CdnFox Posted February 9 Report Posted February 9 Carney, Ford discussed idea of an early federal election to secure majority, sources say - The Globe and Mail So that lying sack of crap Carney indeed was thinking about going to the polls and getting his majority and Doug Ford was supporting him. And l love the whole "i totally think carney should go to the polls and get a majority but please don't think that means i'm endorsing him" routine. The liberals are going to do whatever it takes to try and lock in 4 years where they don't have to be accountable. 2 1 Quote "That which doesn't kill me... Had better start running."

Barquentine Posted February 10 Report Posted February 10 https://www.cbc.ca/player/play/video/9.7082246 Liberals, Conservatives in behind-the-scenes talks to avoid spring election: sources "Liberals and Conservatives are working out a path that could keep the government in power, sources tell CBC News, while Prime Minister Mark Carney continues to downplay the likelihood of a spring election." https://toronto.citynews.ca/2008/09/07/why-did-harper-force-an-election/ "In calling the election, Harper ignored his own fixed-election-date law — legislation he’d explicitly pitched as a means of stopping prime ministers from calling snap votes whenever the political tide felt favourable." As much as I'd love to see PeePee lose again, there will be no snap election. 1 Quote

CdnFox Posted February 10 Author Report Posted February 10 8 hours ago, Nationalist said: Me too. "ELBOWS UP". It's not the time yet. The NDP is going to need at least half a year to get organized, Poilievre has barely had time to switch gears from appealing to the base to thinking about appealing to Canadians in general and carney hasn't spent enough time failing yet. People are still blowing off his failures as "Oh he hasn't even finished a year". They need a little more time for it to sink in how bad a decision they made. Going at the wrong time could very well give them the chance to walk away with the majority. His record is already starting to get bad and it's going to get worse every year. This time in the fall he'll have really no excuses as to why there are no pipelines, why CUSMA fell apart, why nobody can afford food or rent, why the economy sucks so bad. But right now he can still play the "I just got here" game 1 1 Quote "That which doesn't kill me... Had better start running."

TreeBeard Posted February 11 Report Posted February 11 Seeing Poilievre lose again would be fun! Seems to me that Poilievre is willing to cooperate with the Libs to do everything he can to avoid an election. https://www.ipolitics.ca/2026/02/04/carney-poilievre-hold-meeting-on-wednesday-as-both-sides-call-for-cooperation-in-parliament/ He is so low in the polls that his party would be trounced in an election. They had a chance leading by an huge margin before the last election and blew it! 1 1 Quote

Shady Posted February 16 Report Posted February 16 Didn’t Carney promise that he wasn’t going to call a spring election? Quote
ironstone Posted February 16 Report Posted February 16 If Carney does go to the polls, we on the conservative side must brace ourselves for a Liberal majority, or a strong minority again at the very least. Years more of the same failed policies lie ahead. I guess this is what Canada gets when so many voters are ONLY concerned about hating Trump and Poilievre. They hate Poilievre because he 'whines' too much, but they always fail to point out what's wrong with any of his policy proposals. Quote Beware the Brookfield industrial complex...
