You seem to have great interest in "Canada's problems", but you don't see the mutual interests in global, continental, and domestic policies that curb the losses of good jobs in Canada and the US. I find it funny that you're so bent on calling out our dependence on the U.S. (Canada is also the US's biggest export market), yet you counter every made in Canada policy, product, politician...We hear a lot about anti-Americanism, but your posts are very ant-Canada. Then why bother commenting? Of course you don't care about Canada...

I feel sorry for you in a way. I consider myself pretty normal (tough definition to support, I agree) but consider this - I've always been an environmental supporter - protecting species, clean water, clean air, sustainable forests - and I always admired people who could dedicate themselves to such lifelong endeavors - often at the expense of personal sacrifice - and it's usually a thankless job needing a lot of fundraising support. But now - thanks to people like you - this honourable and traditional view of environmental stewardship has been hijacked by the Carbon Crowd. Millions upon millions are going to CO2 activism instead of being applied to true environmental causes - and that's a shame.

Really, really disappointing to see democracy and Western values used against us in this way. Kudos to Islam and their idiotic Western progressive supporters. They got what they wanted - women's and children's rights are going down the outhouse hole and we can't make laws fast enough to stop it. They are actually saying that this practice needs to be "debated". And that the only reason for the law is because some might possibly find the practice cruel and repulsive. I'm in shock and scared for women.

The tariffs the USA is putting on other nations will have harmful effects on you as a person. The Media also told me that Obama was a great president. I disagree. Some of what Trump is doing I like, and some of it is outright retarded.

It's not because a large portion of Canadians hate Americans, because really they don't, now this is just my opinion, what pisses off Canadians is Americans have a rich identity, the red white and blue, your patriotic to a fault, you don't really care who you piss off, because your proud of who you are, where you came from, all of your history, can I get a WHOOORAAHH please ...Canadians don't have any of that, Oh we want to have it, but we just can't get there.... Shit we would be hard pressed to tell any one what our values and morals are, what we believe in, what excites us...except Hockey and poggy checks....and the odd beer... I mean all you have to do is look at our national choices for things that represent Canada....The Beaver WTF were they thinking , you can't tell me there was not another animal out there that was not taken.... what about the Artic fox, or better yet the Polar bear....no we picked a rodent that sole job is to chew trees down and build dams impressive...Our national sport is lacrosse….how many times a week is that national televised, Can more than 2 people tell me what the national league for lacrosse is called.... how many players do we have national any ways....would it even be comparable to Hockey....and yet the vast majority of us Canadians eat sleep and shit hockey...but did we pick hockey....nope.... deep down I think we wish we where Americans, just to have something we could call our own....to look up to, to have a sense of values and morals to get excited about singing a national anthem ....don't get me wrong, i'm proud to be Canadian, and I do say sorry a lot, and I am polite yes maam, yes sir, I prefer Canadian beer, to American....I will stop everything i'm doing to watch a good hockey game, or play in one, it's like we turn into little green hulks when we gear up and play hockey, we could gouge your eyes out with a blade of a stick in no time...ya we'd say sorry, even try to stuff that eye back in...see out on the ice we are assholes, off the ice we don't know who we are, except we will say we are not Americans, even know we are more similar to Americans than to any other culture....

We’ve had this conversation. Brain drain was a 90’s phenomenon when we had a bad recession. Net migration is low. Yes your size makes certain jobs available that we don’t have, but it’s a very minor flow. If you want to do a tech start-up, something in genetics, AI, biomedical, astrophysics, it’s all here. We were the third country to put a satellite in space. The telephone, smart phone, insulin, IMAX, hockey, and basketball all came out of Canada. There’s no shortage of opportunities. You just like to think we’re an extension of the US. I’ve said it before: The US could learn a few things about policy from us, on immigration, gun control, and dealing with inner city problems, but you won’t listen unless we flatter you and let you think it was your idea. It’s like Kanye asking Trump to end Stop and Frisk. You’ve become quite fearful, and it’s playing out in anti immigrant sentiment and more public policy that allows the rich to wall themselves off from the neglected and throw the trouble makers in jail. That’s the spectacle we see from up here and it really detracts from all the great things about America. I won’t even get into your prez’s climate change denial.
