Exactly. And that he’s asking for forgiveness. Forgiveness he’d never extend to anyone else, especially his opponents.2 points

I have to agree. Harper was more astute and actually more centrist than Trudeau. He was sensible and smart on policy. He took flack early on about not doing enough on climate change, but he came around to being a centrist on that too. He reached out to Quebec with mixed success, but did rather well to represent the different regions. I didn’t like him at first but warmed up over time. Trudeau isn’t all bad, but he needs to govern from the middle, be more realistic and less self-righteous. I won’t be voting Liberal because they are too far left. The NDP under Layton then Mulcair were more centrist than the current Liberals.2 points

In the meantime, here we are seemingly heading into a period of very troubled global times on shaky ecosystems with dodgy economies, war drums beating in the background and the world is...hey look, there goes Justin Trudeau! No doubt the people who get rich making ecosystems shakier, economies dodgier and especially thrive on war are ROTF and LTAO. This is how it ends, seriously?1 point

Actually, he got the idea from Donald Trump and the GOP...Americans....oh my !1 point

And of course you can show me where I did that (not). If you'd been paying attention at all (not) you would have noticed I'm actually fixated on governments that tilt playing fields towards the rich and powerful, are cozy with dictators...oh and that ignore climate change - which more often than not has more to do with dinking around with playing fields. That's what I blame/hate.1 point

With Scheer as the PM he will not change the status quo. All will be liberal business as usual. I believe that most Canadians do want a change from the status quo and I believe that Bernier can give that too them. I believe that most Canadians are tired of big government, high taxes, and losing their freedoms thru more red tape and hate laws. But I would not rule out anti-establishment Bernier just yet. The debates are coming up and anti-establishment Bernier will now be able to get his programs and agendas across to we the people. It could cause some problems for the progressive conservatives but if both Bernier and Scheer can share a minority government together we can then see big changes for Canada which should help make Canada great again. Scheer would have to become more of a conservative and less of a progressive conservative. They could work well together to get rid of liberalism for good in Canada. Put Trudeau and anti-establishment Bernier together in a debate and Bernier would cream Blackface. Blackface can show us that he has not offered a thing for Canada or Canadians and never will. Anti-establishment Bernier can give we the people hope for the future. But I guess we will have to wait and see after the debates as to who the people would like to have as their PM. I know as to who I would like to have as PM for Canada. Anti-establishment Bernier.1 point

Bernie Sanders is senile. It's obvious from the get go, and he's in the wrong chair. He belongs in the retirement home with diapers.1 point

The liberals will say anything and will suck up to any group of people that will listen too them just to get their votes. The liberals could careless about who you belong too. They will try to pretend that they are there for all the people and will fight against any kinds of prejudice or racism. Yet, we now can see today that it is all just liberal bull. The liberals are racist and prejudice themselves and do try to cause division to try and get the suckers that will listen too them to get their votes. Only fools will vote for a liberal party that has no problem with lying their asses off. There is only one true political leader that Canada has right now. His name is Maxine Bernier, and people would do well to go to his website and see what he has to offer that will make Canada great once again. Bernier is not politically correct and does talk about real issues that are affecting and ruining and destroying Canada today. The rest will not because they are all in the same leftist liberal boat together. They all want to turn Canada into a socialist third world country with no borders to try and stop anyone from coming into Canada illegally. All of them are avoiding the topic of multiculturalism and immigration. They all want more of those two, and not less. This next election can either be the beginning of a better and greater Canada or a country that will not look or be like Canada anymore in another two decades if those others gain power and control of Canada. If one wants to continue with more liberal socialist globalist programs and agendas then vote for any other but Bernier. It's up too you.1 point

Yes, in fact they are increasing emissions so fast and so high that they're basically adding multiple Alberta oil sands worth of CO2 emissions every year. But the lefties don't care about that. Let the Indians build as many coal power plants as they want. The lefties only care about Alberta because if they continue IT'S GAME OVER FOR THE PLANET! AAAAGH! AAAAAGH!1 point

It isn't the fear of racism. It's the fear that if they acknowledge it then someone is likely to ask what they intend to do about it. And none of them have the balls to confront the issue as the reserves, particularly the Mohawk reserves, are quite hostile to Canadian police on their territory and likely to resist any attempt to stop smuggling.1 point

An adult, a teacher in the same school. There is also a question of why he left the school mid term, but our Cdn. media doesn't seem to want to follow up with any of this, maybe the Telegraph will.1 point

Liberals don't even know what an assault rifle is so how can they ban them. An AR15 style rifle is a semi-Automatic, not an assault weapon. Soldiers use assault weapons in battle not Canadian citizens doing target practice defending their homes, hunting or protecting their farms.1 point

