You old farts are destroying Canada

More and more people might face a tough time in retirement. Low-paying jobs, inflation, and high rents make it hard to save. Now, middle-class Canadians find it tough to own a home too, leaving them without a place to retire. The young generation of Canadians that are about to start their life has found that they must pick between food or paying rent. Food bank usage are skyrocketing. The easiest solution is of course the one thing you don't want, 51st. You old farts can afford to say no to orange man because you bought your house 35 years ago and don't care. There is no reason a country with almost the same land mass as America can't house a few million new comers.

The answer is for people facing the challenges you describe is the join the Canadian forces and push the government to follow through with rebuilding the CAF. A larger military will deter the Americans.

The US doesn't want our steel, aluminum and copper etc., we use it to build munitions and weapons for the CAF and Ukraine.

The tariffs put people out of work... the CAF needs recruits.

This can't be a serious post. You want to solve your entire socio-economic -demographic problem by what preparing for war against the US??????????????????????????????????????? The moment Canada becomes a threat to the Americans is the moment Canada ceases to exist as a nation state. 

Your actual land mass is smaller FYI. Stop including frozen lake water as a land mass. No one can live on it.

In addition to knowing we once built the 4th largest army on the planet you also need to realize we also did so in short order.

By the same token the vast majority of Canadians will automatically know it's time to shift into battle mode again and you will be faced with the most motivated insurgency you've ever faced.

Donald's threats have only made Canada stronger and more resolved.

Maybe next time a POTUS visits Parliament our politicians will do less fawning and instead will hold our heads high without any regard for what any American leader thinks of us.   And maybe the wives of our leaders will choose to stay home because they just DGAF.

Trump is a moderate, if it was up to me, I would actually raise the Tariff to 145% in Canada, force an economic winter. Turn Canada into a failed state. All without firing a shot. But ofcourse out of the Kindness of our Big American hearts unlike the ungrateful Canadians, we'll let in the Canadian refugee and allow them to apply for assylum status. The prideful Canucks can wait in the breadline.

We are all economic nationallist now. The world no longer has a healthy demographic conducive to free trade. You'r not just running out of consumers, that happened 20 years ago, you're running out of workers! There is no one else to sell to. All you have on the world market is raw material but to do what? make into products that then sells into america? Trump gamed it out already. You're all deindustrializing. This is before you consider the fact that there isn't going to be a large American pirate fleet to disrupt global trade (hint, there will be, we're going to make pirating great again).

Joining Ww2 was a huge mistake and a waste of Canadian lives.

Liberal leaders across the West have done nothing but spit on those veterans' sacrifice, exploited the holocaust to justify handing away their nations to be overrun & destabilized by radical third world demographic change.

No one's going to lay down their lives, fight to protect a crumbling low trust society and nation that's betrayed them.

This is all the left is good for Talking a good game, but what they lack is any means to execute any of their fantasies...Canada has all but chased out its military industrial machine....it has also beaten any thing to do with the military out of it's citizens...It could not even properly equip its own microscopic military of just 65,000 personal,shit it can't even look after its vets properly, unless offering them MAID as to not inconvenient the rest of the population....

And now you want to puff out your chests and start beating the war drums that have long been rusted into nothing....because the orange guy has told you to get your sh!t together and start paying our own way in the world...Canadians are not going to get motivated....they have had decades in which to do just that....Canadians are more interested in what social programs they can get , and how much taxes can i save...they are softer than soft ice cream...you're fooling yourself if you think Canada will or could stand up to the might of the US, be it militarily or economically...

Ironically enough the intent of the Orange guys tariffs are to get the world to pay America's way in the world.

America has been paying the bills while here in Canada we have been plotting which social program can we get next...The US has said enough of them paying the way, now everyone will have to pay, share the bill....and you think somehow thats wrong your afraid of losing your social programs...Well look likes carney will be doing that for you....and he is the guy getting it done according to the left...

Canada and other NATO countries need to do more but the US will not spend less when they do. The US will spend what it has needs to in order to remain #1 regardless of what anyone else does.

Just know, Orange man didn't just said no more free ride, he even graciously offered you a permanent seat, 51st where everyone else would be paying you Canada. The tariff would mean just that, Europe and Asia would be paying for your retirement. You all flatly refused. Now you see the folly of your ways. I hope others will too.

I think he gamed it out well, there is no one else to sell to. With the onset of mass retirement you not only ran out of people to sell to you're also running out of workers. So yeah the tariff will achieve the intended goals. Which is to make everyone else pay for America. It's too bad the Candians didn't want in.
