Sarah Sanders tweeted: Sara Sanders tweeted: The owner of the Red Hen, gave her side of the story: https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/local/wp/2018/06/23/why-a-small-town-restaurant-owner-asked-sarah-huckabee-sanders-to-leave-and-would-do-it-again/?utm_term=.6d4a1ac052d4 There is a note on the board of that restaurant, which is meant for employees. "86" is a code for "refuse service." Isn't it funny how the same people who indignantly say, "well, if you're open for business to the public - you can't discriminate on anyone," would find nothing seriously wrong with this? isn't that how they reason when they oppose bakers who refuse to bake wedding cakes for certain people? At least, religious owners who'd refused, have a ground to stand on - their right to freedom of religion! Trump has not been convicted of any crimes. No one has the right to judge Sanders based simply on her doing what she was hired for, and the man she works for. Does this mean people can now dictate if they don't like your employment? It's either you leave your employment, or get 86-ed? Is it okay then to turn away those who work as prostitutes and strippers in clubs, based on moral grounds? If you find adultery as immoral - can we use that to justify 86-ing them? The Red Hen discriminated on Sarah Sanders, based on her job, and the man she works for. And, looks like it's treated lightly.1 point

For the first time the regime is under pressure both internally by the nation demanding an end to islamic republic (and again for the first time it is the poor who started the protests against the regime who used to be their core supporters) and also under external pressure mainly by the US and the incoming severe sanctions. Unlike the idiot called Obama who slept with the mullahs, Trump is smart and he knows that removal of this cancerous regime is good for the whole world not just Iranian people and he knows just how to do it too. No compromise no handshakes with the devil this time until the devil is back on hell.1 point

The only people who may start a civil war in America are the liberals and democrats who to this day will not accept their defeat and appear as though they are going to do whatever it takes to try and get rid of Trump and booted out of office even if it has to come to a civil war to do so. The likes of that democrat Maxine Waters is a prime example of someone who is trying to foment a civil war in America. That crazy woman is nuts. It is the liberal/democrats who are the dividers here and are the ones who have created the bloody mess going on right now in America long before Trump came along. Sheesh, get real will you for a change.1 point

Those on the left are so thrilled, they are probably donating money to the restaurant in appreciation. I wouldn't doubt the owner gets on CNN wins a contract, does the rounds on all the talk shows, comedy, SNL..1 point

I guess by situation you mean, with the kids being separated. But isn't it true that this 'situation' already existed with previous presidents? Yes, it's true. Ok, so agreed the situation is despicable, and they need to find a solution immediately. Explain how it now becomes their personal fault? Why is it right that individuals (Sanders...) should be confronted for what seems to be a practice put in place for years now, made into law long before they came into power?1 point

Iranian female soccer fans threw away the forced hijab into garbage bags and breathed freedom for a short while while passionately supporting their team. https://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/latest-news/712121/iran-hottest-fan-hijab-viral-photo-world-cup-portugal Soon they all will be free again to dress based on their choice under a free Iran like their mothers used to do when progressive Pahlavi dynasty was in power.1 point

Waters has always been a lunatic, but not dumb I suppose as she's managed to make a few million while in the job. Even Nancy Pelosi (must've been a cold day in hell) says her comments are unacceptable - mind you it was Trump's fault of course. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gC416Jfn601 point

