I can only hope that Trump will pull a Zelensky on Corney. Those globalists like Corney do need a rude awakening and Trump is just the man and leader to do so. Trump does not like the globalists because Trump knows that they are the ones that tried to make his life miserable and have him jailed before Trump became the President. If Corney wants to play the globalist game with Trump, the Corney will lose. Give Corney chit  big time Trump. 😇

I love that zelensky is now a noun :)

I don't think it'll be that bad.

I think there's two conflicting things for trump. One I think he thinks carney is a little weak. He's already suggesting that carney came running to him as soon as elected begging for favor. On the other hand he hasn't done a lot of deals yet and I think he is a little bit eager and desperate to get a deal or two in the bank. Right now he's been talking about how all this will completely change all of these countries deals with America but it hasn't yet

So his Killer Instincts when he sees weakness are going to bump up against his need to get a deal done in the near future

We will see

No. They just hate their constant whining.

Yes, they do hate them. And they don't like the whining in much the same way that slave owners wouldn't have tolerated it from their chattel. They expect albertans to take any amount of whipping in silence

But the NEP proved that the East has nothing but disdain for the west. As Dion accidentally said of Alberta we must consider them, we don't want to kill the cash cow...  That's how he thought of Alberta is just being a cash cow to milk and beat on occasion

And people in the east wonder why Alberta is especially mad

I wonder if Carney and Trump had actually rubbed elbows before in their corporate world outside of politics.......................even if just in social functions?

They most likely heard of each other (and knew of their calibers), due to their mega status in the world stage..............even if they didn't actually meet.

Is that why the much poorer farmers in the Maritimes send hay to Alberta during droughts?

Globe and Mail
"Aug 18, 2021 — Maritime farmers ship hay to ranchers out west as months of extreme heat and little rain has left crops withering in fields across the west..."

What did Alberta do for Nova Scotia after Hurricane Juan which was followed shortly by White Juan? Nothing.

https://www.cbc.ca › news ›Feb 8, 2014 — "White Juan damage funding comes 10 years later -
On Friday, Nova Scotia MP and Justice Minister Peter MacKay announced the province will receive $3.6 million under the Disaster Financial."

Of course that was a Conservative gov't so you couldn't expect too much...

News Release

June 17, 2016 – Edmonton, Alberta

In keeping with this commitment...

  • The Government of Canada will provide an advance payment of approximately 300 million dollars to Alberta through the Disaster Financial Assistance Arrangements (DFAA) program in early July.

Despite the fact that: Fort McMurray average household income is $210,265 - twice the Canadian average. And we have the highest average disposable income in Canada at $151,589

Yeah, those poor downtrodden Albertans...Wah, wah,wah..Why does everyone hate us? Wah, wah, wah.

It was a $300M loan...

When you consider all the hundreds of billions of dollars that Alberta put into confederation vs all they got out (not enough to buy a large double-double), it's like if your parents bought you a house, and then when they came over for dinner you handed them the grocery bill plus hourly charges for shopping, cooking and clean-up.

Say and do what you want, Barqy, no one in the west gives a fk. It's over. It doesn't work for you and it definitely doesn't work for us.

Why do you even care? What difference does it make to eastern Canadians if the west separates? Why don't you just make plans for afterwards?

Because it looks good.
If they REALLY cared why would they keep voting in liberal gov'ts that destroy alberta's economy and impoverish it's people? "hey,  we're going to destroy your livelyhood and weaken your province and repress your industry, but here's some hay to make it up"

Paid massive amounts of taxes to the feds so they'd have money to help.

$10K lol. FFFUUUUGGGGGG those people are stupid.

But not a word on $60 million ArrivScam or McKenna lost billions or the billions on the SDC scandal that went directly into Liberal pockets or SNC Lavalin or.....it would take hours to name all the taxpayer money thefts.

But Libs voted for more of it, so here we go. 🙄

We wasted way more than $10k just on covid 'vaccines' for 8 yr olds named Danny.

