And once again Carney drops tariffs as soon as trump tells him to and gets nothng in return.  One phone call and Carney can't scramble fast enough to do what he's told

Trump turned around and said in a news conference that nobody can stop him and he likes carney a lot so he's hopeful he'll do what he's told.

So CARENY just DROPPED our tariffs while trump just jacked ours substantially by adding a craptonne of 'steel derivative' products to the steel tariff list!!

So once again, for the SECOND time Carney has a phone call, Tariffs against canada go UP and tariffs against the us GO DOWN. 

Does ANYONE believe for a SECOND that a guy who caves this often and this badly to trump is going to wind up with a 'good deal' for canada???

It's just too bad Carney couldn't do a better job of pointing out and convincing Canadians that tariffs ultimately do more economic damage to those who impose them.

Mélanie Joly said it best months ago that the only people who will get Trump's attention and get him to change his mind will be American consumers when it finally dawns on them they are who's paying for Trump's tariffs.

For some really dumb reason Conservatives seem to be doing as little as possible to dismiss Trump's BS that his tariffs are paid for by Canadians - the misperception helps PP as well as Trump and Carney should call them both out on it.

Personally I always figured Melanie Joly would have been a better choice for PM.

America doesn't need these outside input, we are an entire Continent with some of the world's best geography. Export for us has never exceeded 13% since our country's founding. We really are immune to counter tariff. We trade more amongst our own states than any other single country.

We’re not allowed to criticize our leaders over terrible negotiations now?  What is this North Korea or something?  Go f**k yourself.  If you want to settle for failure because you view politics as a team sport that’s your business, but nobody else is required to.  It’s king past due that Canadians started to care more about policy instead of personality.

Well it's tough because first off it's a lie and second off his entire campaign was based on telling people the exact opposite.

It would also help if he didn't keep doing this a) Directly after being ordered to by his orange master and  b) at the same time Trump increases tariffs on us. 

Honestly, is there nothing in the universe this guy could do that wouldn't cause you to immediately lie on his behalf?

In any case I see there's a fair bit of relief being expressed in the response from Canadian businesses to Carney dropping tariffs. I also see more American businesses complaining about Trump jacking them up in every direction.

Inevitability abounds.

We dropped tariffs on CUSMA compliant goods, the tariffs on steel, aluminum and autos remain so basically we are tariffing the same things as the US.

Lke what? The US doesn't have the large amounts of cheap electricity required to make aluminum economically, the US Canada auto pact goes back to 1965 and NAFTA was Reagan/Bush.

And yet it's our businesses that are failing and not theirs.  The fact is they can't survive the tariffs that trump has put on.

The idea of counter tariffs was to hurt the other guy and force them to the table. But instead we showed we'd drop them faster than carney's pants as soon as trump asks 

So while other countries have been able to work something out ours have not and the impact is horrible.  Nobody else's economy is anywhere near as dependent on us trade as ours. 

Honestly trump could nuke our country, carney would say it's all part of the plan and you'd be defending him.  There is nothing he can do that would make you admit he's hurting the country.  Just like you were with trudeau.
