitalism is a perverted economic system that values the worst aspects of human nature....the stuff we have to set aside during times like this as we become 'socialists' on the local level at least, and try to look out for others. That is why, faced with a pandemic, it's the capitalist nations like the US of A, that are going to shit. Because, during a health crisis like this, you need healthcare systems that treat the sick, prevent the spread of dangerous diseases, because it's to everyone's benefit if nobody and no population is carrying a disease and can't be treated or afford to be treated! That's why the billionaires were the first to flee New York and other business centers as soon as the Covid-19 got out of control in Europe and the US, and started holding their meetings on Zoom. Capitalism means the pandemic gets bigger and takes longer to get under control than it does in more socialistic societies, where the first priority is public health/not the health of banks and major corporations! And, there are many of us who are frontline workers in a range of fields, who have no choice other than to work directly with people who may be exposed to this virus, and do what we can to try to protect ourselves, and our families....who we do not want to bring it home to also! And on the bottom rungs of the work ladder are people who are doing REAL work...not fiddling on their computers or trying to sell shit online instead of in person.....those who have to work as delivery drivers, grocery stores, food prep, meat processing plants and other industries declared as essential...they have to go out and do it everyday for less money than they should be earning, especially during a time like this! The capitalists who grab the lion's share of the returns do not do real work! And that's why....especially doing a 3 trillion money grab in the US, they're anxious to get the real workers out there again and make the economy run....pandemic or not!

  22. Hence why the topic of outlawing in-camera lobbying should be a much hotter topic. I bet you thought these ideas were just random unconnected notions blowing thru my mind like bits of string and post-notes. There are potential opportunities for BIG sweeping changes to how we conduct both our economics and governance just waiting to be explored in the wake of this crisis. There is so much we don't need to go back to - sneaky fucking politicians at the top of the list, and especially when they're really stupid.

  25. Maybe, but there's different levels to it. I created an impression with one strong word so I didn't have to describe further. That would be silly. Most people who dress like it are just trying to look like one. They don't actually want to be one. Well, yes, I would deem it inappropriate if I had to be a client to someone wearing a skirt that doesn't cover her knees. I'm not referring to someone selling news papers, but to someone working in a bank for example. When I say I deem it inappropriate, I don't mean that it is an "issue" for me. It is not. It is simply something that is likely to cross my mind. If "should" refers vaguely to my preferences, yes. If it refers to "they should be made to wear more clothes", no. The sun can cause harm and many people burn their skins carelessly, apparently unaware of how dangerous it can be. In the summer, I do often wish this or that individual had more clothes on because it hurts me just to look at their skin and how they're still standing in the sun.

  27. It figures. Then too, you're the same person who has no problem with your evil Dem party punishing a Black Dem politician for seeking bipartisanship in our nation's COVID 19 fight. Therefore it makes total sense here, that you would do something asinine, like group all of Islam in the same category ---instead of fairly/veraciously distinguishing the Jihadist (barbaric, brutal and backward) mentality from that mentality of peaceful, loving Islamists such as Obama or Ilhan Omar or Elijah Cummings or @Marocc ... Your colossal unfairness here, was inspired by the Dems you support.

  28. The questions many are asking is where does it stop, today it is 1500 different guns that look like military firearms...what is it going to look like a year from now, when they decide all semi auto rifles are banned, all lever action guns are banned or all pump action shotguns … thats the problem, there is no line in the sand, it is what ever they decide when they decide it....all in the mind set of safety... but the facts do not support that....it is just an excuse to do it....

  29. As compared to making sure you're getting correct information and not expecting many sources = must be true if they all agree. I didn't say you do. I think I've brought it up before: one can hate ideologies as well, among other things. I think I've brought it up before, but I don't wear a burqa. If this question refers to all women and 'head to toe' refers to a burqa, then I don't think so. As for the religious obligation for women, it only applies to believers. However, I do believe, dressing as a slut to a job at an office on a daily basis, does something awful to the society as a whole if it has thousands of individuals doing the same.

  30. The fact they had to reach back 30 years ago, says a lot in these new ambitions, not to mention as the vice PM as said she linked domestic abuse to assault wpns as well , abuse of women and children all linked to this country having assault looking wpns…. Bill Blair states that Canada is being militarized....by having these wpns… well it's not because we are spending money on defense thats for sure.... I would not even try to reason with any lying liberals, if SNC and the countless other scandals have taught us anything people who vote for the left, honesty is not a trait they are looking for, in fact they don't give a rats ass, it's become a trait they look for... The next question is when are the conservatives going to get their shit together, and get a leader that can lead...then get rid of these pieces of garbage, that we are stuck with now.... I don't own any of these wpns, but i'm sure they are not cheap, last time I checked they with all they attachments 5they run about 5000.00 to some fetching 14,000 I wonder what fair market value is going to be.... and how much will the buy back program cost.... and would all this money not be spent fighting illegal guns...say at the borders and through theft . or is this just something to take our minds off that they had spent over 250 bil fighting the virus in the first phase....I wonder how much the 2 and or 3 rd waves are going to cost.

  31. Trudeau and Blair used the terrible tragedy in N.S. which was committed by an unlicensed criminal with illicit firearms, to push through a non evidence based law by by-passing democracy and Parliament. Yes other leaders have used an O in C for other legislation, but this is a minority gov't exploiting a tragedy and pandemic resulting in Parliament not sitting. Non evidence as they have not provided us with a shred of evidence that this will stop criminals from using illegal guns. Even if you are no fan of guns, every Canadian should be outraged that our democracy is being subverted and that their government is lying to them about what their actions will accomplish. Why is the gov’t stating that military grade firearms are available in Canada legally when they are not, automatic weapons as used by the military are allready banned. The magazine size and capabilities of military weapons are allready prohibited in Canada.

  32. Your friend should be more interested in wanting to bomb China and not Iran. Wake up alright. On top of the Fentanyl being dumped on American and Canadians, and killing thousands of them every year, no one here wants to talk about the Chinese communists who are still holding two innocent Canadians hostages and locked up in one of their communist gulags. And it would appear as though comrade Trudeau and many members here could careless about that. Instead of attacking comrade Trudeau and wondering why the buffoon has not done a thing about those two Canadians being held as hostages many members here prefer to go after Trump over everything he says or does. Sad indeed. I have no love for Iran but I have even less love for communist China.

  33. And his sudden interest in blaming China is coming about because HE is being blamed for screwing up the pandemic response and can't figure a way to blame the Democrats. God knows he has to find someone to blame because Trump has never taken responsibility for anything in his life. Action against China needs to be taken by a united West, but Trump has spent the last three and a half years attacking and insulting other western countries and leaders. Instead of involving the rest of the West in a united effort to force China into obeying international trade rules he flailed about wildly at every single trading nation from Canada to Europe to South Korea. Yes. China and Russia have moved swiftly to increase their influence around the world while Trump has still not even filled the vacancies at the State Department left when Obama's appointees left, including a quarter of ambassadorships.