When you look at the size of the economies of Alberta and the US, and the amount of business they'd be doing together, $10K is like 2 cents for an average Canadian.

CBC editors: "Smith met with Trump. Find something to b1tch about... Did she invite a terrorist to dinner? Did she accidentally call trump the president of China? Did she dress up in a bunch of different traditional American religious robes and dance like a fool every time? Did she fly a jumbo jet full of reporters across North America to cover it? Surely she did something stupid. Doesn't everyone?"

I don't know much about Carney for me to judge whether he's pompous or not.

Anyway - as I've read the criticisms against Trump over the years - wouldn't Trump fall under the same category?

The difference would be.................. Trump, is also an entertainer.

Oh lol - if Carney gets snippety with Trump the way he did with the press - it might be game over!

Trust me,

Carney is pompous - as a typical Filipino male.

Before Trump? He will be different.

I like how Carney handled the meeting yesterday.  Imho, he did well.

Lol - I could almost see him biting his tongue. 😁

Trump seems to like Carney.  The banter on 51st state comment - with Carney making an analogy on the White House as not something for sale, and the "never say never" - the looks on their faces, says it all.

Can we read between the lines?

Trump said a lot of nice things about Canada and Carney, like he's wooing Canadians.

On becoming the 51st State.

"IT TAKES TWO TO TANGO."

"It would really be a wonderful marriage...."

"Time will tell.  It's only time.  But I say, never say never.

Over time....................we'll see what happens."

Carney's struggle to keep from bursting out laughing is what stood out the most.

"I'm on the edge of my seat"...priceless!

Nothing really stood out. Those who like carney are trying to point to things like you did and suggest that somehow it was some sort of positive and people who don't like Kearney point to some of the other issues like the fact that he basically got lectured and then forgotten and say it went badly

In my mind the real question is why the hell did he go down there if this is all that was going to happen. Trump made entirely too much fun of Justin for rushing down to mar-A-Lago when trump called.  It would have been better for him to wait for the G7 and meet with trump then in Canada.

i had really thought maybe he'd get SOMETHIGN like at least a date when negotiations on the free trade agreement would begin.

But he got nothing, he got dissed by trump, and we still have exactly the same tariffs including a new 100% tax on foreign films however the hell that's going to work which would be potentially crippling to Ontario and British Columbia.

It was probably a mistake to go and it doesn't look great as far as his ability to handle things moving forward. But we will see, it's early days

No, it would have been quite reasonable to say meet at the G7.

And you seem more concerned about optics than results. What I can tell you was certainty is this didn't go particularly well. Trump treated him like an afterthought, basically forgot about him halfway through and just started doing a normal Presser with him sitting there like a lump, Truck made zero commitments and acknowledged zero of his points and has agreed To nothing including the simple agreement as to when they can begin real negotiations.

At this moment in time absolutely nothing has changed or gotten any better and in fact things are getting worse with the new tariff he just announced. So what was the point of this trip?

I don't see that Carney accomplished much if anything.  He was only there to listen, not talk.  We know Trump is not interested in listening to anything.  We remember Zelensky's visit.

They could have done it on a video conference call.   Same results except it would have saved taxpayers thousands of dollars.

What? Why go just to listen? Trump didn't even tell him anything besides 51'st state and 'tariffs stay on".  Why would he go just to 'listen'?  He's supposed to be representing Canada. What happened to elbows up?

Why did Macron go? Why did Starmer go? Why did Carney visit Starmer and Macron? If you knew 1/10th of what you think you know about politics, you'd know that these are the symbolic meetings of heads of state, diplomatic niceties that start or signify the work that will be done by civil servants and trade ministers, etc...

And No! - going to Mor0n-Lago is not the same as an invite to the White House. M0ron-Lago is for sycophants, lobbyists and hucksters. Trudeau shouldn't have gone there.

To prevent people from whining if he hadn't gone.  Must have been a lesser than two evils thing.

No matter what he'd done chins would've wagged.