This is an adaptation of a letter I wrote to my clergy, in response to the synagogue's missive about being compassionate to immigrants: As you should know, I did not support Donald Trump. I am a lifelong liberal Democrat My vote for Hillary caused some hard feelings with some people to whom I feel close. Opinions on discrete matters and issues need to be based on facts, not emotions. The fact is that the separation of parents and children started in 2014. I doubt it was Obama's decision personally. I do not feel this lies at Trump's doorstep. I do not feel that enforcement of U.S. law equals "nativist sentiment." As much as the caring side of me would like to solve the world's problems, the fact is that most countries in this world are anarchic, kleptocratic and violent. Though I am not an adherent of Thomas Hobbes, regretfully he was right when he wrote that "No arts; no letters; no society; and which is worst of all, continual fear, and danger of violent death: and the life of man, solitary, poor, nasty, brutish and short." The United States has created something better. If we encourage the chaotic onslaught of the billions of people that have not organized a civil society in this manner, the world will have no "shining lights" to which to look. Israel, the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Australia, and to a lesser extent the Scandinavian countries, the countries of the European continent, and Costa Rica are parts of this very limited constellation. When the West abandoned the respective colonial empires there was hope that each of these societies would find, in their own way, the path to civil society. For far, it has not proven to be the case. People have cited the Bible on behalf of “humane” treatment of immigrants. See Exodus 22:21, Leviticus 19:33-34 and 24:22, Deuteronomy 27:19. This does not mean to fling open the gates. The Old Testament and Western democracy are not suicide pacts. I have not studied enough text to know what the passages mean. Our duties to the immigrants are balanced by our responsibility to our own country. The people who "need to live safely and securely" to quote a recent clerical missive, include us. Bringing an unlimited number of people who have never lived in a society that exists as a free society largely because of self-discipline is not congruent with safety and security. What we are doing is dumping people more or less at random on communities not equipped to cope with them. The call for compassion does not come with any program for education of these people, either in English or in the ways of civil society. Bringing people in so that they can experience the glories of incarceration or at best severe disorientation is cruel. What is needed is to condition aid to these countries on allowing the donors to administer the aid. In short, all issues of contemporary concern need to be discussed in a calm, cool and collected manner. Not one stoked by emotion.1 point

There's a bit of a difference here......Trump actually lies all by himself. Trudeau on the other hand is told to lie by his handlers. He's not smart enough to know whether he's lying or not.1 point

The rhetoric and calls for civil disobedience and possibly violence are heating up; likely because unable to win democratically, the Democrats are planning to impose their platform via a coup through civil disobedience. They have never accepted that their loss, I guess it was just too much for them to handle in a mature manner. Having said that, I don't really think there will be a civil war or close, but the hyperbole and threats will no doubt increase and someone will get hurt. I don't know who would run for the Dems next time but they had better have an excellent candidate in place.1 point

Mullahs language is not to start a conversation with them. They will negotiate their way out of it.... 1- Unilateral and systematic sanctions by US as well as ass kissers of mullahs namely UK, France and Germany on ‘Sepah’ and other governmental organisations. 2- Freezing mullah’s assets in Swiss and other foreign bank accounts. 3- Targetted surveillance of activities by Sepah through charitable organisations where they “waste” Iranian’s money on buying arms and building the infrastructure of other countries rather than helping Iranians. The only language a mullah will understand is force! Weaken their position by cutting off the money supplies that they use to prop up their survival. This will give ammunition to people to come out in masses. Any killings of people in masses will be met by force.1 point

I thought Trump supporters favored the "Suck it up, Snowflake!" attitude to interacting with people they don't like. "F--k Your Feelings!" as the t-shirt says. They take great pride in hurting other peoples' feelings and "triggering the snowflakes". Why are they upset about this? I thought they applaud this kind of thing. Sarah's smarmy little Tweet about "respecting people, even when they disagree" is hilarious, considering the people she works with. For her to expect respect when the whole of the Trump regime insults and ridicules and attacks anybody and everybody they consider an enemy, is hilarious. Does she have no self-awareness at all? Sarah used to run a super-PAC whose core mission was fighting against rights for gay people. Which was also a main cause of her dad Mike's political career. For these two knuckleheads to cry "bigotry" about what happened to Sarah at the restaurant is richly ironic. And a while back there was the comedian who said mean things about Sarah at the correspondents dinner. How terrible! Trump supporters cheer on their hero as he insults and demeans everyone, yet someone says a few mean things about Sarah and they're crying about how mean and unfair it is. Boo-hoo! I find it impossible to feel sorry for Mrs Huckabee-Sanders. "F--- her feelings," as the saying goes. I think she should, as Trump supporters like to say, "suck it up, snowflake!" Or, as Melania's jacket said, "I don't really care, do U?" Or as Corey Lewandowski succinctly put it, "womp womp." -k1 point

