That's stupid, and you shouldn't need me to explain that. That's like saying "all money transactions are for some purpose therefore all money transactions are taxes".  No.  that is not how it works. 

Taxes are the gov't collecting money from the people directly in order to provide goods or services.   Profits are a store collecting money from a customer to provide goods or services. They sound the same, they are not the same.

Tariffs are a cost placed on the importation of goods or services to affect another country's ability to sell products within your country, or to limit the availability of that product.  It's a deterrent. 

That's why it's charged on importing, not at point of sale. 

Lets not be stupid about this please.  I know you know there's a difference between taxes and tariffs and lets not get bogged down in childish hair splitting.  You can argue that tariffs are good or bad but not that they're just another tax.

Property taxes are raised to provide services to the property owners in the form of roads and sewers, and while it might not go to the military it DOES go to the police. 

Tariffs are trade barriers intended to limit the commerce of other countries.

You already posted a definition of tariffs, saying they are duties, using the same source that defines duties as taxes. You can double down on your own willful misunderstanding, but you aren’t fooling anyone. The purpose of the tax is irrelevant.