You want an answer? Create your own thread with that question, then. Yes, this issue is about character. Read the OP again. This is about character . The character of Justin Trudeau. Not about me. I'm not the PM, nor am I running for that office. Stick to the topic, please.1 point

Ya that would be deemed racist. Someone needs to call a spade a spade without fear of being called racist. Sometimes the truth offends people, tough.1 point

Link? You are also just promoting hatred against Muslims. It seems to me that you hate everybody except white supremacists. Or, excuse me, do you prefer to be called a white 'nationalist'?1 point

Phhht! More twisted white nationalist nonsense. Is that the crap your leaders are feeding you? You do know that they're just manipulating you to feed their own malicious sociopathic egos. I am anti-fascist. We have freedom of expression too. We do drown out hateful, racist homophobes who try to rally in public spaces, or who go to Pride Fests to spew hatred. Inciting and promoting hatred against identifiable groups in our communities isn't appropriate behaviour ... and it's illegal in Canada: https://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/c-46/section-319.html Free speech doesn't mean anyone 'has to' listen to you. Hateful fascist idiots get 'booed off stages' all the time, because many more people don't like what they're saying. 'Free speech' is for all. Lol Suck it up, buttercup!1 point

Donald Trump won the popular vote in 30 US states, that are worth 305 electoral votes. Hillary won the popular vote in 20 US states + DC, that are worth a total of 232 electoral votes. It's is the United States of America, and not the United People's of America, for a reason. Zeitgeist is just mad that the system is deliberately designed to stop a party running up voting total margins only in major urban centers from winning the White House, and it worked against the party he wanted to win.1 point

Here is what no one touches about Justin in these days of political correctness. He's gay. Oops I said it. He's gay Its there. Its known in Montreal and Toronto in specific circles about Trudeau and Morneau and its a subject the press looks past just as they did knowing Pierre Trudeau was gay. Trudeau shows a conflicted double identity and has repeatedly acted out his dual identity. His subconscious is sabotaging him. Trudeau is undergoing a phenomena where his repressed identity struggles to get out. The need to show he is the exact opposite of what he looks like is being played out in public. He has chosen to live a double life to get political votes no different than his father did. The fact is someone healthy as a gay, bisexual or heterosexual has no confusion of identity. People closeted do. The Liberals found themselves a spoiled, sheltered affected son of Trudeau who loves to dress up and play swashbuckler. They plucked this guy out of the backseats and anointed him and created a recycled Trudeau brand... only the son is not Pierre. He is not his father. He has no intellectual forte in any discipline to offset his stunning immaturity and narcissism. I personally wish a politician could be gay openly and run and not feel the need to be closeted. I can appreciate why some would feel they can not but this is what happens. One's true identity comes out just like water comes back to where you dredge it from sooner than later. Trudeau is having a meltdown over his double identity. I do not think the country should have to deal with it.1 point

I often disagree with Coyne, but in this column his response is almost the same as my own feelings. It isn't that Trudeau is revealed as a racist, but more that his sanctimonious hypocrisy is laid bare for all to see. Perhaps the most damning thing that can be said is that, when the prime minister claims he was unaware, as a 29-year-old teacher in 2001, that dressing up as a member of a racial minority was offensive — that, in fact, it did not dawn on him until after he was elected as an MP, in 2008 — most of us believe him. It is difficult to believe he could be that racist, but it is all too easy to believe he could be that clueless. Even so, the photos and video are disturbing, quite apart from their offensiveness. It requires more than mere ignorance or insensitivity to dress the part with such care, even to the point of blackening the parts of his body his clothes concealed, or with such enthusiasm. His delight in blackface appears to be of a piece with other aspects of his behaviour, such as his party trick of falling down stairs, and to stem from the same psychological wellsprings: the vanity, the insatiable desire for attention, the showy theatricality. https://nationalpost.com/opinion/andrew-coyne-is-justin-trudeau-a-racist-no-he-is-a-sanctimonious-fraud1 point

Exactly. Don’t you love how every time Trudeau does something wrong, the discussion ends up being about somebody else? First it was the ethics violation, handed down by the ethics commissioner. Yet most of the discussion ended up being about Harper. Now Trudeau dons black face, and it’s all about Trump. It’s absurd.1 point

Correct...but this is hardly new. What is different is that new media has democratized national and global speech/expression, and a president took advantage of this development, just like the one prior to him. So now the political and culture wars have been enjoined by "fact checking" sites, which have their own agenda as well. Oh look...Russians !1 point

On another note, can anyone around here imagine themselves surviving the fine-toothed comb one has to endure to jump into politics? We seem to be heading towards some sort of bottleneck where everyone will have eliminated themselves from the running due to some past indiscretion, photo or controversial opinion. The list of indiscretions only seems to be growing in size and scope. Like a clock that's to tightly wound up something is going to break.1 point

