Elsewhere in Canada, do you see this?

In Montreal, near where I live, there are people who have tents.

Homeless?

These people (men, mostly) often force dogs to live in similar circumstances.

-I have never seen a cat beside a begging men at the SAQ.

Around here they have old junky boats they buy/get from people grateful to get rid of them. Most are destined for the bottom or some beach as a derelict.

If people think micro-plastics are bad they'll love micro-glass pollution - microscopic shards of glass in the food web from old fibreglass boats breaking down in the environment. There's thousands of these if not millions around the world. It's a timebomb that's exploding in front of our eyes as we speak.

It cost me around $3000 to dispose of my old tub at the landfill.

I wasn't homeless but travelling by thumb once in the 1970s. Got dropped off in northern Ontario in the middle of the night and pitched my puptent between some shrubs in a grassy plot.

Awakened by traffic noise and the morning sun, I discover I was camped in the median of a bloody freeway. Felt like an utter fool.

Today, these people are homeless. Look at the Fraser Valley where people are living in broken down RVs, camper trucks and old trailers in rest areas and even parks right downtown. This is a problem we must address, and not simply by making them relocate.

This has become extremely prevalent. Often it's not even tense anymore but people that have bought some sort of camper or RV and will set up little temporary villages on public land or often at rest stops along the highway because there's toilets. Some people have called them Trudeau towns.

The problem is these vehicles often get modified in such a way as to be potentially fire hazards and they are often now found inside Municipal borders. It's becoming very difficult for municipalities to figure out how to address the issue

Many more years ago, I did the same in Greece. At night, I thought I chose an empty space. In the morning, I woke up beside some grazing goats.

And then in the distance, I saw a woman step down from a truck, urinate, get back in.

Have you ever even had a dog?
If you did, you'd know they care about YOU not your situation. The hard ground or a silk pillow are the same as long as they're with their person.

Seen to many people with a fancy home and a dog chained or kept in little more than a cage that delude themselves into thinking they're "responsible dog owners" and whine about unleashed dogs sitting in their own front yard or walking with their owners regardless of who they are or where they were going to. Buskers or panhandlers with dogs, so what? Dogs can live on scraps from a dumpster, be more concerned about the people who have to.

To my knowledge, no one in Montreal is forcing anyone to have a dog.

I have walked dogs - today, for example. He pooped twice. (I picked up.)

I think it is wrong for homeless people to have dogs. If a person is incapable of organising their own life, it is wrong to impose their life-style on a domesticated animal.

And I don't live downtown. When I walk him 'takes a Trump' in the ditch or the bush. I don't pick it up and put it in a plastic bag so it won't decompose for 400 years. It can fertilize the weeds within days.

And the point was you being critical of the unhoused who had dogs, the exact opposite of anyone forcing them to have dogs. Don't be lif Foxy who pretends people said something else then replies argue to the something else.

I got off relatively cheap, it could have been a lot more if the fellow who broke the boat into pieces wasn't salvaging metals as he went.

Add the cost of raising an old wreck off the bottom before properly disposing of it could easily add tens if not hundreds of thousands to the cost.

There are hundreds if not thousands of old derelict boats on the coast. I'm looking at three old tubs listing at a dock as we speak that will likely be on the bottom before the year is out.

They're time bombs. Hopeless dreamers who buy one have yet to learn boat means bring on another thousand...$.

It cost that for the phone company to dispose of some old Atco trailers from a microwave site 30 years ago.
They gladly paid o bring them to my old farm and I made them into a small barn, a chicken coop, a shop. They were still in impeccable shape, and AFAIK are still in use by whoever owns the place now.

Won't forget, the trailers showed up during a huge outdoor 40th party the wife threw for me. Hiabs lifted them into place and dozens of drunken, stoned friends had each one set and levelled in minutes.

And Foxy wasn't there when the bears and wolves came out of the woods to pick up their shit and put in little plastic bags.
