1. I thought you were pointing out the lack of media coverage as bringing the credibility into question. I don't think this is a major story, so credible local coverage indicates it's at least a real situation, of concern to the community on both sides of the issue.
2. You said the mother was cashing in or some words to that effect. I'm not saying you're wrong, just saying that a truly objective observer might give the benefit of the doubt.
I just believe that if you want to throw water on the trans hysteria out there, it's better to point out that reasonable people are using our institutions to work through the details of accommodating trans rights in a polite society. The idea that taking these cases to inflammatory media outlets is necessary is based on distrust of said institutions IMO.
Reasonable people should be able to acknowledge that the accommodation of trans people is something new, that needs discussion and processing in the public sphere. That's where I am on the issue, though many on here doubt that.
