HE notwithstanding, I think we can all agree that we benefit from the US military and our proximity to that country.3 points

So you say while you enjoy the good life and prosperity the U.S. and allies have brought you. You enjoy the freedom to spout your nonsense because the U.S. and allies fought for your freedom.2 points

Don't come across like you know something about the law, since you believe he could not be charged simply because of his age. Now that I proved you wrong you have no comeback besides personal attacks.2 points

Sometimes evil masquerades as 'good' to trick gullible people. The destruction of Syria by the USA and allies is pure greed, pure evil. So was Iraq. So was Afghanistan. Anywhere in the world where there is conflict, you can bet the US corporatocracy is doing its evil work to take control of the government and its finances, and the country's resources. John Perkins, author of 'Economic Hitman' calls it "mutant ... viral ... predatory ... capitalism" It is US based, and it is evil.2 points

Omar Khadr is special because he is the son of Ahmed Khadr, a Jihadist and close friend and associate of Osama Bin Laden. Then Liberal Prime Minister Jean Chretien was instrumental in having Ahmed Khadr released from a Pakistani jail. Chretien took that action mainly in order to persuade Canadians that the Liberal Party was more compassionate than opposition parties and went to great lengths to stand up for Canadians abroad. For Trudeau to recognize that Omar Khadr is a killer and a traitor for fighting against our allies and our soldiers would be tantamount to condemning ex-PM Chretien's actions which set Ahmed free to continue murderous Jihadist actions. That would be harmful to the Liberal brand. Hence the 10.5M payoff.2 points

Thank god for USA. Just imagine if it was not them in charge, all the idiots here would not have a safe forum to spout off thier nutty conspiracy theories. It is so sad that there are people here that think the world did not start till GW was in power. And that everyone was living ;large till america showed up. Have the west done things right all the time no, but certainly have helped out more countries and people then anyone else. Who saved the muslim butt in bosnia and other places AMERICA. Look at countries run by Isam, shit holes and will always be. Why do they all want to come here or america, think about it. Nothing but savages and need to be dealt with harshly. And to the women that support Islam, go live in a Islamic country and see what happens to you, when you open your mouth.2 points

Yes it is...and it includes Canadian and many other nations advancing their own economic interests over the locals, from mining to petroleum to military alliances and export sales. Nano thermite pixie dust cannot change this reality.2 points

You're on. End of production of fossil fuel vehicles ... in North America? I suggest we'll have difficulty knowing about the whole world.2 points

That's the way of the world. The strong and powerful can do anything. Thank God it's not a country like Libya, or Irag, or Zimbabwe, or Iran..... Anyway.....you think Islamists problems just sprouted overnight? That there wasn't any long-term planning involved? What's been the goal of Islam practically since its founding - isn't it to take over the world? Even Churchill warned about the danger of Islam! That's a century ago - before Trump! http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2012/11/30/happy-birthday-winston-churchill.html2 points

I wish that I could vote for a Trump like politician here in Canada. Trump is getting rid of his garbage and our feminist PM is helping to pick up that garbage, and bringing that garbage back home to Canada. I know that I am being ruled over by a bunch of useless liberal misfits who are out to destroy what was once a great WASP nation, and are now being allowed to turn it to a third world dump. Way the go, liberals. Your plan is working, bozos.2 points

Highly unlikely. 25 years, I expect. Are you still going to "kill the bastard" anyway? Are you going to take out other people too in your killing spree? Are you going to brainwash somebody else into doing it for you?1 point

You are quite ill-informed and I see that you choose to remain that way due to a religious prejudice.1 point

As of this year 2017 there has been over 4000 criminal so-called refugees that have entered Canada illegally. 4000 new criminals for Canada who do not believe in abiding by the laws of Canada. And all of them have to be fed, clothed, and housed all at the Canadian taxpayer's expense. It is now August and I must assume that there will be another 4000 plus illegals that will enter Canada before the year is over. That feminist PM of ours should be fired or arrested for allowing this to happen and blowing Canadian taxpayer's tax dollars probably to the tune of another hundred million or more tax dollars. Your Canadian tax dollars at work, sucker.1 point

Castro was a hero to most Cubans because he was a ruthless dictator who demanded total and complete loyalty from his people. Dissent was not tolerated, many spent years wasting away in abysmal prisons. You talk of others being gullible, yet you can't seem to grasp that the only reason that Cubans showed loyalty to their brutal leader was not of free choice, but of brutal repression.1 point

Which we didn't get to see here, thanks to the nice payoff this murderer received from JT.1 point

Anyway, the military is hardly a STEM profession. It does, however, help illustrate the point. Few women have much interest in joining the military - or the police or fire services, for example. That doesn't mean none. But it does mean they'll be heavily outnumbered by men. Still, there is always pressure to recruit more women, whether they want to be recruited or not, and promote them at all costs, regardless of qualification or merit. I'm certain Trudeau would love to appoint a woman to run the Defense department if there were any way he possibly could. But even once he dumps the current one he'd be hard-pressed to find an excuse to overlook Andrew Leslie without giving the man cause to resign.1 point

Nearly half of the asylum seekers crossing the Manitoba border illegally in the last few weeks are being detained because of serious criminal records, suggesting the profile of would-be refugee claimants is changing, according to the union representing border patrol officers. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/illegal-border-crossers-criminal-records-cbsa-union-1.40698201 point

