Your snopes link said nothing about her recanting. You made that up to support your brethren.
Just like when you were humiliated by posting a dictionary definition that proved you were wrong, you’re resorting to denying reality again.

You lied to support paedophilia. You were caught. And now all you have left is your impotent rage. 😆

Blah blah lie lie, they've admitted it was fake, easy enough to look up more info if you like. She never identified herself, and each time she filed it was either dismissed or she withdrew it. Which means either the court found it was fake and not worth proceeding or she admitted it was false and killed it herself.

All ya got is lies little girl, and like i said posting proofs just make you lie harder.  :)

Mean while you still won't address your support for a rapist and child molester yourself.  :)

Don't be obtuse.

Property taxes are raised to provide services to the property owners in the form of roads and sewers, and while it might not go to the military it DOES go to the police.

Tariffs are trade barriers intended to limit the commerce of other countries.

Pretending they're the same thing makes you look like a twat.  Be smarter than the twat.

So what, they are still a tax on imports. Liquor and tobacco taxes are used to limit their use. They are still taxes. But there is no point in arguing when someone is being deliberately  obtuse so I will leave it there.

"they're the same!"

 they're different, here's why

"SO??!?!  They might be completely different by they're still just the same!!!!"

??????????????

They are not "still a tax", they have a completely different effect and purpose and you can't compare them. it's stupid.

I can see why you're leaving it there given you're the one being deliberately obtuse.

Again, with a tariff the idea is to promote growth in industry and jobs locally by blocking foreign companies.  that is NOT what taxes do.  So there is an effect and benefit that is very different.

This childishness is why the left is falling behind in this day and age.

Why are you arguing? Must be the temperature or something

Tax and Tariff are not the same, that's why the description requires two different words.

You're right, it isn't a tax, It's being paid by the imaginary people who talk to you every day.

I've never met the people in your head, and i only talk to them on here when i reply to you ;)

So your argument now appears to be "if somebody pays for anything, it's a tax".

No. That's not how it works.

Here's the definition of tax:

A contribution for the support of a government required of persons, groups, or businesses within the domain of that government.

And that's pretty accurate.

It's POSSIBLE a levy or duty could be a tax if it's intention is to pay for a gov't service.  But that is usually called a 'duty', and isn't ALWAYS about importation.  But it goes to pay for the services.

In the broadest possible sense a tariff can be though of as being like a tax, in the same way that a royalty for natural resources can be though of like a sort of tax.  But neither are taxes in the normal sense and tariffs are even less so.

You're being stupid and it's not a good look. Trump didn't increase "taxes", he increased tariffs and with the express intent of denying other countries and companies easy access to the american market to stimulate the american economy and investment.

Call it what it is, and talk about what it is. I've told you a million times if you have to lie to make your point it's not a very good point.

Americans are paying the tariffs not other countries. It's a tax on Americans.

Grow up.  If you insist on being a twat you get called a twat.  That's how the world works.  This is like when you kept insisting it takes hundreds of miles of space behind a dam for a new dam to be built when we were discussing a dam that was being built 23 miles away from an existing one.   You get focused and start behaving badly then get mad when you get called on it.

I've been VERY clear in pointing out why a tariff isn't the same as a tax in the normal sense of the word, i've given dictionary definitions and references, I've given economic paper's definitions and explanations,  and you're going to try to claim i only offered "personal insults" like the biatch you are.

Like i said if you have to lie to support your argument, you don't have an argument.  You are not the dumbest leftie on this board, stop trying to pretend you are and actually address the real points or fcuk off.  Nobody wants to hear you crying or filling your diaper.

Don't worry little man, It's everyone else that's a child and you're the only grown up in the room....

So maybe try looking at this way....  If a tariff of 25% is applied to a 'widget' that costs $100 that means the American based importer of that 'widget' now pays $125 compared to the $100 they paid previously.  Now that they've paid the additional $25 that will not be coming out of their profitability, they will pass that on to the supply chain be it a distributor and/or final seller until it gets to you who will be paying $25 more for the 'widget' than you did previously.  It's not that hard to understand is it DF?

You're an angry little dude aren't you.  Can't help but take childish shots at anyone who doesn't agree with your flawed so-called logic in this subject, and pretty much every other.  An angry little fool...

Or buys a 110 dollar widget that was made locally.  Or maybe even starts up a widget company because it'll now be cheaper. And thus employs people and contributes more to the economy which helps keep taxes lower and prosperity higher for everyone.

this is the prime difference between a tax, which is a financial tool for gov'ts to fund their bills, and a tariff, which gov'ts use to influence their internal economies and industries.

Well as noted you already got that wrong, but you got it wrong again. the 25 dollars can't come out of their profitability AND the consumer's pocket. It's one or the other.

Calm down little guy, you're going to give yourself an aneurism!

I make jokes about arguments and people who are genuinely stupid. I actually have a fair number of very civil conversations with people i disagree with on this board when they're at least making sensible cases for their positon.

But when someone comes here and claims that the 25 extra dollars comes out of the companies profits AND the consumer's... LOL i mean sorry but you're getting fun made of you for that level of stupid :)

Interesting that a guy who slams Carney at any real or fictional chance for not getting a tariff free deal done but supports  Trump's trade and tariff policy  You're not conflicted at all with those different opinions?

I understand what tariffs do.  You don't seem to understand that a tariff is the same as an import tax.  Why have you been arguing that it's not.

You need to pay closer attention to what you're reading if you're going to comment.... 'Now that they've paid the additional $25 that will not be coming out of their profitability, they will pass that on to the supply chain be it a distributor and/or final seller until it gets to you.'

Again, read and comprehend before you comment....  'Now that they've paid the additional $25 that will not be coming out of their profitability'

Keep doing your research, you'll figure it out....

Trump’s promised ‘manufacturing miracle’ failed to materialize

Over $860 billion in manufacturing investments have been announced since President Joe Biden took office.

On May 9, President Joe Biden traveled to Racine, Wisconsin to announce a plan by Microsoft to build a $3.3 billion data center. The White House said that it expects the project to result in 2,300 unionized construction jobs and 2,000 permanent jobs in the area.

The site selected by Microsoft is the same site where, in 2017, then-President Donald Trump announced a $10 billion investment by Foxconn for a manufacturing facility. By 2021, Foxconn abandoned most of its plans and never delivered on promise to bring 13,000 new jobs.In his remarks at the ceremony, Biden chided Trump for his failure to deliver during his time in office.
