Taxes are unavoidable charges by a government. E.G. Sales Tax. A person must pay the Sales Tax in order to purchase any product. There is no choice.

Both duty and tariffs are not mandatory. A person must choose to purchase things abroad in order to incur the payment. Said person could have chosen to purchase the item locally but did not.

I've read the attempt to equate duty and tariff with tax by calling them "indirect taxation". That's nothing but a warping of words to satisfy a predetermined conclusion. But in the end, it's just warped chickenshit.

No, you need to account for tariff. The unions are pro tariff. Both parties are now pro union. Regardless of who is in power, these tariff are here to stay. Remember, Biden did not remove Trump’s tariff.

And no, the 'world' is not de-globalizing, the US is.  The world in fact is expanding trade relationships with each other so they will have less exposure to the US and it's unreliable government.

You probably want to keep working on your research reading comprehension....  The US has ~4.2% unemployment and a significant labor shortage.