If the Anglicans had the same cultural norms and were bringing them to Canada in large numbers (tens of thousands every year) and if those cultural norms were supported by their religion I'd be just as opposed to Anglican immigration as I am to Muslim immigration. And I don't 'fear and hate' Muslims. I simply do not consider them to be anywhere near the best kind of immigrants we could get, either culturally or economically. In fact, they're pretty much the worst. Thus there is no reason to bring them here and every reason not to.1 point

You two are welcome to defend Islamic terrorists and murderers as well as traitors to Canada, just to support of your leftist agenda.1 point

It's quite the tangled web. I believe the US military court had to define Khadr as an illegal or non-combatant? to even charge him with a crime. I also suspect his conviction will be overturned.1 point

Love the USA, just like millions of legal and illegal immigrants, including Canadians. WWII is often a nano ranter's historical demarcation because the big, bad, evil USA was very useful then...and it still is now. Canada's foreign minister sure thinks so:1 point

Hmmm ... Then perhaps we should define it as sales of new vehicles?1 point

His mother is the only other adult who could be considered responsible, but I doubt very much that there would be any evidence that she she forced Omar into AlQuaeda. That was his father's doing.1 point
-
Nonsense. To compare the actions of Khadr with that of women wearing burkas is rather stupid. Women wearing burkas are not committing a crime per se. They are not making bombs or attempting to kill anyone by doing so. The notion that little Omar is a victim and his murderous actions are to be given a pass would not stand up in a court of law. Leftists continually conflate and try to make everything equivalent to everything else. It is their ideological undoing.1 point

Bullshit. Your ability to read minds is astounding. One wonders why you aren't out solving the world's problems since you have such talent in ascertaining the true motivations and thoughts of absolutely everyone. Or at least making a killing among the gullible who believe that sort of claptrap.1 point

And as has been said many times, you haven't seen anything yet. Wait until climate change starts forcing refugees our way if it hasn't already.1 point

Just saw this post. I have to say that I cannot imagine the pain and trauma of having this in your history. i want to also say I am impressed by your ability to take a more moderate view of Muslims overall, considering that there is still a sizable contingent who continue to hate and target Jews and given how horribly Jews have already suffered from hatred in recent memory. Thank you for demonstrating what I consider true humanity, and which I believe the majority of humans are both capable of and willing to do. Too bad your views on JT are so wrong, though.1 point

That's all speculation, mostly debunked from what I've read about GAI. People might quit crummy jobs, but they can then afford the education/training they need to do the job they want, or the time and money to start the business they want, a parent can afford to be home with kids, reducing child care subsidies and other costs. It actually improves the economy. You don't seem to consider the many other economic benefits. No, costs don't increase because there are savings in many other social costs, and people are now able to progress to better incomes (and pay more taxes), instead of being stuck in "crummy jobs". And those providing 'the crummy jobs' may have to sharpen up and make it worth people's time ... or automate.1 point

JT says don't worry about economic refugees/welfare state shoppers stealing jobs. Employment isn't what they're here for.1 point

For phucks sakes, do you folks ever read anything that isn't in your bubble? The US wrecked Haiti, the US has stolen the vast majority of Haiti's wealth, the US has created the havoc and turmoil that is Haiti, because that is all the US ever does!1 point

Oh, how nice. And this has what to do with Canada? How does this justify illegal immigrants? How does this justify draining Canadian resources for people who should be going home instead of looking for a free ride in Canada?1 point
-
We cannot absorb thousands of them without problems along the way as in, no jobs. What level of education do the Haitians have, if they are not skilled workers then we will be looking at huge welfare and medical bills in the long term . The gov't/Trudeau is waffling on this as they are likely preparing a general amnesty for all illegals in another year or so. This will be in time for them to vote (Liberal) in the next election.1 point

Why yes I do. But some here seem to think that Muslim men raping and assaulting women is a Muslim thing, when really its more of a "man" thing.1 point

You're a lawyer? Hmmm, Did you represent the Harper government when it ran afoul of the supreme court by any chance? But of course not, you would have won and Khadr would have received the death penalty.1 point

You have to remember that evolution is not an intelligent beast and it doesn't care about our wants and desires. For example, evolution has no interest in evolving towards a species free of cancer because, for the most part, cancer happens after the child-bearing years. So nature doesn't care. Nature has no interest in what diseases afflict us, be they heart, lung or whatever, once we're past child-bearing years. It will make no changes to lengthen our lives or make them less disease-prone in our middle and elder years. A stronger heart\? It's strong enough when we're in our twenties and early thirties and that's all nature cares about.1 point

The truth is that we've been on a eugenics program for centuries, if not longer. Looks? Who do young people look for in a partner? Someone hot, ie, attractive, someone tall and easy on the eyes, and preferably someone smart. If couples go to one of those sperm donor clinics what do they want to know about the donors? They want them to be intelligent and good looking. I think that some clinics even pay a premium for people like nobel prize winners. All this would be is doing it more efficiently. Besides, it's tired and cheap to say if Hitler liked dogs then everyone who is a dog lover is acting like Hitler.1 point

Perhaps you should add some other religious groups to your hate list then, such as Mennonites and Polygamous Mormons. They dictate women's apparel, segegate men and women, discourage women from seeking education, cover up wife-beating and sexual abuse of teenage girls from the wider society and blame the women for those behaviors within their society.1 point