For the 'theater of your mind' . . . . . visualize Donald Trump, or Vladimir Putin, or Stephen Harper, or Boris Johnson, or anyone else who's a Caucasian leader dressed-up in 'black face' . . . How embarrassing to have this vacuous fool representing our country. How embarrassing to have him re-elected.1 point

This wouldn't be as big an issue if Trudeau wasn't such a virtue signalling hypocrite, not only that he lied saying there were only 2 incidents, we now know there are 3 (that we know of). It's also about the Liberal tactic of digging up past Conservative transgressions which is coming back to bite them. Trudeau is a pathological liar. Live by the sword, die by the sword1 point

Whether Justin Trudeau nods to his own guilt of being 'racist' or not for 'brown-face', I find the presumption that such an act is symbolic of anything full of shit. If "brown-face' is racist merely for one attemting to look like someone else OF another kind, then the same stupidity of assumption should apply to anyone dressing up as ANYTHING OTHER THAN THEMSELVES! This would mean that one who cross-dresses to another gender is racist. Down with all those 'furies' too: how horrifying must it be for some real bear to see a human dare to dress up as Teddy Bear! ? And what about all those Trekies attempting to dress up as some alien race. The stupidity of this thinking can at best point out Trudeau as being hypocritical. Other than that, a belief in "cultural appropriation" is itself proof to me that those offended are arrogantly BEING racist or sexist because they'd have to presume that an external phenotypical GENETIC related factor is NECESSARILY tied to one's internal artistic thoughts and capacities.1 point

A third picture of Trudeau in blackface uncovered. Personally I don't think this is racist, given the context, but then I don't have the same standards as the progressive types - like Trudeau - who only need one instance of bad judgement somewhere in a person's history to judge someone as irredeemably racist forever. I can't help smile, though, at the irony of Trudeau being 'hoist upon his own petard'. And I would note that if a Liberal candidate had even one such instance surface in his or her past Trudeau would drop them like last month's poutine while giving a sanctimonious statement about how the Liberal party doesn't tolerate racism. And, of course, if these surfaced in the history of a Conservative, well, you can be sure he and his entire party would be rushing to condemn them as a white supremacist hatemonger. There is no forgiveness for stuff like this in the callout culture Trudeau enthusiastically embraces. But while I don't much care about the racism angle it does reinforce, to me, and I suspect to most world leaders who already are of the opinion that he's a shallow, virtue signaling fool, that this is not a serious person on any level. This guy goes around the world lecturing other world leaders, from China to Washington wrapped in a smug sense of superiority. As a result he's managed to alienate all the world's biggest and most influential countries. These pictures will just make them smirk. They will extend Canada's bad reputation, though, to a number of developing countries who, like Russia, China, India and the US, will now treat Canada with less respect. We've already seen that from the likes of Saudi Arabia and the Philippines. We'll see more of it if he is elected. https://ca.rogers.yahoo.com/news/justin-trudeau-brownface-scandal-005529763.html1 point

He and his party have accused numerous people of being racist-how could he not expect these photos to be thrown back at him. The moment he began pointing the finger at others as racists for past comments and behaviour, he exposed himself. He knew these photos existed as did everyone else. Its called karma. He threw out crap and it was thrown back at him. What it shows is what you and I and everyone should know. He is a rich privileged sheltered boy with affectations that come from a privileged life where he was never challenged and could do no wrong and never grew up with anyone with a sun tan. What it shows is he is a privileged player no different than his father. His father drove around during WW2 in a motor cycle in Quebec wearing a WW1 German army helmet while his fellow Quebecers were dying in Europe fighting Germans. Justin one year after 9-11 was dressing up as some Arab story book character when he was 29. Also do note where his hands are. For someone who is so quick to call other racists and sexist oh do look where his hands are. He has skeletons. This just another example of his affectations and true self. For me what is far more serious is his conduct with Lavalin, his conduct with people in his own party who questioned him and his sense of privilege when he has engaged in ethical violations to name many issues of concern. The first concern is the deficit spending he has saddled the country with. He deserves the heat on this and Jagmeet Singh can now play the teary eyed victim to try manipulate votes. That won't work either. For those who heroworship Trudeau maybe its a wake up call who knows. When he told aboriginal peoples at a closed door fund raiser raising the issue of mercury poisoninhg, " thank you for your donations" and dismissed them rudely, he showed his true self-an arrogant, snot nosed rich boy playing politics but never far from the silver spoon which is permanently wedged up his buttocks.1 point

Humans are responsible for pollution and other problems which we are gradually eliminating, but generally they are not responsible for earth's changing climate, nor can they do anything to stop it. We can clean up pollution as we are but earth has cycled and come in and out of ice ages before humans had any impact at all. Instead of hysterics and policies damaging to our economy and standard of living, we should be building and preparing the future.1 point