Maxine Waters is inciting people to violence by saying they should confront people in the Trump admin, but it's okay for Sanders to use her government account to target private individuals and businesses? That isn't inciting people to violence? I don't know of the legality of denying service but as I understand, you aren't supposed to do so on the basis of race, gender or sexual orientation. I believe you still can for not wearing shoes or a shirt, so maybe you can for locking children in cells and for being a compulsive liar. If Sanders feels she has a human rights challenge, she should certainly pursue it. That would be better than using her government Twitter to attack private citizens. But I think people are going out of their way to patronize the Red Hen. Confronting these people is the only moral thing to do in this situation.1 point

I guess they can discriminate against anyone unless they are black, gay or whatever, just not political affiliation. Trump supporters have the right to respond and paint them as bigots they are, if it cuts their business then he took that chance. He's taking a lot of flak right now so who knows in the long run how it will affect his business, depends on how the locals swing I guess. The Dems seem to becoming more unhinged all the time, especially that Maxine Waters, my goodness she's a piece of work. Regardless of how she phrased it, she is inciting people to violence. None of this is really about kids, it's all about hating Trump and anything to do with him. Gives a whole new meaning to the original 'Bush Derangement Syndrome' Surprised the WP is defending Sanders saying the: “never-at-rest social media” has blurred the lined of public and private life, the newspaper’s board wrote. http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/393884-wapo-editorial-board-sarah-sanders-should-be-allowed-to-eat The editorial came the day after Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) called on her supporters to continue confronting Trump officials in public.1 point

Truth is NOT subjective. Accurate reporting would present all sides of a situation so viewers were well-informed. Then it would be up to them to make a decision based on that information. Most things are shades of gray, not all white or black. But simplistic media prefer a simple message, all white or all black. That leads people to doubt their integrity.1 point

I'm not sure what principle we can find other than being true. Being fair? There used to be a law in the US which demanded political coverage by the news give equal time to both sides. I'm not sure how we could do that with subjects. The coverage of the migrant 'crisis' in the US is a case in point. The media is filled with shrill stories about 'families being torn apart' and has all but stated this is a deliberate policy, that Trump wants to 'separate' families. You have people in media comparing it to Hitler and the Holocaust, and talking about children being detained, incarcerated and caged. There are crowds outside detention facilities demanding they 'let the children go!" (go where? Their parents are in custody) This is all highly emotional language which is having a big impact on the mindset of the viewers. In reality, all that is happening is a sudden change in policy to prosecute those who enter the US illegally. A byproduct of this is that those who do so with children wind up having the children temporarily taken into state care, just as happens to every other child whose parents are arrested across the US. This is compounded by things being somewhat disorganized since the policy change was sudden and the agency involved didn't have time to prepare.1 point

Why doesn't Trudeau start to use the thousands of people that are sitting around coming up with useless statistics and information (pollsters for instance) and figure out what Canada's trade situation is with the US and the rest of the world, find out numbers of what we're exporting and importing then go from there. Then he could have a round table meeting with the provinces, figure out what and why we are squabbling over trade and setting barriers with each other all the time and work on fixing that. He claims he's Canada's prime minister it's time he shows some leadership instead of being the worlds poodle and running behind the rest. The fact that Alberta has to invest huge money into exporting crude at reduced prices so we can subsidize Ontario importing refined petroleum at world prices just blows me away. Ontario exports automobiles, why not supply for the Canadian market first then export excess? The same goes for every other industry in Canada. We have a dairy industry that's vibrant and taking care of itself, why not leave it alone. The US isn't the only country that we have trade issues with, there is always some country that's banning Canadian exports for whatever reasons, beef, chickpeas, canola, wheat are a few that come to mind recently, countries go to war, go broke, don't like the way we do business, steal our technology etc., I say we take care of our own first instead of trying to turn the whole population into truck drivers and paper pushers. Trump is the biggest idiot on the planet at this time no question but he is 100% correct about bringing industry back home. It's ironic that he will be doing more for the environment then anybody else just by reducing worldwide freight movement, look at this https://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/travel-truths/lost-container-ships-bizarre-world-of-global-shipping/ (if he succeeds...).1 point

Here in Canada, we have an opportunity to make a big difference in global emissions by sending oil to China to displace some of their coal - but the Social Justice gang (AKA Eco-Nuts) want one thing only - to keep fossil fuels in the ground.
